Last time, Goku fell of Snake Way and landed in Hell.Β Β He tried to help himself to a fruit tree, but he got beat up by Goz, the blue ogre seen here.Β Β According to him and Mez, the fruit on this tree is reserved for King Yemma alone.Β Β Β
Back on Earth, Launch has followed Tien and Chiaotzu to Korinβs Tower, but she doesnβt know how to keep following them up to Kamiβs Lookout.Β Β
She raids Boraβs home for something she can use, which naturally attracts Boraβs attention.
Then she sneezes and her other self is kind of embarassed about the whole βarmed robberyβ thing.Β Β I thought I had a better shot of Upa all grown up, but I guess not.
Back in Hell, Goz and Mez are delighted to have Goku around to pick on, so they take turns.Β Β Goz challenges him to a sumo match, wagering Gokuβs soul against a means to get back up to Snake Way.Β Β Goku accepts, despite the fact that Gozβs strength is second only to King Yemma.
Needless to say, Goku wins easily.Β
Gozβs big idea to help Goku is just a big see-saw.Β Β Β Heβll jump on one side and add that force to Gokuβs jump, and that should be enough to get him high enough to reach Snake Way.Β Β Iβm not sure I get the physics of that, but itβs Hell.Β Β Β Β That pond back there is full of blood.Β Β Whose blood is it?Β Best not to ask.
The trick nearly works, so Goku adds the propulsion of his Kamehameha to make up the difference.Β Β Β While heβs at it, hereβs a nice aerial view of Hell for ya.
The problem is that it doesnβt matter how high Goku can jump, because thereβs some kind of invisible barrier preventing him from getting back up to Snake Way.
While this is going on, Mez is busy taking roll call of all the damned souls who have to climb the mountain of needles today.Β Β
He finally takes his own turn against Goku and challenges him to a footrace.Β Β If Goku manages to catch him, heβll show him a secret passage out of Hell.
So Mez lead Goku on a merry chase, but he still manages to stay ahead.Β Β He boasts that heβs the second fastest ogre, after Yemma himself, and that actually seems to matter, unlike Gozβs strength.
But then Goku heads for the forbidden fruit tree, and Mez starts chasing him, because heβll get in trouble if Goku takes any of the fruit.
So all Goku has to do is turn around and grab him, which he does.Β Β Checkmate!Β Yahtzee!Β Β I just sunk your battleship.
Mez is upset over losing, but heβs not allowed to lie or break his word, so he shows Goku the secret passage.Β Β Theyβre happy to be rid of him at this point, but Goku reveals that he swiped some fruit while he was there, and he eats and leaves before they can do anything about it.Β Β Β
But the ogres get the last laugh (literally, we see them laughing right before this scene).Β Β The passageway leads to King Yemmaβs desk drawer.Β Β Β So not only does Goku meet King Yemma in an awkward momentβ¦
But now heβs back at the very start of Snake Way, which means heβs even further behind than he was before.Β Β Β The moral of the story is: donβt fall asleep on the back of a street-sweeper.
Meanwhile, the Saiyans are on their way, yadda yadda.Β Β Β I like this still because it looks like Vegeta is just enjoying Nappaβs company.Β Β Β Β βOh, we do have fun, donβt we, Nappa?β
