A random opinion that I believe is unpopular is that it doesn't matter if an author when writing smut put "agedup!character" or something like that, it's still wrong if the character is canonically underage. Like, why would you want to write +18 content for a 12-year-old character and say it's okay because you put that they're 20 in the fanfic? I find that very ... suspicious at least, idk

Here’s my attempt at a translation of the BSD third light novel, Untold Story of the Founding of the Detective Agency. This rambling post talks about the what and why. Done partly for practice, but mostly out of love for the incredible original.
* * *
The book has two stories, both pretty much standalones. The first, shorter one, tells the story of the ADA planning Atsushi’s entrance exam. No plans to translate that one, but it is not tied to the main story.
The rest of the book is Untold Story itself.
What happens when the youngest member of KATSEYE starts to feel drawn to the visual from HYBE’s newest boy group? Only to realise that she isn’t the only idol who’s interested…⋆୨୧˚
The restaurant was barely large enough for twelve people.
Technically it wasn't even a restaurant. It was one of those tiny Korean corner shops hidden behind office buildings, the sort of place trainees discovered through word of mouth and guarded like state secrets. The sign outside was faded. The tables didn't match. The owner seemed perpetually unimpressed by everyone.
Which was precisely why they liked it. The evening crowd had thinned by the time they arrived. A few office workers occupied the far corner while the owner watched television behind the counter.
Twelve idols entering at once should have attracted attention. Instead, the woman merely looked up once before pointing toward the back section.
"Don't break anything."
They immediately burst out laughing.
Several tables were pushed together and the seating arrangement happened naturally enough.
At least initially.
Within minutes people began switching places, stealing food from neighboring plates, and abandoning their original seats entirely.
By the time the first dishes arrived, the arrangement barely resembled the one they'd started with.
Na-rae found herself seated between Megan and Juhoon. Not because anyone planned it, mostly because nobody had bothered planning anything.
The conversation bounced around the table continuously. One moment it was rehearsal stories, next it was embarrassing trainee experiences, then it became an argument about which member would survive longest in the Hunger Games.
The discussion lasted almost twenty minutes despite nobody possessing relevant expertise.
Juhoon contributed very little.
Na-rae noticed that he tended to listen more than he spoke in larger groups. Most of the time he seemed content observing the chaos unfolding around him. It made the moments when he did speak more noticeable.
At some point a bowl of kimchi jjigae was passed down the table.
Before Na-rae could reach for it, Juhoon had already taken it and set it in front of her without looking up from the conversation. The action happened so casually that neither of them acknowledged it.
A few minutes later she returned the favour with a plate someone was asking for from the opposite side.
The exchange lasted less than three seconds. Nobody commented. The conversation continued uninterrupted. Still, there was something strangely comfortable about it.
Eventually dinner stretched into dessert, then drinks, then another thirty minutes nobody had intended to spend there.
The owner eventually informed them that if they planned to remain all night, they should at least order something else.
Megan apologised and proceeded to order more food.
Hours seemed to pass unusually quickly. The restaurant owner eventually stopped pretending she wanted them to leave and brought out extra drinks on the house.
Outside, the sky had darkened completely. The city glowed softly beyond the windows, nobody seemed particularly eager to end the night.
It was Sophia who suggested a walk first. The idea spread through the group almost immediately.
The weather was good, the streets were relatively quiet. And most importantly, nobody had schedules early enough the next morning to object.
The city felt different at night.
Softer.
Less hurried.
Streetlights reflected against glass buildings while distant traffic rolled through the background like white noise. Groups naturally formed and reformed as they walked. Some people lingered near the front. Others fell behind. Conversations split apart before merging again a few minutes later.
At some point after that, Juhoon had ended up beside her. Neither of them acknowledged the transition, it just simply happened.
They walked in comfortable silence for a while. Ahead of them, Megan was attempting to convince half the group to visit an arcade. Behind them, James and Martin appeared trapped in another pointless debate.
The city stretched around them. For once, nobody seemed in a hurry.
Juhoon glanced toward a convenience store they were passing.
"You know what's funny?" He started, looking at the shorter girl beside him.
Na-rae looked over. "What?"
"I spent that whole day planning our vlog. I even almost made an itinerary."
She stared at him and softly chuckled. "I didn't know you were so excited to see us."
"You." He corrected so fast she hadn't even registered what he said before he changed topics. "But the livestream was fun, though."
She nodded in agreement, sipping on her semi-diluted Coca Cola that she still hadn't finished from dinner.
"You seem to be really popular among the MEOVV girls." Juhoon glanced back at Na-rae, "They kept looking at you during the livestream. I counted about fifteen times."
"Were you really that bored?" She laughed.
"It just caught my attention. Plus, I don't blame them." The last sentence trailed off into a sort-of whisper. Na-rae furrowed her eyebrows in confusion.
"What do you mean?" She tilted her head towards him.
"You're hard not to stare at." He smiled softly, then quickly looked away; clearly shocked by his own sudden boldness.
Na-rae's eyes widened. She had been called outright beautiful by many people before. But for some reason, this subtle comment made her feel so much more than the others. Maybe it was because of who it was said by.
Or maybe it was because he clearly hadn't meant to say it out loud.
For the first time since she'd met him, Juhoon seemed completely lost for words. The realisation almost made her smile.
Beside her, he had suddenly become very interested in the traffic passing on the road ahead.
A bus rolled past.
Then a taxi.
Then another bus.
Na-rae was fairly certain he wasn't actually looking at any of them.
"You know," she began carefully, fighting back a grin, "for someone who planned an entire itinerary, you're surprisingly bad at recovering from conversations."
Juhoon immediately groaned, Na-rae stifling her laughter beside him.
Nobody noticed.
At least, nobody in the group did.
The walk continued for another half hour before managers finally started calling. Nobody seemed particularly enthusiastic about leaving. Every attempt to end a conversation somehow led to another one.
What was supposed to be a quick dinner had somehow become an entire evening.
By the time they eventually split up, the streets were noticeably quieter.
Na-rae climbed into KATSEYE's van expecting to immediately pass out. Instead, she spent most of the ride listening to Megan and Daniela argue about whether basketball required a lot of athletic ability. The CORTIS boys had mentioned a future basketball collaboration/hang out and they were immediately intrigued.
When Na-rae finally arrived back at the dorm, it was well past midnight.
She didn't think much about the evening while getting ready for bed. Most of her attention was occupied by finding her charger, answering a few messages from family, and convincing herself she had enough energy to wash her hair.
The compliment only came back to her when she was lying in bed.
Which was annoying, because now there was nothing else to think about.
Her room was dark except for the faint glow of her phone charging across the room. Outside, traffic hummed quietly in the distance.
Na-rae stared at the ceiling. She had been complimented before. Frequently.
Half the people she knew were either models, idols, actors, or all three which meant that compliments happened constantly. Most of them disappearing from her memory within minutes.
Yet for some reason she could still hear Juhoon's voice perfectly.
You're hard not to stare at.
The worst part was that he hadn't even sounded smooth.
