Brandon nodded a little bit at her words, not surprised by them. “I’m not just saying this to be a dick, I swear, I just don’t think it’s a very good idea. Something like that will stay with you forever if people find out, it’d go on your transcript. And as much as I’m sure the money is great, tutoring or a part time job is so much easier and probably less stressful than this.” He tried to explain to her. “And don’t think I don’t think you’ve considered all this already, because I’m sure you have.” He quickly added onto the end. He didn’t want her thinking that he thought she was some stupid girl who’d do anything for money. “Maia does that for a few extra bucks. I’m sure there are electronics stores that need people who actually know what they’re doing…”

After taking the USB out and twirling the little device around her index finger, Naomi had Brandon’s words replay in her head. It was true, things were getting much harder now, and she was going through extreme lengths to do what she did. Yet, the only reason she continued was because she found joy in the entire thing. It wasn’t breaking into the office and being able to change other student’s grades that made her happy, but more so the work that went into the whole thing computer wise. “Alright, fine, I won’t do it anymore,” she rolled her eyes before handing him her USB. “I’m even giving you this, so you know I’m being serious. I’ll stick to fixing laptops and phones.”

Brandon pursed his lips and let a breath out through his nose, looking up and down the halls again before glancing back at her. “You have two minutes, then I’m turning and leaving… this hall gets busy between popular class times.” He explained. “And if we get caught, I’m saying you blackmailed me.” That was more a joke, but still… this kind of thing stressed him out more than it should.

“If I never got in trouble for this, then you wouldn’t either,” Naomi reassured as her fingers began typing away on the computer. “It’s their fault more than anything, really, they’re the ones teaching me this sort of stuff,” shrugging her shoulders, she glanced over at Brandon, laughing softly at the obvious look of worry in his face. “You need to relax. It’s after hours, so nobody’s even awake right now.”

“I have two projects left to complete, three textbooks to read over twice,  I have a meeting with several investors and a student broke his laptop which I need to fix,” she ran her hand through her hair. “So much to do and there’s not enough time.”

"I can fix the laptop," Naomi offered. "It'll at least take some of the stress off, which you already seem to have plenty of, plus I haven't fixed anything in a while."

Brandon frowned at the girl’s words and hesitated, looking around. “What are you looking for, exactly?” The british boy asked cautiously, crossing his arms. As much as he was up for helping people out most of the time, breaking a serious school rule wasn’t exactly what he had in mind. “I’m pretty sure this is illegal.”

“I just need to check for what security system their using on their computer since I can’t break through myself,” Naomi sighed, running her hands across her face before looking over at Brandon. “Please? It’s just this once. If they really had some kind of problem with me doing this then they shouldn’t teach me this, you know? Please? Five minutes.”

“You’d probably be ready to leave your first night.. but then again, who wouldn’t?” Margo laughed nevertheless, and let her gaze wander as the girl spoke to her. “Alright, I’ll trust you on that then.” She then raised her brows at the others’ words, “That’s interesting. But why do you want in the system anyways?”

“If you need your grade changed, then I’m your girl,” Naomi answered. “It’s how I make money considering I have zero people skills at all, clearly,” she laughed once more as her eyes never left the computer screen. “I mean, thankfully, nobody here snitched me out yet, so keeping that little info between you and I would be great.”

“Ha, so this is what you needed a friend for? Breaking rules, Talbot. I’ll call you that from now on.”

“Oh, come on, I fixed your phone one time didn’t I? You could pay me back for that by keeping look out,” her eyes stayed glued to the computer, typing as fast as she could to get done with what she needed to do. “You’re not scared are you?”

Cris hesitated at the girl’s words, not really keen on the idea of getting mixed into someone else’s trouble. “Ehh..” the boy trailed off, shifting his weight from foot to foot, eventually giving in. “How long will you be?”

“I won’t be more than five minutes, I swear,” Naomi replied as her focus was mostly on the computer in front of her. “You won’t get in trouble. I do this sort of thing a lot and they never find out nor care half the time.”

“Always, baby.” Hunter leaned against the wall, trying to look as casual as possible. He didn’t see or hear anyone coming, but it was better to be safe than sorry. “Nah, if they really knew what was up, we wouldn’t even have gotten in here. As long as there’s no security you’re good.”

A few minutes later, Naomi took out her USB from the computer and made sure nothing was out of place and was left exactly as how she found it when she got in. She leaned against the doorway, looking out into the empty hallway, nobody in sight. “Yeah, that’s true, the fact that I can just get in here and completely trash their security system really shows how bad ass they are,” she fiddled around with the USB in her hand before looking back over at Hunter. “Thanks, by the way, everyone else was too scared.”

Margo laughed as well as she looked back at the girl and shook her head. “I didn’t say I’m worried about going to jail. I just said are you prepared to go to jail if we do get caught?” To be honest, Margo wasn’t even a tad bit worried. She was used to doing these things solo at her high school. “You sure you don’t need help? I’ve had my share time with school systems, you know..” Despite saying this, her eyes had lifted from the girl and moved to the hall outside the office, and she leaned back nonchalantly on the office door threshold.

“Am I prepared to go to jail? Heck no. I’m not even meant for jail,” she said with laughter. “I know what I’m doing though and I’m not stupid enough to leave anything that might give me away,” she shook her head at her offer. “I’m good. I’ve done this before. It’s their first time actually trying to put up something stronger though. I guess Charlton’s finally not being stupid.”

“Not gonna lie, out of all the things that could go to jail for,  I never expected it to be just for being an accomplice. ” Hunter laughed. “But I’m your man. And if someone is coming, I’m good at distracting them so you can slip away.”

“I knew I could count on you,” she said as her eyes remained focused on the computer in front of her. “I didn’t think I’d have to actually sneak in here this late to still be able to change grades though. I think they’re finally starting to take notice something’s going on.”
