Usually, it depends on the mood! Santi likes the imagination of it more than any one specific scenario. They enjoy the thrill of flirting in a different context and finding new ways to express attraction.

She'd step in before they pass their judgement. "I think what they're trying to say," she'd cut in, voice smooth and perfectly civil, "is that they're very happy to be here. Isn't that right, darling?"
Dmitry: He'd appreciate the effort, but he'd care more about whether you're being genuine than whether you can impress anyone. If you get clumsy, he'd make it easier without calling attention to it: handing you the right dish, filling a gap in the story, drawing you back in when you start apologizing too much. At some point, he'd lean close enough for only you to hear: "You're doing fine. Please breathe."
Jong-woo: He'd be so touched that you're trying to impress his parents that it would make him nervous too. Unfortunately, his version of helping might involve laughing too hard, interrupting with backup details no one asked for, and making your awkward compliment sound even more awkward by agreeing too enthusiastically. He'd lean over, still smiling like his life depends on it, and whisper, "I think we're both making it worse."
Kailee: She can see you're trying your hardest to impress and exactly how badly you're doing at it. Her sisters will clown you relentlessly and she'd let them have a little fun, but only a little. The second the joke starts turning into a pile-on, she'd teasingly cut in with, "Okay, that's enough. They're embarrassing themself perfectly fine without help." She'd hook her arm around yours, leaning her head on your shoulder. "Honey, you've got to chill out. You keep giving them ammo."
Kalea: She's never brought someone home like this before, so while you're trying to impress her grandparents and cousins, she's trying not to look like she's waiting for the floor to open up under her. She'd still try to help by giving you something simple to focus on or pulling you into a safer corner of the room. Then one of her cousins would say something teasing, and she'd go bright red before managing, "We're all trying our best! Can you please not make this harder?"
Linden: They'd find it sweet at first, mostly because their brother Parker is not nearly as intimidating as you're acting like he is. The harder you try, the more amused they'd get, right up until you start making yourself miserable over it. They'd step in to rescue you from your own overthinking. If you start fumbling because you're taking it too seriously, they'd squeeze your hand. "You can relax. Parker's not as impressive as he thinks he is."
Lu: They'd be tense before you even realized you were trying too hard. If you're clumsy in front of their parents, the embarrassment wouldn't bother them nearly as much as the way you keep trying to earn approval from people Lu doesn't even fully trust themselves. They might tease you in private, but not there. They'd watch you laugh too quickly at something their parents said, set their glass down, and say, "Don't encourage them, gorgeous. They'll start thinking they're actually charming."
Makai: He'd appreciate the effort, but he wouldn't want you stressing over it. If you start rambling, reaching for impressive answers, or laughing too hard at jokes that aren't that funny, he'd interrupt before you dig any deeper. He'd respect you more for being real than for being impressive, and he'd definitely tell you as much once you're out of earshot: "Baby...you don't have to sell yourself to people who already want to know you."
Marcel: Watching you try to charm someone they actually trust while accidentally making yourself weirder by the minute would give them material for weeks. But beneath the teasing, they'd be watching closely, because anyone important enough to meet you is someone they chose to let close. If the room stays kind, they'll let you suffer a little; if it doesn't, they'd smile across the table and pointedly say, "I'm still in charge of everyone's drinks later, in case anyone was feeling forgetful."
Misty: She wouldn't treat it like a big deal, which is probably what saves you. Her brothers are loud, nosy, and protective, but she knows they're not actually trying to scare you off. She'll listen while doing something else, occasionally glancing up with a little hum. If you get especially dramatic, she might sigh and say, "Should I be concerned by how emotionally attached you are to a man with no pulse, or is this one of those things I'm meant to find charming?"
Makai: Knows it's just a game. If you're having fun, then fine. He doesn't really get attached to fictional romance routes himself, but he'll listen if you're ranting beside him on the couch. He may not remember every name, but he does remember the one who made you mad. "That's the one who lied, right?" he asks, frowning at the screen. "Yeah, I don't like him."
