 “Mrrw…”

Akane turned around, trying to find the source of the noise. That sounded like a cat. 

Of course, it turned out she was only part right, ans a small boy with cat ears and a tail stepped out of the shadows.

“Sorry… Did you get a message? I’m thinking everyone I see got one.” The boy said, holding up his phone to show her the message he had gotten.

Akane nodded, reading the message. “Yeah, I did. That’s actually exactly like the one I got!” Akane looked the message over one more time, then around at the people passing by.  If they had gotten a message too, wouldn’t they be looking for a partner as well? And since they were apparently on a time limit,  ”I don’t think anyone else here is looking for a partner, though.”

The little boy put his phone back into his pocket, and then latched onto Akane’s arm, purring and whimpering.

 “Can we be partners? Pleaaaaaaaase? Whoever did this stole my diamond! And I need it back!” 

"Whoa! OK, Ok! Calm down!" Akane said, trying to work her arm free of the catboy.  ”Sure, I’ll be your partner.” Akane said. 

 I mean, I guess I could partner with this kid? It’s not like anyone here looks like they need a partner. 

She looked around again, as people continued to walk right past the pair.

【 ✧ ☆ ✧ 】; Blinking, he remembered a sign. "We have two routes. Through here, which I think is called Dogenzaka, or through A-East and the Shibuki Main Store. Both lead to this Building 104. I'm good with routes, so don't worry about getting lost."

【 ✧ ☆ ✧ 】; Grinning at her, he managed to whisper into her ear. "That, and if we ever need something and have no money, I can easily steal it without problem. They don't call me a phantom thief for nothing, you know."

"Uh, what?" Akane said looking at the incoming text in confusion. Suddenly,  she felt a burning sensation on her left hand.

"Ah-!"  Akane looked at her hand in reflex. A bright red timer appeared on her hand, slowly ticking down.

What the hell?!  Akane thought, looking from her left hand to the phone in her right. Is this how long I have to do this? 

"A-all right, then. Time to find a partner…And 104."  Akane said, walking onwards. 

To be fair, her knowledge of Shibuya’s surroundings wasn’t all that great. It’s not like she lived here, after all. 

【 ✧ ☆ ✧ 】; Peter wanted his diamond back! The little purple gem helped him steal the contractor's eyes, it completed his tasks. The message was on his phone, blaring at him. How strange. He couldn't reply! The thief sighed, sticking to the shadows.

【 ✧ ☆ ✧ 】; He knew Shibuya, just not this version of Shibuya. The routes were pretty similar, so he had no trouble getting into Dogenzaka. Noticing the girl ahead of him, he flounced over, still in the shadows.

【 ✧ ☆ ✧ 】; "Mrrw..." An involuntary purr escaped his lips. Crap, she probably heard it. Stepping from the shadows, the small demon probably was much shorter than Akane. After all, he was only 4'10"! "Sorry... Did you get a message? I'm thinking everyone I see got one."

"Wait…This is Shibuya. What the hell am I doing all the way in Tokyo?"  

I’d have to get on the train to get out here. I wouldn’t just randomly come up here for no reason.

Before she could consider that train of thought any further, someone bumped into her and let out a cat like yell.

"WHAT THE-"

Akane turned around and spotted a blonde haired boy with cat ears and a tail. 

【 ✧ ☆ ✧ 】; Getting up, he dusted his hands off before huffing. "Someone in a costume? Excuse me, princess, but if you stopped to notice, I don't have human ears." Eyelashes parting to reveal azure tints with cat pupils, it seems he was telling the truth.

【 ✧ ☆ ✧ 】; "I'm not human, princess." The S's in ' princess ' seemed stressed, almost hissed out with the force of his barely contained sass. Stretching a little, he felt the insane need to stick close to this girl.

【 ✧ ☆ ✧ 】; "Mmm... I feel a little helpless, though... Don't you?" Pointing to four strings just tied together, he huffed. "Someone stole my diamond. My diamond! Who steals from a thief demon!?" An angry mewl parted from his lips.

【 ✧ ☆ ✧ 】; "No one steals from Peter! I am a thief demon, and one of the best! I refuse to be stolen from!" And suddenly, his anger dissipated, and it was soon replaced with embarrassment. "Oh... What will the other thieves say about me now?" Ears laying flat against his head, he whined softly.