If anything, he'd sounded surprised by himself. The memory made her laugh quietly.
Somewhere in Seoul, Juhoon was probably lying awake regretting the entire conversation. The thought was comforting enough that she eventually fell asleep.
The next morning, she woke up to seventeen missed notifications from her group chat.
At first she assumed something had happened in the group chat. Then she saw Sophia's name.
And Megan's.
And Manon's.
And Daniela's.
The messages kept going. A strange sense of dread settled over her.
She ignored them first, focusing on the thousands of notifications flooding in on her other social media accounts
The photo itself wasn't even particularly scandalous.
In fact, if she'd seen it a month ago, she probably would've scrolled past without a second thought.
The problem was that whoever had posted it had cropped out almost everybody else. What remained was a picture of her and Juhoon walking side by side beneath a streetlight.
She remembered the exact moment.
You're hard not to stare at.
Unfortunately, no one else in the group appeared in the photo.
The internet, predictably, had filled in the gaps themselves.
" "they were with 10 other people" okay then explain why every photo i see only has the two of them in it." A comment on Instagram had said.
"i know a man with a crush when i see one" Another netizen had commented.
"he's either in love with her or she's telling the funniest story ever told."
"the fact that they were literally in a group of TWELVE and somehow ended up side by side in every single photo is taking me out."
"my favourite part is that the original source literally says they were with friends. nobody cares about the friends."
"the real victim here is juhoon because i know his members are never letting this go"
The comments went on and on and on. Na-rae found herself scrolling through the endless void of social media. Her eyes were glued to the screen, watching everyone form their own interpretation of what their conversation could've been about.
Then her phone buzzed.
Then it buzzed again.
And again.
By the time Na-rae arrived at practice, the jokes had somehow gotten worse.
What had started as a few screenshots in the group chat had evolved into a full-scale investigation.
Sophia had an entire thread open on her phone dedicated to analysing Juhoon's body language. Daniela was halfway through reading a fan theory that claimed the dinner outing had actually been an elaborate cover-up orchestrated by both groups. Lara had discovered edits. An alarming amount of edits.
Na-rae made the mistake of glancing at one over Daniela's shoulder.
The video was seventeen seconds long, paired with dramatic music and an unnecessarily long slow-mo.
She immediately looked away. "No." Na-rae shook her head and walked in a different direction.
Daniela burst out laughing.
"You haven't even seen the best one."
"I don't want to."
The problem was that nobody seemed interested in respecting her wishes.
Over the next twenty minutes she was shown screenshots, tweets, comments, video compilations, and one particularly impressive flowchart that appeared to connect every public interaction she'd had with Juhoon since his debut.
The fact that most of those interactions had occurred in front of cameras did not seem to matter.
Eventually rehearsal started. The music came on and everyone focused on work.
The conversation moved elsewhere.
At least for KATSEYE.
Across the HYBE building, the situation was considerably worse.
Because while seven people were more than enough to distract each other, five people with unrestricted internet access and entirely too much free time were a far greater threat.
Juhoon realised something was wrong the moment he stepped into the practice room. Normally somebody would've been stretching, somebody would've been dancing absentmindedly in front of the mirror, and Martin would've already found something pointless to argue about with Keonho. Instead, all four of them were gathered on the floor in a loose circle, staring at a phone with the sort of concentration usually reserved for important announcements.
The second the door opened, they all looked up. Nobody said anything immediately, although James was already trying and failing to suppress a grin.
"What happened?"
Martin glanced down at his phone before looking back at him, his expression caught somewhere between concern and amusement.
"You made the news." The sinking feeling arrived immediately. Juhoon didn't even need to ask what kind of news.
Still, he did.
"What news?"
"Oh, you've definitely seen it." Keonho's smile widened.
"We've all seen it," James added helpfully.
Martin turned his phone around and the photograph filled the screen.
Juhoon recognised it instantly.
It had been taken during the walk after dinner. He could remember the exact stretch of pavement, the exact streetlight hanging overhead, and the exact conversation he'd been having with Na-rae when the photo was snapped. What he couldn't understand was where everyone else had gone.
The original scene had been crowded. Now for some reason, all of those people had somehow vanished.
The photo had been cropped so aggressively that it looked like he'd spent the evening wandering through Seoul alone with Na-rae.
Juhoon stared at the image for a moment before glancing up at the headline. When he looked back down again, it somehow seemed even worse.
"That's ridiculous."
Nobody disagreed. But unfortunately, nobody looked particularly sympathetic either.
Martin had already moved on to the comments section, scrolling with the sort of excitement people usually reserved for something way more important.
"Oh, this one's good."
"I don't want to hear it." Juhoon waved his hand dismissively.
Martin ignored him, much to his dismay.
"'I know a man with a crush when I see one.'"
James folded forward laughing while Keonho nearly dropped his phone altogether, and even Seonghyeon, who normally remained detached from most forms of chaos, looked visibly entertained by the situation.
Juhoon covered his face with one hand. The gesture turned out to be a mistake.
"Oh my god, look at him."
"He's actually blushing."
"I'm not blushing."
"You absolutely are."
"I'm literally not."
Keonho was already scrolling again.
"No, wait. This one's even better." Juhoon didn't like that sentence. Not even a little.
"'The real victim here is Juhoon because I know his members are never letting this go.'"
For a brief moment, the room fell quiet as everyone considered the comment.
"That's fair."
The room dissolved into laughter again.
The worst part was that every attempt Juhoon made to defend himself only seemed to generate new material. Explaining that twelve people had attended the outing led to questions about why he somehow appeared beside Na-rae in every photograph. Pointing out that the photos were cropped resulted in Keonho insisting that fate appeared personally invested in removing everyone else from the frame. Even trying to ignore them wasn't particularly effective because Martin had already committed himself to reading comments aloud for the foreseeable future.
By the time rehearsal was supposed to start, Keonho had stopped reading the article entirely and was now fully invested in the comments section, occasionally making noises of delight whenever he found something particularly incriminating. James had developed a worrying interest in public opinion, and Martin was saving screenshots into a folder that Juhoon suspected would be weaponised later.
The conversation only began to die down once music started playing through the speakers and everyone finally remembered they had work to do. Water bottles were collected, bags were pushed aside, and people gradually shifted into rehearsal mode. For a few minutes, Juhoon allowed himself to believe the situation had passed.
Then, while stretching, Seonghyeon glanced up from his phone.
"You and Na-rae." The room became interested again almost instantly.
"What about us?"
"I don't know," Seonghyeon replied. "You just end up next to each other a lot."
The comment shouldn't have been difficult to dismiss. The problem was that Seonghyeon wasn't teasing him. Not even a laugh.
He sounded genuinely thoughtful, as though he were pointing out a completely ordinary observation that had only just occurred to him.
Across the room, James looked seconds away from losing the battle he was fighting against his own laughter, while Martin wasn't even pretending anymore.
Juhoon opened his mouth to argue before pausing unexpectedly.
Because, annoyingly enough, he couldn't immediately think of a response. And judging by everyone else's faces, they noticed that too.
