This is real. And I don’t usually post things of such serious nature but, for some reason, I feel like some people need to see this.

I feel like this is especially appropriate for cars and turtles in the road.
And don’t drill holes in them or paint em. Its painful and toxic and you’ll make the poor things cry!
Our turtles love having their heads and chins scratched. And a light pat on their shells. No hits, or thumps. They love good pets, please pet them with love.
Shells are LITERALLY their backbone, imagine if someone thumped you hard on the spine. It would suck right? Don’t do it.
Also their shells are covered in a VERY thin layer of fingernail-like material called scutes. When you paint it, a) it’s very easy for the toxins in the paint to absorb into the turtle’s system and poison them, b) it cuts off circulation to the thin layer of living skin below the scutes, c) it deforms the shell because turtles, especially young turtles, grow rapidly and the paint will inhibit proper shell growth and d) prevents the turtle from absorbing necessary vitamin D from UV rays (you know, that stuff they need to live). NEVER EVER PAINT A TURTLE EVER.

well for one thing, he’s ableist. nothing is romantic about cancer. he’s also a bad writer. he’s also a transphobe. he’s also a self-absorbed dick.
Have you read The Fault in Our Stars? Obviously not because there’s nothing romantic about cancer in that book.
It’s your opinion that he’s a bad writer, and that fine. It’s my opinion that he’s a good writer. No one person’s opinion is more valid over another, and stating your opinion as a fact does not make it a fact.
Please provide me with proof that he’s a transphobe… Because I can provide you with proof to the contrary if necessary.
I would also love to see proof that he’s self-absorbed. If he was the “self-absorbed dick” you’re saying he is, he wouldn’t have done any of the things I mentioned above. Self-absorbed people don’t care about anything other than things that benefit them.

it is a romance book. that centers on cancer. yes ive read it, regrettably.
he praises himself too much. “when was the last time the girl kissed the boy in teen romance?” and he wrote a tweet about it takes balls to make a movie about a girl in the summer. also, all of these things? yeah it’s nice, until he talks about “im so great because i do this, support me.”
I have seen that post many times, and all of that is in his past, some of which has been taken out of context, and much of which he has apologized for. That also doesn’t prove that he himself is transphobic. However, I can provide you with proof that he isn’t: here and here and here.
You do realize that there are real people with cancer who fall in love, right? They’re not romanticizing their own cancer. Romanticizing is to paint something in an unrealistic light, to make it seem more appealing than it is. There is literally nothing in The Fault in Our Stars that makes cancer seem appealing.
He addressed the “when was the last time the girl kissed the boy in a teen romance?” post here. And it does take guts to release a movie about a girl during the summer. You know why?
These were last year’s summer blockbusters. These movies are overwhelmingly male-centered and male-targeted, so hell yeah it takes guts to release a movie about a female in the middle of the summer when the industry generally releases movies about males.
And John Green has never once claimed to be great and asked people to support him because of it.
Hello, i would like to add to this by saying something that might help you to understand how he wasn't romanticizing cancer.
He didn't romanticize anything, he told the story of two people in romance. There is nothing in his book or in the movie about cancer being good or romantic or appealing.
Reading this book and watching this movie does not make me want to have cancer,
It makes me want to fall in love.
There is a difference between romanticizing what someone has and telling the love story of someone who was something.
So before you go yelling at John Green and Nerdfighteria and TFIOS fans, learn the freaking difference. Your not embarrassing us, or making us feel bad about loving the story, your embarrassing yourself.
