According to our research, there seems to be a higher percentage of “ghouls,” “jack o’ lanterns,” and “pumpkin-flavored treats” being spread around. Yes, there’s no mistaking: it’s time to get excited for Splatoween!

Both Inklings and Octolings are going batty about this special Splatfest happening later this month. The spooky celebration runs from Friday, 10/19 at 3pm PT, to Sunday, 10/21 at 3pm PT - 48 hours total!  

Speaking of treats, you can get special in-game treats! Via an upcoming Nintendo Switch News article scheduled for this Friday, 10/5, you’ll be able to receive four different pieces of spooky headgear. You will need to follow the Squid Research Lab Report (Splatoon 2) News Channel on your Nintendo Switch, and launch the Splatoon 2 game from the corresponding news article. If you haven’t followed the channel yet, now is a great time to consider it!

You will receive: • Kyonshi Hat • Li’l Devil Horns • Hockey Mask • Anglerfish Mask

But that’s not all! While the above link spills the beans on the updates coming tonight, we received a scoop on even more updates coming in an additional future update.

The Nautilus 47 is a new Splatling-type weapon. For the first time in the Splatling category, this weapon allows you to store your charge. Its subdued tin texture and various functions will surely tickle the heart of weapon fanatics.

The Bloblobber is a new Slosher-type weapon. We heard that after the blob law was passed, the Bloblobber was created to lob lawful blob bombs. Four blobs are emitted with each fling, and flow forward and rebound off the ground and walls. Carefully drive your opponents into a corner and throw the blobs for a tactical splat!

Last but not least, Ancho-V Games will soon be making its return as a battle stage. The setting is inside the offices of the developers of the hit-game “Squid Beatz 2”.

Agent 8 has arrived! Explore 80 new single-player missions as the Octoling Agent 8, and help recover their memory in the Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion DLC!

Kirby also floats, suggesting either A) he is lighter than the atmospheric pressure and gravity affecting him and can propel himself through the atmosphere or B) he is strong enough to conteract those forces. Both of which suggest Kirby is not fat or excess skin, but muscle. He is also depicted as smooth and without imperfections as if to suggest that inflated kirby has no stretching of his skin. Smaller kirby and Larger kirby can have different volumes, indicating Kirby has excess skin which can retract into his body when not in use. Which would be able to reside in the chasm of Kirby, that is contracted and relaxed.

So while he may be soft and squishy when deflated, I think Kirby when he has taken in air is much more like a basketball, firm and stiff thanks to the extension (possible hyperextension) of his muscles. Kirby is softer when not inflated due to the relaxtaion of his muscles although the moistness is a variable I am unable to comprehend at this time.

Breaking News from the latest Nintendo Direct! The first paid DLC is coming to Splatoon 2 this summer. Players will take on the role of an Octoling for the very first time in this large-scale downloadable content! This full-on single-player adventure spans 80 missions starring Agent 8, a new character who awakens without her memories on a dark subway platform. Navigate this mysterious underground test facility in a desperate battle to reach the surface of Inkopolis. Escape from these twisted depths, and it seems you’ll finally be able to join multiplayer matches as an Octoling! How is this possible!? Does this mean we now need an Octopus Research branch too?

In addition to paid DLC, the Nintendo Direct presentation also included details on a major free update (Version 3.0) coming late April that will bring 100+ new pieces of gear, more stages rolling out throughout spring (Piranha Pit, Camp Triggerfish and Wahoo World) and a new rank (Rank X). Rank X appears to be an extreme rank, even higher than S+.