Na-rae stared at the last message for a moment before locking her phone.
Across the HYBE headquarters, Juhoon was probably being bullied by his members again. The thought made her laugh despite herself.

highkey make a childhood bf thingy with juhoon that they have been dating since they were like 7 and the rest of the group dk about reader but then they find out and fluff🥹

all under cut !
Juhoon and Y/N technically started “dating” when they were about seven.
And by dating, I mean he gave her a Pokémon sticker during recess and said, “You’re my girlfriend now.”
She said, “Okay,” because she liked the blue one. “you’re my boyfriend now”
They never broke up.
It sort of just blossomed from there.
Through scraped knees. Through matching backpacks in third grade.
Through the awkward “don’t talk to me in front of my friends” phase in middle school - though they still always walked home together.
Through high school when he got taller and she stole his hoodies like it was her full-time job.
Now fast forward.
Juhoon is in a group. The members know everything about him.
Well.
Almost everything.
They know he has 2 turtles now.
They know he cries at animal videos.
They know he disappears every Sunday night without explanation.
What they do NOT know?
He has had a girlfriend for literally over a decade.
And it’s not even dramatic. He just never mentioned it. Something about “privacy”
Because to him, Y/N isn’t some “secret girlfriend.”
She’s just Y/N.
The girl who still has the Pokémon sticker pressed inside her old diary.
The girl who knows his mom’s cooking schedule.
The girl who texts him, “Don’t forget to eat,” like she has since they were twelve.
— 🎐
The members find out in the dumbest way possible.
They’re in the dorm living room. Juhoon’s phone lights up on the table.
Seonghyeon glances at it.
“Who’s ‘princess 💛’?”
Silence.
Juhoon freezes mid-bite.
James squints. “Why is that name kinda romantic.”
Keonho grabs the phone before Juhoon can. “WAIT. AND THEY GOT A YELLOW HEART?? AND NAMED PRINCESS.”
Juhoon lunges. “Give it back.”
Too late.
The lockscreen lights up with a picture.
It’s a photo of Juhoon and Y/N sitting on a playground swing set. She’s laughing at him. He’s looking at her like she personally invented happiness.
And the date in the corner says last week.
The room goes dead quiet.
“Is that your sister?” Martin asks slowly.
Juhoon blinks. “The fuck? No.”
“Cousin?”
“No.”
Seonghyeon gasps. “YOU HAVE A GIRLFRIEND?”
Juhoon, very calm: “Yeah.”
Keonho is actually offended. “HOW LONG?”
He shrugs.
“Since second grade.”
The entire dorm erupts.
“SECOND GRADE IS INSANE.” “YOU’VE BEEN HIDING A WHOLE WIFE.” “DOES SHE KNOW YOU’RE AN IDOL??”
Juhoon just rolls his eyes but he’s smiling. “Obviously she knows.”
Because she was there before all of it.
Before auditions. Before training. Before stage names.
She used to sit on the floor while he practiced dance routines in their living room.
She’d clap like he was already famous.
—
The next week, he finally brings her to the dorm.
The members are acting like they’re meeting royalty.
Y/N walks in, shy but comfortable. Like she belongs there.
Because she kind of does.
I mean she HAS been through the dorm before, just not while the boys were there.
Juhoon doesn’t introduce her dramatically. He just says, “Guys, this is Y/N.”
And she smiles. “Hi. I’ve heard a lot about you guys.”
Martin immediately bows. “We’re so sorry for whatever he’s told you.”
She laughs. Juhoon looks at her like he’s seven again, holding out that stupid Pokémon sticker.
The members notice it.
The way he instinctively takes her bag.
The way she fixes his collar without thinking.
The way their fingers automatically link together like muscle memory.
It’s not flashy.
It’s soft.
Comfortable.
Old.
Seonghyeon whispers, “They’re literally married.”
And honestly?
They kinda are.
Later that night, when the members won’t stop teasing him, Juhoon just shrugs and says:
“I didn’t hide her. You just never asked.”
And across the room, Y/N tosses him a gummy bear.
He catches it without looking.
Because after all these years?
They’re still that seven-year-old boy and girl on the playground.
Just taller. More mature. Even famous. BUT? they’re still together.

The weather was scorching hot today. Student's chatters scattered the classroom─anything but paying attention in class. The literature teacher kept talking about symbolism or something, her voice quietly blending within the classroom, but you couldn’t focus on a single word.
You sat by the window, propping your chin on your hand while gazing at the field when you noticed something, or...someone.
Seonghyeon, who is currently playing basketball with his gang.
HE LOOKS SO GOOD like holy facecard?
Dark brown hair damped from sweat, while his pe shirt clinged slightly to his back, outlining his shoulders every time he jumped for a rebound. His laughter can be heard faintly through the opened classroom window.
Your friend besides you noticed too.
"Don't tell me your looking at him again," she groaned
" Oh- please, he just look so handsome," you replied, still watching closely at him. "I swear the girls next class was pinning on him too!"
Outside, his friends was chatting about what to eat for lunch when he felt someone staring. Slowly, he glanced up toward the building behind him, your block. For a second, his eyes searched lazily across the rows of windows before landing directly on yours.
Your heart nearly stopped that moment.
Both of your eyes met for a sec before he smiled softly, at you.
In a split second, Seonghyeon lifted one hand slightly, hidden low enough beneath the window frame so probably nobody else noticed. A tiny wave, towards you.
Your whole body froze, breath hitching in your throat. However, before you could even reply, his hand dropped, the wave vanishing as quickly as it had appeared, and his attention shifted back to his friends.
You glanced back to your friend, face flushed from the encounter. You couldn't believed what has happened just now.
"He looked at-, no he waved at me!" you exclaimed, not loud enough to interupt the teacher.
"Are you sure your not dreaming?" she only said before writing her notes.
"I swear on my mom he did infact, looked at me!" you argued.
"Ladies at the back! Please focus." the teacher suddenly called out, clearly not impressed by the two of you.
"...Yes ma'am" you could only say before shifting your attention back to class.
. ݁ ₊ ⊹. ౨ৎ . ݁ ₊ ⊹
Seonghyeon stopped coming to school after that.
At first, people assumed he was just absent for the day. Then a day became a week, and suddenly his disappearance turned into the only thing anyone talked about in the hallways.
Rumors spread like crazy, some said he was sick sick, that he collapsed and has been hospitalized overnight. Others whispered that his family had suddenly moved away without telling anyone. A few even claimed they saw him at the train station carrying a few bags, face hidden beneath a hoodie like he was trying hard not to be recognized.
You tried pretending you weren’t listening, but every new madeup rumour made your stomach twist tighter than ever.
The whole school felt wrong without him in it ─ how his seat two class away from yours sat painfully empty, how everytime you looked out the window to search for him, just to be disappointed by his absence.
By lunch, you couldn’t even finish eating. Your friends stares at you, completely baffled by your behaviour.
"ugh, he's not going to come back even if you starve yourself." one of your friends finally broke the silence.
"I know but..." you replied, looking at your half eaten melon bread.
