It was hot outside. Training during the heat would add quite an extra bit of strain to this. Some avoided it. He could understand that with the kids but an enemy sure would not refrain from attacking just because it was warm. So better build up that stamina ne?

The comment made him grin boardly under the mask.

"For someone who does not want to fight you are quite confident that you will be able to engage me on that training field for quite some time apparently. The meeting is not in 5 minutes after all. Also I have nothing to say to them." The last sentence came out harsher than intended. Kakashi had had far too many very angering and tiresome meetings in the last couple of weeks with the council. Shikamaru knew that. It was rare that Kakadhi lost his cool. He had occasionally.

Shikamaru's hands found themselves comfortably settled in his pockets as per usual as they made their way down the streets on Konoha toward the training grounds. Yes, it was warm outside and quite nice when just strolling like this, but it'd be a drag later for sure. But yes, it was always good to be able to fight in any weather situation... no matter how tiresome it was.

Oh, he's trying hard to look annoyed and roll his eyes, but that sweet smile mixed with slight embarrassment is not difficult to see... Obito, you make this man blush too easily. Swoon.

Shikamaru reached for Obito's face and pulled him into a kiss, smiling against his lips when breaking it off.

"I actually wanted to, ...kind of surprise you, I guess... by showing up–– or rather; sneak into your place last night but you weren't there, so... mission failed." Ouff, he felt so stupid and childish even having that cliché idea, but it was what it was.

"Be sure to yell that aboved the ground where you buried Hidan alive. I'm sure he'd like to know just how many people are better than you so he knows just how much of a loser he really is ne?" Kakashi replied.

Shikamaru must know that this futile attempt getting out of it would definitely lead to him being on the training grounds within the hour.

"Maa...I see..." he said arching one eyebrow, looking at Shikamaru massaging his own hand.

"You are so stiff from writing you cannot form seals anymore." Now Kakashi was on his feet, getting rid of that ridiculous Hokage robe and hat he had been wearing for some official business earlier.

"Or did the Hokage let you change to Tech or Intel? No wait....Hokage that's me...no he did not...though Intel I might sign. I could give you great funny identities for recon missions. I'm a very creative person." Not that the Hokage chose these identities. Intel did.

However, as Kakashi continued his quick study of Shikamaru's movements and putting the easy puzzle pieces together revealing there had been too much desk work lately, the familiar dead pan expression of Shikamaru was back in place.

There was no point in arguing anything at this point. He rolled his eyes as Kakashi walked out the door and Shikamaru let out a heavy sigh, but spun on his heel and followed, catching up with the other man.

Once outside the building, he squinted when the sun hit him in the eyes for a few seconds.
