“  i  would  just  like  to  say  something  that  i  should  have  said  before  ,  which  is  i’m  sorry  .  ”  his  words  came  out  heart  felt  as  he  sat  in  head  quarters  with  the  other  .  “  i’m  sorry  for  not  being  the  babysitter  you  all  needed  because  you  clearly  needed  one  .  ”  pausing  to  take  a  sip  of  his  coffee  ,  his  leg  bounced  in  pent  up  frustration  for  being  sentenced  to  another  year  of  overseeing  this  group  .  “  i   mean  ,  i  mostly  blame  myself  for  the  misfortunes  you’ve  had  since  i  was  thrown  into  this  little  team  because  i  know  better  and  could’ve  done  something  to  stop  you  from  nearly  getting  yourselves  killed  again  ––––  you  guys  are  obviously  stupid  .  ”  reaching  forward  ,  he  set  his  mug  down  and  stretched  back  on  the  couch  ,  not  even  bothered  by  how  rude  he  was  to  the  kids  .  “  i  just  want  you  to  know  i’m  going  to  do  better  this  year  .  if  not  for  you  then  for  me  .  ”

          noticing blair the second he stepped into the room, nathan dropped his messenger bag at his desk before making his way over to the coffee maker and poured himself a cup. turning on his heel, nate took a sip, glancing over at blair once more. “ i bet you’re super happy to be back here. ” he said with a chuckle. remembering how much she disliked everything about this stupid group. almost as much as he did. // @blaiirs.

          “ yup, that’s me. ” the sight of daniel back was a beacon of hope for nathan. he couldn’t help, but to be genuinely happy about the males survival for his own selfish gains. “ basically i’m here as a glorified babysitter to make sure no one else dies while around or on the team. ” nate still had no idea how the school hadn’t disbanded this club after the first murder, but still after the third they were still going strong. waving off his concern, nate felt confident in his chances of ending his position with the team. “ i doubt netflix even know’s i exist. so it’s all good man, your precious show will go on happily without me as i will without all of this. ” he waved his hands around the headquarters. “ no problem. i have to report to the board tonight so i will gladly take that off your plate. ”

          “ oh, hey daniel, wait up ! ” jogging lightly to catch up to the kid, nathan beamed at the sight of him. that the little fucker was actually alive and it wasn’t some weird ass dream he’d had the night before. “ you have no idea how happy i am to see you man— and not on fuckin netflix or old video clips naomi cries over on a daily basis. ” nate rolled his eyes at the memory of the bugger bubbles that girl could summon after their ‘death’. “ anyway, i’m not sure how long i’ll be around here. i’m hoping the board will relieve me from this position since you and what’s her face are alive and well. speaking of, have you gotten a chance to stop by the deans office at all ? ya know, to let them know you didn’t actually die on campus ? ” // @daniellovestohavefun.

          “ and thank god for that. i didn’t think it could get any worse and then i had to spend my summer with you jokers. ” sipping from his coffee cup, nathan smirked. surprised at isaiahs lack of a reaction to his negativity. “ thats cute. are you gonna coordinate your costumes too ? ”

          “ that’s probably because all the outdoor pools have closed and no one is gonna buy pool noodles anymore. i mean, there’s probably more christmas shit than halloween crap because no one actually cares about this season. well, except for you, obviously. ”

          “ well, your welcome. sorry my lack of emotion kinda makes me sound like an even bigger ass than i already am, but your welcome.. i guess. ” he was pretty sure the others words were riddled with sarcasm, but in true annoying nathan fashion, he’s accept his thank you. ” yes i’m serious. ” his voice was flat and lacked any hint of emotion as he stared blankly at isaiah. “ an actual vacation perhaps ? ever been on one ? like, beaches, fruity drinks that get you fucked up, and best of all, no investigating bullshit. ” as he did his best to paint a picture that the male would appeal to, nathan was desperate to distract the team from normal operations. “ go where ever you want, but i suggest getting out of your comfort zone. no cabins or tents. pack a bag, get on a plane, and relax on a island resort for a week. ”

           drumming his fingers on his macbook once he had it placed on the desk, nate flashed a glance over to the mini fridge where zach had been filling with drinks. “ i kind of have to be. no more skipping out like i have been. fun’s over. ” quickly logging into his laptop, nathan leaned back into his chair, glancing at the male. “ i know you’re just an intern, but why is it you guys still play ghostbusters during the summer ? don’t you guys have lives outside of school ? ”

          “ i guess that depends on where you want to go. if you want to stay in the u.s. , then you’d probably be able to keep things fairly cheap. but if you want to go to an island somewhere outside of the u.s.— which i highly recommend, it will be more expensive. ” nathan was desperate for this team to go on a trip that had no investigative crap occurring. he also knew the group pretty well at this point and knew that was highly unlikely. at least if they were on a resort, he could slip away and not be stranded in the woods. “ just tell the netflix folks that it’s for the show and i’m sure they’d love to fund it. ” he wasn’t sure if that would work or not, but if there was one group of people that could find a “haunting” in paradise, this was the one. 