"if your that worried about him..." your friend suddenly suggest
"just text him you idiot. Though I feel like he wouldn’t reply you" another one of your buddies chip in, cheeks still full of food.
"???? NO way," you raised your voice slightly, which cause passerby to turned around.
"Just try your luck. Here,I have his number." your friend slides you his contact just for safety measures.
That afternoon, rain tapped softly against the classroom windows while students packed their bags to leave. However, you stayed seated long after the bell rang, staring at your phone, fingering hovering over his contact.
You tried typing something, but ended up deleting all over again. You didn't want him to think your desperate but at the same time, you couldn't wait any longer, you wanted to know if he's okay or not.
Hi! ( •̀ .̫ •́ )✧ This is Yn
did you get sick?
are you okay?
Before the thought of visibly cringing and wanting to delete it again, you braced yourself and quickly hit the sent button.
Okay, maybe you did regret doing that.
The classroom slowly emptied until only the sound of rain remained. You stared at the screen, not knowing what to do. Each passing second only deepened the discomfort twisting in your chest. Before you knew it, your phone buzzed. You jolted upright in your chair, heart leaping into your throat. You grab your phone anxiously, preparing for the worst.
Hey, this is Sean.
I'm okay.
can't really explain rn tho, ttyl?
Your fingers hovered over the keyboard, not knowing what to reply.
Another message appeared seconds later.
are you worried about me?
You stare at that last message maybe 2...3....no 5 times atleast. Eyes scanning at that same sentence a good 6 times before your brain fully processed that.
a little
That's all you say. Cause you do, you miss him, infact way more than 'a little'. Rain continued tapping softly against the classroom windows while the screen glowed in your trembling hands.
Just then, three dots appeared again.
i'll be back soon, don't worry too much
Before you could even replied, another message appeared
I miss you too
You closed the app when you saw that, and immediately slam your phone down on the table.
You're so glad everyone else left.
. ݁ ₊ ⊹. ౨ৎ . ݁ ₊ ⊹
Months A year had passed.
It's been approx 486 days without Seonghyeon.
At one point, people at school stopped mentioning Seonghyeon altogether. His desk was eventually replaced by somebody else. The teachers no longer ask about his absence during attendance. Even the fake ahh rumors dissapeared, replaced by upcoming exams and future college applications.
Everyone seems to forget about him, everyone except you.
You still text him sometimes, and he'll reply later than usual everytime. During good days, he'll even text you first, telling you how his day suck or smth, and then he'll disappeared again for days again. Sometimes entire weeks passed without a single msg, and although you tried convincing yourself you were used to it by now, the silence still settled inside your chest every time.
He even said he’ll come back, what happened to that?
Though, despite everything, you couldn’t stop the warmth spreading through your chest at the thought that he still thought of you. (stop with the delulu)
Time slipped by quietly, and before anyone could truly process it, high school was already coming to an end. One by one, people started talking about college and upcoming plans and stuff
You hurried to school like usual, that’s the consequences of sleeping late every time. Mentally praying that you’ll arrive at school on time before the gates closes.
Upon reaching school, your whole face was already covered in sweats. Yet, something felt rather different or strange in a way. The teacher wasn’t on duty today, not even the prefects. Not a single student was present at the schoolyard. It was a bit unsettling to say the least but still you hurriedly walk over to your class.
The corridor felt weird too. Usually there would be people walking or gathering around here but strangely enough, barely a single person is using the corridor. The classrooms was oddly filled with murmurs and soft gasp but you pay no mind to it (you tried).
Sliding the door open, you would have thought that the teacher has already came but to your surprise, your class was basically a dessert, only a few friends of yours are present, endlessly scrolling through their phone, eyes never leaving the screen.
Odd, isn’t it like school hours? Why are they on their phones?
Still, you walked over to them, trying to atleast glance at what they’re looking at. Strangely, when they looked up towards you, their reaction was totally uncalled.
"GIRL DID U SAW FUCKING TWITTER?" Is all your friend said before violently shaking your shoulders over and over again.
"what─ no wtf-"
"CHECK IT NOW CAUSE WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK."
and you did. You open twt to see what’s going on with everyone. You felt abit anxious when you scroll and scroll, all of the news doesn't felt as shocking as your friend described…until one post from BigHitEnt.
At first, it doesn't look like anything special, you know, just another debut teaser flooding social media. A newly announced boy group from some entertainment company you vaguely recognized. The comments were already exploding beneath the post.
Well until your eyes drifted toward the center member.

Him, Seonghyeon.
It's hard to believe honestly.
Though the same time, all the dots seems to connect one to another. How he dissapeared so suddenly, how he rarely replied to your texts, how he can't seem to explain his situation.
It all seems to be coming together.
The realisation not only hits you but others as well. All this time, while everyone thought he’d disappeared or transferred away or gotten sick...he had been training to become an idol.
You zoomed in on him specifically, he look way older and grew into his features well. His dark brown hair was styled perfectly to accomodate his features, face glowing with the other members.
Below the pictures, comments flooded endlessly down the screen.
WHOS THE CENTER OMG???
HOLYFACECARD
OH THEY'RE GONNA BLOWUP
PREDEBUT FANS HERE!
Your beats faster than ever with every comment you read. While everyone was busy talking about Sean, you went to your seat to open his contact, heart silently praying its still there.
Except, its not.
It's gone. You already had a small gut feeling that this would happen, yet you still hold onto that empty hope that maybe, maybe his contact would still be there. And from that day onwards, you knew that he's no longer the same guy you once had loved.

Semester break is right around the corner.
After weeks of exhausting finals, late-night studying, and surviving on Redbulls and energy drinks, you felt like you could finally breathe again. Your friends were already making plans for the break─talking excitedly about late-night outings, sleepovers, and maybe even throwing a small party just to celebrate.
Yet, you already had some plans for tonight.
Biding farewell to your friends, you walked to the desinated location. Fans have already crowded the front door but you pay no mind.
All you were thinking of is seeing him again.
After what seems like a year, you grown to like his group really well. From slowly listening to their music to watching all their videos and even joining their live, you could prob call yourself a connoisseur at this point.
After waiting patiently in the line, you finally got into your seat. Thousands of fans surrounded the venue, some holding banners of their bias. You even saw how exicted they are, how their eyes gleams so brightly at the thought of seeing their idol in real life.
The venue lights dimmed and suddenly the crowd exploded instantly into deafening screamms. Your breath caught as the giant screens flickered to life, one member appearing after another under the flashes of light and music.
And then, he appeared. Seonghyeon.
With every new face on screen, the roar of the venue intensified. Yet, amidst the chaos, you sat completely frozen, gripping your glowing lightstick so tightly your knuckles turned white. The music starts, and suddenly he was dancing beneath thousands of lights while fans cheered. Your eyes followed his figure, how he dances so flawlesly, how he still have a habit of running a hand through his hair between songs whenever he got nervous.
Time slowed down, seeing him in person, after everything that had happened between you two before the fame, made reality crash down all at once. He was entirely out of reach now.