Misty: Doesn't really get the appeal, but she's not judging you for it. She'll let you rant, make a few comments, and occasionally look over like she's trying to understand why you're arguing with your phone. As long as you still love her, it's cool. "Babe, I'm gonna be honest. I don't know what any of that means, but I support your right to be weirdly stressed about it."
Has pixel partners of their own
Kailee: Kailee is for sure a Romance Club reader. She locks in for every update, every Diamond Rush, every Tea Party, she's there. So she would never judge MC for being into otome or romance games. If you play too, she's immediately sending a friend request so you can trade cards for gems and teacups. You'd catch her squealing in bed next to you, smacking your shoulder with her phone in hand. "Look how Yasin proposed to Ghita. If you don't love me like this, I'll bite you." She pauses and smirks. "I mean, I'll bite you if you do love me like that too, but still."
Kalea: Would never judge because she plays them too. Love and Deepspace, Tokyo Debunker, Mystic Messenger, she has range. She'd also be a bit of a harem girlie because having favorites makes her feel bad, even when the characters are fictional. In LaDs, she tends to gravitate toward Sylus and Zayne the most even if she won't admit it. She does all her dailies and watches memories on YouTube when she can't afford to pull. If you play too, she's so excited. She'll curl up next to you and whisper, "Okay, wait, who are you choosing? I wanna know if we're going to have the same emotional support pixel."
Listens and asks questions
Dmitry: Doesn't fully understand the appeal at first, but it makes you happy, so he asks about it anyway. And because he's Dmitry, the questions are sincere enough that you end up explaining an entire route to him before realizing he's actually been following along. "So she's the one you like?" he asks, looking at the screen. "She seems...toxic...is that part of the appeal?"
Linden: Thinks it's nice that you're passionate about something, even if the actual game isn't their thing. They'll sit beside you while you play, listening as you explain the plot, the love interests, the choices, the bad endings, the discourse. They ask good questions too, which makes you explain even more than they needed. "So the problem isn't that he lied," they say after a while, "it's that the game wants you to forgive him too quickly?"
Marcel: Intrigued less by the game itself and more by how invested you are. They want lore, backstory, personalities, motives, romantic tension. They also start judging the love interests. "That one? Really?" they ask, leaning over your shoulder. "Mon coeur, I support you, but that hair? Really?" They wouldn't download the game themselves, but they would definitely start asking for updates.
Santi: Thinks it's cute. They like cuddling up on the couch while you show them your phone, reading over your shoulder and making little comments under their breath. They'd get invested in your reactions more than the game itself, smiling whenever you gasp or start ranting. "Wait, wait, go back," they say, tugging you a little closer. "She said that and you're still romancing her? Mi vida, your taste is a little questionable, not gonna lie."
Jealous of the pixels
Jong-woo: Knows it's silly. He knows. But he's real and warm and right here, and you have been staring at that fictional man for twenty minutes. He tries to be supportive at first, but eventually he starts leaning into your side, then over your shoulder, then directly into your lap if necessary. "Okay, but he can't cuddle you," he says, very reasonably. "And I can. So maybe put your phone down for five minutes?" Five minutes becomes thirty. This is by design.
Lu: Peeks over your shoulder every so often and makes backhanded comments before pretending they don't care. The outfits are too much. The dialogue is ridiculous. The one you like most is "fine, I guess, if you're into that sort of thing." If you ask whether they're jealous, they scoff. "Why would I be jealous of some stupid pixels?" they say, with the deepest scowl aimed directly at your phone. Then, a few minutes later, "He isn't even that attractive."

Jong-woo: It spurs him on instantly. He grabs your face and kisses you so hard you barely get the next one out, then pulls back enough to breathe against your mouth. "Tell me again. Please," he begs, voice cracking, hands holding you tighter.
Kailee: She bites her lip, fighting a smile The repetition goes straight to her head, especially with you already falling apart underneath her. She leans in close, eyes locked on yours, dragging her nails slow down your chest. "Yeah? Say it again."
