i dont think the people who oppose public university are even aware that the only reason private is the way it is here is BECAUSE of public. libertarians love to cry about how they shouldn't be paying for something that only benefits other people which is already an ass take but like have they ever wondered why college in the us requires you to go into lifelong debt/join the military/sacrifice your firstborn to join. "i can afford it so it's not my problem" Guess Why You Can Afford It

and usians who oppose it baffle me like how are you 50 and still paying off debt and manage to still think "it'd be a drain on taxpayer money" Brother you are poorer in this reality than in a reality where less than 1% of your taxes are used to fund university

one american thing that confuses me are college application letters. why do you need to write yourself a tragic backstory to go to university, don't you have standardized exams? who's reading through all these bad high schooler essays?