Your chest ached painfully.
Halfway through the concert, the members paused to talk with the audience while catching their breath. Seonghyeon stood near the center of the stage, slightly flushed from performing beneath the heat of the lights.
Then slowly, his gaze drifted across the crowd.
From one section to another, until suddenly, his eyes stopped. Directly at where you were standing.
Your heart pounded hard against your chest.
For one terrifying second, Seonghyeon looked completely still. The noise of the arena faded into something distant and muffled while your entire body went numb beneath his stare. His expression shifted so subtly most people wouldn’t have noticed it.
Except you.
Of course you'll noticed, you had spent years studying his face every day during lunchtime long before the world knew him. Your friends may call you a lunatic but hey...who wouldn't honestly?
Recognition flickered briefly across his face dissapeared almost instantly.
But it was there.
Your breath caught painfully in your throat.
The concert continues, the crowd erupted back into screams as the members rushed into the next performance. You stand there, watching him from the sides silently.
It wasn't like you at all, back then, you would have been cheering on top of your lungs like your life depended on it during the school's national basketball competition, while even wearing his jersey number.
And still, every now and then, you caught him glancing toward your section again, well ─briefly.
By the final song, everyone was tired. Confetti drifted slowly from the ceiling while the members stood breathless beneath soft golden lights, thanking fans one by one. Together with the members, Seonghyeon bowed fully to thank everyone again. His cheeks were flushed, hair damped from sweat. His breathing still uneven from performing.
Yet somehow, when he smiled at the crowd, your chest tightened painfully with familiarity. That smile, was painfully similar to the one he gives you that day.
The concert ended far too quickly after that.
By the time you finally returned home, it was already past midnight. Exhaustion clung heavily to your body as you changed into more comfortable clothes before collapsing onto your bed, the concert still replaying endlessly inside your head. Your eyes was about to close when suddenly, a small notification interupts you.
You groaned before reaching towards it. Expecting to be some insta notifs from your friends. Instead, an unknown number appeared across your screen. Your brows furrowed slightly, opening the message.
you came?
You stared blankly at the message for several seconds. Three dots apprearing above your head as you stare longer at it.
Wrong number?
Your fingers hovered uncertainly above the keyboard before typing back carefully.
who is this?
Three dots appeared almost immediately, before vanishing, before appearing again....is this some strange prank?
damn
did u really forget me?
You blinked. Complementing whether you should block this number right now or no. Fortunately Unfortunately , curiosity hits you.
sorry no idea
This time the response came faster, as well as your heart drop.

Your entire body went completely still. This must be some kind of prank right?

Another message appeared.

syspnosis ꕀ Percy is in infatuated with your kisses, to the point where he has basically consumed so much chemicals from your lipgloss. but he doesn’t mind, until you complain about a shortage.
╰ cw; pure fluff, tooth rotting!!
╰ taglist & masterlist!
𝒴ou don’t even remember who leaned in first. maybe you? maybe Percy?
but it doesn’t matter, because the second his hands settle on your waist and your iced-coffee lipgloss brushes his mouth, everything else dissolves. He kisses like he’s trying to make up for every minute he didn’t get to see you today: warm, eager, a little breathless.
By the time you pull back, both of you are grinning and his entire mouth is covered by your gloss, tinted like he just drank a whole café latte with no straw.
Percy wipes his lips with the back of his hand, then stops when he sees the smear. “Okay, that’s definitely yours.”
You just smirk. “And you love it.”
He does. Obviously.
A few days later, you’re digging through your bag with dramatic frustration.
“Why do my lipglosses keep running out so fast? This is the third one this month!”
Percy’s face goes pink. He’s very aware why.
You’re very aware why.
Neither of you says it.
He just clears his throat. “Uh… weird. Must be a manufacturing issue.”
You give him a look that says sure, seaweed brain, and kiss him again just to prove your point, leaving another iced-coffee print on his mouth before jogging off to your cabin.
Percy touches his lips and sighs. “Yeah… it’s definitely my fault.”
When Christmas rolls around, Percy nervously hovers in the Jackson apartment doorway while Sally wraps presents.
“Hey, Mom? Can I borrow, like… ten dollars?”
She raises an eyebrow. “For what?”
He mumbles, “Lipgloss.”
Sally stops mid-ribbon. “Percy… the ones your girlfriend uses are like twenty-eight dollars.”
“TWENTY—?! Why are they that much?! They’re tiny!”
She laughs, shaking her head. “Sweetheart, anything shiny and scented is expensive. Luckily…” She reaches into a drawer and pulls out a brand-new tube still in its box. “I got this as a birthday gift. Never opened it. It’s the same brand you always come home… wearing.”
Percy turns red. “Mom!”
“Just give it to her,” she says, handing it over. “She sounds special.”
“She is,” he admits softly.
You’ve never met Sally Jackson, but when Percy gives you the little wrapped box later that night, his ears red and his smile shy, your heart actually trips in your chest.
You open the wrapping slowly… then freeze when you see what’s inside.
It isn’t just another lipgloss.
It’s a gift from his mother.
Something she kept untouched and gave because she thought you were worth it.
You close the box again, clutching it to your chest.
“I’m not using it,” you say suddenly.
Percy blinks. “Wait—what? Why? You can! I got it for—”
“No,” you say, smiling, stepping close and sliding your arms around his neck. “I’m saving it. For something important. Like… I dunno… maybe my wedding day.”
Percy’s face goes blank. Then red. Then brighter red.
“Your— your what— your— wedding—?” His voice cracks so hard it echoes.
You just laugh, kiss him softly, and leave the faintest iced-coffee print on the corner of his mouth.
“Relax, seaweed brain. I’m not proposing.”
Then, with a grin: “But I’m not wasting Sally Jackson’s lipgloss on anything less than the best day of my life.”
Percy kisses you again, long, warm, a little dizzying and you swear he tastes like the future.
And yes… he definitely leaves wearing your gloss again (butThis time it’s strawberry flavored).

Demigods didn't tend to have long lifespans. With near-death experiences at least once a month, it's a suprise to see a demigod reach their thirties. And this is something you've come to terms with. You're aware with how much the gods enjoy tormenting you and your boyfriend that it's unlikely you'll both make it to get the senior citizen discount at Walmart.
Speaking of your lovely boyfriend, Percy Jackson, you were hoping to make it official before the next world ending disaster hit. Despite your advacity for female independence, you did adore the idea of marriage. Of having a love so deep you want to tie yourself to that person for eternity. Maybe you were overly romanticizing the tradition, but you wanted a pretty ring to show off to your friends! And planning the wedding would be so fun! You got to choose the flowers, and the lights, and the dress code, and the cake! You wanted chocolate and strawberry, buttercream frosting, three tiers, and blue sea shells! Simple really.
To say the least, it was on your mind frequently. Demigods didn't have as much time as mortals, you thought, so it couldn't be too soon to get married at 19.