         “ i don’t know. i’ve seen some pretty wild book clubs. it just depends on your taste in genre. ” it wasn’t a secret that nathan was a book nerd. he was getting his masters in literature so, of course he loved to read and of course he’d been in his fair share of clubs. “ huh, well at least you’re where you want to be and that’s all that matters i guess. ” he tried to keep his judgement from his tone, but failed miserably.  he couldn’t help it. this whole club was a complete joke in his eyes

          “ mhm, keep telling yourself that. ” the fact that she was denying that was comical. she’d been in the group longer than most the members and you’d have to really love it to still have the energy to go stay in an abandoned building in the middle of nowhere. “ nah, i think i’m gonna participate next time. try and figure out why the fuck you kids love this shit so much. will be good research for my book. ” taking a sip from his now cold coffee, nathan smiled before turning his attention to his laptop.

          “ well, am i wrong ? i get it. it sucks and i’m sorry you lost your sister, but you can’t expect me to understand why all of you are still doing this. i mean, every time you leave campus on some ‘ investigation ’, someone almost dies. i mean fuck man. find a new hobby ! ” he’d admit that he felt a tiny bit bad about how insensitive he’d been to the group. they had lost friends and to some family and that was never easy. “ i don’t know man, maybe it’s because i don’t get why you do this, but how many times do you guys have to hear the same shit before it registers. the things you do are extremely dangerous and your track record proves that you are’t really the best. so excuse me if i’m over stepping with my bitching and moaning, but i feel like it’s kind of necessary for someone to verbalize how stupid something is. ” this was probably the most the two have spoken since they met. nathan could admire his determination and heart, but that was about it. “ i’ll make you a deal. i’ll lighten up on the complaining and the sarcasm if you agree to go on a trip that has zero investigative shit. if you ask me, you and your team need a break. a chance to let loose and i could probably guarantee that upon your return, everyone will be ready to work again. not burnt out like they are now. ”

          it wasn’t difficult to catch on to sofia sarcasm and though it was annoying, he could appreciate it because sarcasm was kind of his brand. “ oh it feels stupendous. turns out that if you do a shitty job, they force you to stay instead of finding an advisor that is more suitable to the group. that’s the shitty school system for ya. ” it was obvious that nathan was bitter about his current predicament, but he knew he needed to make the best of the summer unless he wanted to be completely miserable.

          giving kimi a look that resembled one of shock, nathan’s lips turned up slightly. it was surprising to hear those word from kimberly. he didn’t wanna say she seemed a little shady, but she definitely had rather odd intentions of showing up day in and day out. “ what was this the only group accepting new members ? you couldn’t have joined like a book club or something ? ”

          “ what ?  no—  not a camping trip, jesus. what is up with you guys ? i’m talking like going on a real vacation. beaches, bikinis, booze. not on another goat adventure. ” nathan was seriously appalled at this groups idea of a good time. “ well where you guys go, i have to go to and i hope and pray it’s not on a camping trip. ” shaking his head, nathan was growing more and more annoyed with his current situation. to a point where he was thinking of changing schools all together just to get away from this. “ it’s always great to have goals ashley and i think you’d make an excellent addition to any pr agency someday. ”

          “ because i know it drives you kids insane. almost as much as you do me. ” flashing a cocky grin, nathan knew isaiah didn’t like him. that fact didn’t bother him as most people didn’t. but he couldn’t help but to think how much more the guy would hate him when he found out about him and ashley. nathan was expecting him to learn that little fact eventually. of course he didn’t care enough to be the one to break the news to the poor guy, but secrets always had a way of surfacing. “ fine by me bud. just try not to kill off any more of your team. it’s getting pretty slim-pickins around here. ”

          shrugging his shoulders, nate pulled out his laptop and began logging in before his focus was pulled back to kimberly. “ yeah okay— have you met the people on this team ? it’s like they enjoy having the police investigating everyone for murder. an odd kink to have if you ask me. ” leaning back in his desk chair, nathan folded his hands behind his head, eyeing kimi with a questioning look. “ what’s your deal ? why are you on this team anyway ? you seem to hate it as much as i do the only difference is i’m forced to be here.. ”