Kalea: She buries her face against your chest, fingers clutching at your skin. The words make her emotional without pulling her out of the moment; if anything, they drag her deeper in, hips rolling harder, voice cracking louder. "I love you too," she breathes, shaky, flushed all the way to her ears. "So much, so much, don't stop--"
Lu: They aren't used to hearing it this freely, this often, and it does terrible things to their control. The first few get a smile, like they can handle it. The rest prove they can't. They pull your skin between their teeth to leave a mark as their answer, grinding into you harder every time you say it again. Hearing it, especially sincerely, definitely makes them come faster.
Makai: It makes him almost reverent. He kisses your shoulders, your throat, anywhere he can reach, murmuring it back into your skin. The more you say it, the more his hands slow down, fingers lacing with yours, holding tighter.
Marcel: "I know," they'd say, mouth ghosting yours, pretending they're unaffected. But if you keep saying it like you really mean it, the teasing slips fast. Their grip tightens on your hips. Their voice would get lower, needier. "I can feel it. Love me more. Love me harder."
Misty: She teases the first few, asking if you're trying to butter her up or if she's just that good. But the more you say it, the more it gets to her, grin softening into something rawer, hips pressing closer like she wants to feel every word instead of just hear it. She kisses you mid-sentence, catching the words before they finish leaving your mouth.
Santi: They slow everything down; the words make them want to feel every second of it. "Te quiero mucho, mi vida." He'd pull you in, kiss your temple, and hold you before he remembers where he is. "Does that mean I get to keep you at night now? No more waking up just to watch you leave?"
Jong-woo: The take is ruined the second he spots you. He'd stare, lose his line completely, and then straight up leave so you can tell him why you're there. All he hears is "new job nearby" before he's pressing kisses all over your face. "You'll be here-here??" He's already sprinting into the future. Lunch dates, sleepovers, errands together, seeing you on a random Tuesday.
Kailee: She'd walk into the consultation ready to charm a new client and stop dead when she sees you sitting there. The eye roll would come first, then her genuine smile. "Since when did you get so sneaky?" She'd make you explain the new position from the beginning, pretending to be annoyed while clearly enjoying the ambush. "If you keep stealing spots on my calendar, I'm charging extra." Payment would be negotiated later, and she'd make sure you're very aware kisses are only the opening offer.
Kalea: She'd see you between classes and light up before she even knows why you're there. When you tell her, she'd bounce excitedly on her feet, and nearly drop her textbooks trying to get her arms around you. "Really?! You're serious?" She'd be excited, breathless, disbelieving. She's already talking about places she wants to show you and all the little ordinary things you'll finally get to do together.
Linden: They'd ask the unromantic questions first: whether the job is good, whether the move works for you, whether you wanted this before they became part of the equation. There might be a faint pinch of concern there too, like part of them wishes you'd talked it through together before deciding. Once they're sure you're sure, the worry eases, and they'd squeeze your hand with a small smile. "Alright. But if you're around this much, I'm putting you to work during rush hour."
Lu: A new position nearby means access. Routine. More of you in their city, their spaces, their life. Naturally, they'd act put out, because admitting how much they like the idea would be unbearable. "Am I going to have to make more space for you in my closet now?" they'd ask, slowly threading their fingers through yours to pull you close. "You already have a drawer. Some people would call that excessive."
Makai: You choosing to be closer, choosing to stay within reach, would mean more than he could ever say, so he doesn't even try to say anything at all. If you start talking faster to fill the silence, he'd shake his head and reach for you, pulling you in with more care than urgency. He might laugh a little against your shoulder, embarrassed by himself. "Give me a minute, okay? I'm happy. I'm just…yeah. I'm really happy."
Marcel: Their hands would betray them before their mouth does. The pour goes too long, liquor spilling over before they mutter something under their breath and reach for a towel. You being closer makes the whole thing harder to joke about; suddenly there are weeknights, spare keys, your coat on their chair, all these little domestic horrors waiting to become real. They'd be happy, almost stupidly so, which is exactly why it takes them a second to look back at you. When they do, their mouth is twitching, fighting an inevitable smile. "I hope you're proud. You've made me waste perfectly good liquor."
Misty: She'd be happy before she knows why you're there. Once you tell her, her grin would go wide and dangerous. "Oh, you're done for," she'd say, already stepping closer. "I'm gonna be so annoying now." And she would be: showing up hungry, dragging you out on errands, calling because she's nearby and bored and wants you to come out to play.