You were staying at Percy's parents apartment while you attended college and he tried to get in one (University of New Rome required letters of recommendation from gods so new quest. Yay.). His mom adored you. You and Paul bonded over your shared interest in education. Camp was your only home before, so having one here with Percy's family was a huge comfort you never knew you lacked. It also made you realize what life could be like if you and Percy did move forward. You could get your own home, go out on real dates, maybe start your own family... perhaps that was a bit to far ahead. But still, the idea was nice. A comfort that demigods rarely got to experience.
You had been studying for an upcoming test with some friends at a nearby cafe when Percy burst into the shop. How he found you? No idea. He always had this crazy sixth sense about you. He also had this panicked look in his eyes he got when something terrible happened like right now. He called your name and slid into the open spot at your right. It was a cozy little shop with dark wood walls and hanging plants that drapped to the floor. Around the seating area were shelfs of donated books that you could exchange one of your own for. Sally had been the one to show you this place. She often came here to write. You understood why. It was comforting and quant.
"Hey," You said, a hint of a question in your voice. Something was up. Your friends ignored him, continuing to work amongst themselves. They were used to his common intrusions.
"Hey." Percy repeated and wrapped his arm around your shoulders, then pressed a quick kiss to your cheek. He sat there in silence for a few moments watching as you typed on your laptop. He was too quiet. Something was definitely up.
"What did you do?"
"Don't be mad at me okay? Really, baby. It's not that big of a deal. I just need your help." He rushed out and gave you those big green puppy eyes.
"What is it?" You sighed. Why is a week without any dangerous monsters so hard to find? You're not even at camp!
"I need to, uh, pet sit for Hecate. Don't give me that look. Come on! You love dogs!" Percy pleaded. He pressed another chaste kiss to your cheek again. You grumbled in annoyance but leaned into his embrace, closing your eyes. His thumb drew circles into your shoulder. He knew you were tired of fighting and the mythic world. You had been fighting longer than him. "I know, sweet girl. Just a little more then we'll both be in college. We'll be done and if any gods come to us, we'll tell them to go away."
"You owe me dinner," You whispered and shoved a finger at his chest.
Percy gave you that stupid grin and kissed you properly this time. You couldn't help but smile into it. He started to get up, but you reached for his wrist. "And something shiney."
Percy gave you a puzzled look then grinned. He took your hand and pressed his lips to the back of it.
"Of course. Ill get you a necklace." He whispered then let go and dissappeared out of the Cafe. You sighed slumping into the booth. You were hoping for a ring but a necklace will do for now, you suppose. Your eyes lingered on the door. The ring of the bell still resonated faintly in the space.
"Was that too subtle?" You asked one of your friends. They were aware of your desire to start something more serious with your boyfriend.
"Well, I understood it, but he's a guy and their dumb." One of your girlfriends answered. She gave him a sympathetic smile. "Yours is particularly quite dumb."
"He's actually quite smart just not when it comes to feelings." You said. It was something about Percy you had come to accept. It was even cute at times like when he wasn't picking up your flirtatious so you just kissed him. That look of suprise then fond realization would wash over his features. It only made you love him more, but for situations like this, it made things more difficult.
You tried to focus back on your studies, but the easy comfort you usually found with your friends was shadowed by a lingering dread. It was totally possible that Percy wouldn't want marriage. You had never heard him explicitly say his views on the tradition. He may think its a waste of money to please society or something. You weren't sure how you would recover if he said no. You loved him so much. You redirected your anxiety to your studies. You needed to past this test first, then you could worry about the rest of your life.

Pet sitting for a goddess was about as chaotic as you imagined, but the date after was worth it. Percy took you out to a real restaurant. Not fast food. It was fine dining with mood lighting and tables cloaked in red. Something you rarely experienced. You ordered your food and at the end of your date he proudly presented the necklace he had bought you. It was undeniably stunning. A delicate chain with a charm that held a shining aquamarine jewel.
"It was, uh, my mom's. She wanted you to have it." Percy said as he nudged the velvet box across the table to you. It glittered under the candle light. You carefully took it out the box smiling.
"Its beautiful. Your mother didn’t have to-"
"She wanted to give it to you for a while now," Percy shook his head. His eyes trailed your hands as you fastened the chain around your neck. Something filled with admiration and possession. The gem rested just below your collarbones.
Percy, surprisingly, offers to pay for the dinner. Usually the two of you just split the bill since neither of you can afford a meal like this but apparently he had been saving up. You insisted to pay for the tip anyway.
It had gotten cold outside by the time, you had left the restaurant and Percy gave you his jacket. Snow fluttered down from dark clouds and dusted the streets in a hazy of white. You bit back a smile as Percy's dark hair became speckled with the tiny white flakes. He took your hand as you walked, intertwined his fingers with yours. It was moment like these you tried to cherish the most. They were so hard to come by in demigod life.
You passed by window displays of books, and clothes, and candy, but one caught your eye. It was a jewelry store that had close earlier. Dispite the darkness in the shop, gems glittered in the window. Rubies, Emeralds, diamonds. Gold and silver. It all shimmered under the streetlights. You tugged at Percy's hand, pulled him with you over to the display. This was a perfect chance.
"I just got you a necklace, baby.." Percy pouted and stood behind you, his head rested atop yours.
"I need a ring to go with it though, don't I?" You teased, but your face warmed with embarrassment. That definitely was too forward. You focused on the intricate rings behind the glass in order to ignore the thoughts racing through your head.
"Isn't that one pretty?" You asked and pointed to a baby blue diamond ring. Percy's color. You held your hand out imagining how it would look on your finger.
"Hmm. Do you think Poseidon would lend me some money for that?" Percy grinned. You let out a dramatic annoyed sigh and elbowed him. He grunted and stumbled back.
"Or you could get a job. Stop living off of your poor mother." You said starting down the street again. Percy lingered at the display for a moment before he jogged to catch up.
"You're really into jewelry all the sudden." He muttered, partly to himself. His hand found yours again.
"Maybe I've discovered a taste for the finer things," You replied. "Maybe I just like being spoiled by my boyfriend."
"The latter, I think," Percy said and leaned down to kiss your cheek. "Don't worry, baby. I'll spoil you plenty."
You've never felt more content than in that moment. The sidewalk sparkled with freshly fall snow and crunched under your feet, the streetlamps were a glow with warm golden in light, and Percy was beside you. His arm wrapped around your shoulders as you walked. You soaked up his warmth and closed your eyes. You wanted to memorize this feeling and keep it stored for hard days. A cozy memory you could always come back to.
-
About two weeks later, you were babysitting Estelle while Paul and Sally went out for date night. Percy was layed back on the couch, his head in your lap and the baby sprawled on top of his chest. The both of them looked completely enraptured by the movie---Moana. He was so focused on the movie, in fact, that you had stopped playing with his hair and he didn't even notice. Usually, he'd whine for you not to stop.
Unlike their entertained bliss, your mind was on everything but the movie. They two looked so adorable and comfy cuddled together like that. You couldn't stop thinking about what it would be like to have a child of your own with Percy. He was already so good with Estelle. You could tell he would be a great father. Maybe a bit lenient. You couldn't imagine him being hard on your kid. He would spoil your kid and play with them all the time. You couldn't stop the little smile that crept onto your lips at the thought.
