Finito!
I'm so pleased the way everything has turned out, and once I realised I didn't have to put so much pressure on myself to do screenprints I found the design process a lot more enjoyable and relaxed. The time constraints that screenprint put me under in terms of getting finalised designs done by a certain week made the preliminary results looked rushed and unfinished. I'm so happy with my decision to take more time and care over the details because I feel it has benefited in the long run. I didn't want to screen print for the sake of screen printing at the cost of making posters I didn't feel totally satisfied with producing. This is a big lesson I have learned! Please find included in my portfolio case some examples of screenprint that I trialed.
I've enjoyed this project thoroughly from the research stages finding the facts, to coming up with creative solutions to communicating them as a series. Although I've had a few hiccups in terms of printing I feel I have learned a lot about the necessity of using certain processes and how it can have an effect on the work itself. Although it was stressful and frustrating at the time I am glad I pushed through because I felt towards the end a sense of achievement at doing what I set out to do (in a way totally different to what I first imagined).
For my next projects I want to explore the area of design and typography a lot more, whilst I do love hand and computer drawn imagery I'm keen to broaden my skillset and try lots of new things!