Santi: They'd start smiling when they see you, and it falls by the slightest millimeter when you explain. A new position nearby is sweet, but it's also a lot, and they'd need to know you didn't make the choice only because of them. Their questions would come casual on the surface while watching your face the whole time, waiting for the answer underneath the answer. Once they believe it, the tension would leave their shoulders. "Come here," they'd say, already reaching for you. "I need to kiss you before my next appointment."

Anjali: Would want to be proposed to, and she'd want it done during a holiday or family gathering. She doesn't necessarily want a grand spectacle. But there's something very satisfying to her about the people who matter witnessing that moment of official approval. Hers, yours, and to some extent, theirs.
Dmitry: Would want to be the one to propose. He'd do something classic: a nice date, good food, maybe a walk afterward somewhere quiet and pretty. Nothing flashy or designed to make other people look over. Just the two of you, somewhere intimate, with him probably a little nervous even though he's known for ages that he wants to ask.
Jong-woo: Doesn't mind being proposed to, but if he's the one doing it, he's making it sentimental. He'd take you through a whole trip down memory lane, asking if you remembered all the sweet or silly things that happened. Each stop is tied to some cute little moment in your relationship. Then he'd bring you somewhere new, grin like he's about to burst, and say, "Remember when I proposed to you? And you said yes? Please say yes."
Kailee: She's getting proposed to, dammit! She wants the moment. She wants the romance. She wants the lighting. Something in the summer, at the beach in the early evening, right as the sun is about to set. Also, you have to give her some kind of warning disguised as not-warning so she can make sure her outfit is right and her nails are done.
Kalea: Doesn't mind who proposes, but she'd want it to be lowkey and deeply personal. At home, maybe with a scrapbook, a handwritten letter, or some small keepsake tied to your relationship. Something sweet enough to make her cry, but private enough that she doesn't have to cry in front of strangers.
Linden: Doesn't want to get married, and they also wouldn't be interested in faking a proposal for free stuff. They may not be a fan of the institution, but they wouldn't want to be disingenuous about it or turn someone else's idea of commitment into a joke. They'd probably just buy you the ice cream themselves and call that the better deal.
Lu: They have expensive taste, obviously, but they wouldn't make the proposal into a giant spectacle. If anything, they'd already have the ring picked out ages before they actually asked. They'd carry it around because they're waiting for the version of themself that can say it without flinching. Then, one day, with very little warning, they’d look at you and say, "I don't want anyone else. I don't want you with anyone else. I want you with me."
Makai: Would propose with something very him, like a mini lesson at home titled "The History of Us." There'd be a chalkboard and notes and a timeline. He'd make you raise your hand to answer questions while he very matter-of-factly, but sincerely went through the moments he fell more in love with you.
Marcel: Doesn't want to get married. However, if free things are involved? You're about to receive the most extravagant fake proposal of your life. Of course, you can't do it too often or people might start recognizing you, but when the moment calls, Marcel will commit fully. And if you ever travel together, they're definitely telling everyone you're newlyweds on your honeymoon so they can continue reaping the rewards.
Misty: She'd keep it simple, but meaningful. Stargazing, maybe a meteor shower if she can time it right. A blanket in the bed of a truck, cold drinks, the sky wide open overhead.
Santi: They'd do a playful scavenger hunt. Little notes, inside jokes, places that mean something to both of you, maybe a few gifts along the way. They'd want you laughing before you realized you were about to cry happy tears.

First of all, I want to apologize for the delay. I hate not meeting deadlines, but I'm pretty happy I managed to keep a good editing rhythm even when life was… lifeing.
Getting sick, writing a thesis, being an intern... add all of that to a perfectionist who spends hours agonizing over a single paragraph, and you get a delayed passion project 😅
Some notes about the story
In some parts, this chapter is heavier on descriptions than the rest of the story will be, so some scenes might have fewer choices than usual.

And yes, you read it right; this is the full chapter one. I decided to release the whole of chapter one in one go and push the RO reunions to chapter two instead.