Once the movie finished, Percy carried a sleepy Estelle up to bed. You watched in the doorway as he tucked her into her princess blanket and kissed her forehead. He straightened and turned to you with a stupid teasing smile.
"What you thinking about?"
"Nothing."
"Come on.." He whispered, his arms wrapped around you and he leaned down to press an affectionate kiss behind your ear. Your arms instinctively wrapped around neck.
"Have you ever thought about us.. like starting a family?" You asked hesitantly. His answer meant everything. Your heart leaped in your chest.
"Oh? Is that what this is about? You looking at me all cute and soft and stuff?" He grinned and littered kisses along your throat electing a huff of a laugh from you. "A kid would be nice. Not a big fan of diapers though."
"That's only for a year or so." You said, fingers threaded into his hair. "You'd be a good dad."
"Ya think so?" Percy questioned and pulled back to stare at you. A blend of suprise and pride overwhelming his handsome features. "You'd be a great mom, baby."
"Mm. I'd have to actually care for the kid. You'd just play with them." You said then laughed at Percy's expression of offense.
"I'll have you know I'd be a very responsible dad. Feed em' and clothe em' and everything." He protested. His arm moved to wrap around your shoulders and guided you down the hall to his room. "I'll be a stay at home dad if you want."
"And you wouldn't let them do whatever they want?" You asked, biting back a laugh. Percy opened then door to his room like a true gentleman and gestured for you to step inside.
"No. . Well, sometimes. Gotta let the kid have fun," Percy grinned and stepped in after you. He shut and locked the door behind him. Your heart raced inside your ribcage. You couldn't stop smiling. "He's a boy, by the way. Ive decided."
"But I want a girl." You grumbled, arms crossed over your chest. Percy only grinned wider and leaned down to press a deep kiss to your lips. It was hungry and intimate and devouring like he had been waiting forever to kiss you. You smiled against his lips and he hummed, nudging you backwards to his bed.
"We'll just have to try for both then, hmm?" Percy murmured lowly. He followed you down on the bed and kissed you deeply again. He rocked back on his heels, taking a moment to admire you splayed out on his shark bed sheets.
"You know pregnancy is like the worst right?" You said and forced yourself to ignore the heat that bloomed in your core under his gaze.
"I'll make sure its the best thing then. Im spoil you the whole way." Percy repeated and leaned down again, his arms propped up and either side of your head. He kissed you again and you could've sworn you he was grinning.
-
Dispite all your attempts, there was no progress in your relationship with Percy. It was as if he didn't notice your hints at all. You loved him, but it was starting to bother you. It felt like he was intentionally ignoring all your attempts. It was like he was trying to put down the idea and it scared you to no end. So, you decide to take a more forward approach.
"I want a wedding." You declared, earning a suprised look from Percy. You were both waiting for the bus back to his mom's apartment. You were curled up on the bench, leaning into the warmth of his side. His arm was wrapped around your shoulders, his fingertips traced circles into your arm in a comforting manner. It was still freezing, but a recent rain had melted the snow away. You were staying at the apartment for the weekend like usual and Percy had insisted he would come get you even though you were fine taking the bus alone. It was cute in a way, but you had a lingering thought that it might be to make you feel better. You weren't trying to be petty, but after him ignoring all your hints, it was hard not to be bitter about it.
"You do?" Percy questioned, his dark brows furrowed as he shifted to look at you properly.
"Mhm," You hummed and kept your eyes on your lap. Your fingers twisted your necklace nervously. "I mean wouldn't it be nice? A day all for me and my love. I get to pick all the decorations and food and veneu. And the dress... I'd have to take the girls with me. Trying on wedding dresses would be the best part. Well, maybe the second best part."
Percy stared as you talked, completely enraptured. His fingers stopped their soothing movement on your arm, too focused on your words. You glanced up at him and your face flushed. The glimmer in those flowing sea green eyes told you he was imagining it too.
"What's the best part then?" He whispered, low and taut.
"When I walk down the aisle," You answered, unable to keep the smile off your lips. You could picture it so clearly. Frank would already be crying from his spot to the side as one of Percy's best men. Piper would be trying to blink her tears away. Annabeth stood proud and smiled as the music began to play while you walked down the aisle. A beautiful mix you selected from yours and Percy's favorite movie. Nerdy, but felicitous given you and him. Then, of course, there was *him*. Standing tall at the end, waiting with that look filled with love. Just like when he first asked you out, nervous but sure of his feelings.
Still ever the petty one, you told him all this, but with an elusive could-be-anyone groom. You knew perfectly well it would create doubt in his mind. Maybe it was cruel, but you've been buzzing with doubt since you started this scheme.
"Thats an expensive wedding, baby." Percy murmured once you were done. Which was true. What you pictured was rather elaborate and overflowing with finery.
"Thats the point." You huffed and elbowed his side. He grunted, but only pulled you closer and kissed your cheek.
"So... am I gonna be there?" He asked softly, his nose brushed yours.
"I hope so." You said, then pulled away teasingly as the bus arrived. Percy huffed a laugh and followed you up, his hand in yours.
During the ride home, he bombarded you with questions about your theoretical wedding. Who would you invite? What kind of cake? What kind of dress? He seemed particular interested in your answer to the last question. You could tell he was avoiding the question, 'would he be the groom?'
-
Percy really had no idea what he did wrong. You had been acting so strange all week, moody and avoidant. He shifted to sit up in his bed. Your sleeping form curled up on your side. He watched your breath rise and fall. The only time you seemed peaceful lately was in your sleep. Everything he said seemed to only make it worse. Your dream about a wedding made him so happy for the future, but when you didn't mention the groom, he knew he messed up. He didn't want to ask you about it in fear you would say that you didn't want him forever. Didn't picture him in that role as your groom.
He groaned and ran a hand through his hair. Everything felt tense now. He didn't want it to be like this.
He quietly left the bedroom, careful not to wake you and went to the kitchen. He ran his hands over his face in exasperation then opened the fridge, the bright light made him squint.
"Midnight snack?"
Percy quickly shut the fridge door and straightened, suprised to see Paul standing in the doorway. He scratched his salt and pepper hair awkwardly. He wore washed out plad pajama pants and a old college sweater.
"Uh, yeah." Percy mumbled, shoving his hands in his pockets. He watched as Paul grabbed an apple from the fruit basket and sat down at the small dining table. He patted the spot next to him.
"Tell be about it."
Percy lingered for a moment in the kitchen. Usually he would talk to his mom about his embarrassing girl issues, but it seemed like his step dad would be better for this situation. Man to man. Something he never had before. He swallowed and plopped down next to him. There was so much he wanted to say, but he didn't know how to even begin.
"You're mom said there something up with you..." Paul started and Percy immediately spilled everything. He could stop the words that flowed about you. About your future together. About how scared he was that future would be ruined by gods. Paul listened to all of it with a comforting hand placed on Percy's shoulder. Which only made Percy's heart hurt more. He finally had a real family. Not just him and his mom (which was perfect fine, but having a real father too that cared and listened to him..). He really didn't want another world ending disaster to take this away from him too. The last two where you and his mom were in eminent danger was enough for his heart.
