I used to have an aversion to the Bible and learning about anything that had to do with American slave trade mainly due to HOW we are taught or shown it.

The more i work with my ancestors, the less shame, and frustration i feel. Instead, i feel pure fire to uncover the very many secrets that are the source of our black American culture as well as Hoodoo.

Living with chronic physical & mental illness is so fucking draining. There are days when I can barely show up for my child, for my partner, for myself. My Ancestors understand that. I’ve struggled with trying to do things the “right” way, especially going down this path pretty much on my own. I’m becoming more comfortable with not being so hard on myself or forcing myself to do certain things when it comes to my practice. Some days all I can do is hold my crystals and be grateful. & that’s valid.

White men: Don’t use the term Karen. Coming from you, it’s just misogynistic. Karen is a word coined by people of color, mostly black people, in reaction to acts of racism.

And if you’re a white woman campaigning against the use of the term Karen— wonder why you’re not campaigning against the racist acts of the ones that get called Karen.