"Well, she wants you to propose." Paul said, the apple he'd been eating now reduced to just a core in his hand. Percy could only stare, completely taken out of his thoughts. He blinked a few times then buried his face in his hands.
"Im so stupid.." He groaned. That's why you were so upset because he was stupid and you probably thought he was rejecting the idea. It all made sense now and he wanted to crawl into a hole and die.
"It happens. Your mom did the same thing and got so upset that she straight up told me she expected me to propose the next day. Trying to find a ring overnight is no joke. Best feeling, but not when your on a timer." Paul said, patting Percy back. He peered at his step-dad between his fingers.
"So I should be scared?"
"You do want to marry her right?"
"Yes." There was no doubt in Percy's made that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with you. And the future you had been trying to show him only made him more sure of that decision.
"Then start looking for a ring sometime soon," Paul said with a firm nod. "Its not easy to find the perfect one."
"Actually... I do know of the perfect one.." Percy murmured, a smile on his lips as the perfect plan came to mind.

You honestly had no clue what came over your boyfriend. He was a all smiles and cheer when you woke up. Which was very different from how confusion and stressed he was last night.
At breakfast he said that you would be going on a date that night to the beach. It was a little out of nowhere but you nodded and finished your pancakes. You hadn't been to the beach with him since you had started college. He told you to wear something nice then shoved the rest of his food in his mouth and left. You stared at the door as it shut then your gaze drifted to his parents. Sally looked just as baffled as you and Paul only responded with a kind knowing smile.
You spent the rest of the day doing homework in his room, but it was all mindless. You were more concerned about what to wear. You hoped he didn't mean to swim since it was, well, only the beginning of spring. Temperatures had only just started to warm up. So you didn't have to worry about that, but it seemed important given the giddy expression on his face before he left. But it was also the beach so you couldn't wear something too formal. You decided on something casual but elegant and blue. His color.
Percy arrived back at the apartment with your favorite flowers just before dinner. He kissed you passionately then the two of you got into Sally's car (she let him drive). He opened the door for you like a true gentleman which led you to believe something was definitely up. He tried to be casual during the drive to the beach but you could tell he was restless. He kept messing with his hair and checking his pockets.
When you got there the sun had begun to set, painting a beautiful picture of pinks and yellows across the sky and catching the ocean in its warm glow. While you stared, Percy laid out a towel and set his stuff down. He at brought fruit and snacks for the two of you to share, but it seemed that was for later as he grabbed your hand and tugged you over to the shore.
"Where are we going?" You asked with a smile. The breeze was cool but not freezing as you neared the water. Percy had was warm in yours.
"Just for a walk." He replied and tugged you along until you reached a spot where the sand was covered in shells creating heart shapes like stepping stones just shy of the tide. You couldn't stop the giddy feeling the rose in your chest. The steps lead to a bigger heart with a bouquet of your favorite flowers and a neatly wrapped present in the middle. You laughed as you picked them up. You weren't sure what to do with all these flowers. You turn to Percy, only to find him on one knee. In his hand was a pretty velvet box, in it was the ring you saw in the window of that jewelry store that night after your date weeks ago. You're heart dropped at the realization. The way he said your name with such reverence as he stare up at you had your heart bearing rapidly.
"You've... been my everything. You held me together in so many world ending situations, you've save me a lot more than I'd like to admit, and.. I think you might be my dream girl," Percy said, then laughed nervously which made you laugh too, tears of joy falling from your eyes. "Ah! No, don't cry! I really didn't plan this as best as I thought.. I'm so stupid for not realizing it earlier, but I want forever with you..Will you marry me?"
You screamed in what you hoped was a yes and tackled him into the sand. You kissed him deeply again and again, until he pulled away slightly in realization.
"The ring!" He scrambled to find it, thankfully only a few feet away. "May I?" He whispered gesturing for your hand. You held it out with a smile and he slide the pretty azure diamond onto your finger. He kissed you this time, grinning into your mouth.
"My fiancé." You whispered between kisses, cupping his face.
"Husband soon. Wouldn't a summer wedding me nice?" He murmured against your lips and you've never been happier in your life. You couldn't wait to tell everyone. You got a ring!

Heeseung as a tired boyfriend is upsetting you more than you realise.
Heeseung x gf!reader — angstish with a lot of comfort because we need it
I got inspired from that one Spotify interview where they played desire or deny and when they were asked about ‘a stroll under the full moon’ Heeseung answered with deny, saying “girls… I gotta go to sleep.” He was so cheeky and cute 😆
Only his soft snores alongside the noise from the movie you had been watching together filled the room.
You slightly lifted your head from his chest, careful not to startle him. His hand which was previously buried in your hair and massaged your head had slipped off. “Baby?” You called out for him softly.
His snores continued, chest rising and falling in a rhythmic pattern under your hand. Leaning forward, you placed a soft kiss on his jaw. No response. You tried again by kissing the corner of his jaw, right next to his ear where you knew he was sensitive. He grunted and buried his face in his hoodie, still completely knocked out. You bit your lip to suppress a chuckle, kissing along his neck and jaw. “Baby~” you kissed his cheek, “wake up, my love. You can’t sleep here, baby.” Now you were trailing your kisses to his chin and nose, purposefully missing out on his soft, kissable lips.
His eyes fluttered, he looked at you with a dazed vision. “Hm?” Heavy eyes met yours.
"Baby, you can't sleep here, my love." You rubbed your nose against his. He didn't respond right away. His hand buried in your hair again and pulled you closer to him. You gasped softly, the strenght in your arms giving out. You fell right on his body, now completely sprawled over him. His cheek rubbed on your forehead as he pressed your face into the crook of his neck which was covered by his hoodie.
"You woke me up." He complained with a rough voice, softness seeping through when he wrapped his other arm tighter around your waist.
"I'm sorry, bambi." You kissed his hamster like cheek, the nickname you gave him melted his heart everytime. "I wish I could carry you to bed, but you're too heavy for me." Heeseung chuckled under his breath, eyelids fighting against sleep. "That would be weird...", he murmured, exhaustion never vanishing from his voice.
"I don't like to be woken up," he started lazily, "but if it's you waking me up with kisses like this..." he pulled you further into his embrace, "then it’s okey."
You looked up, cheeks flushed due to warmth of candles and the fireplace breathing through your apartment. His heart fluttered at the sight. Softness bloomed through his veins, his eyes, though still heavy with drowsiness, now shimmered with fondness and affection.
You kissed his chin, "I'm glad you're giving your girlfriend this privilige," you giggled. His eyes softened even more. "Always,” he whispered more to himself than to you.
"Let's go to-" you yelped when Heeseung pulled you back to him as you were about to lift yourself up from his body.
"Hee-" You were cut off by a kiss on your lips. You sighed softly, his hand tilting your head so he could aim your soft lips accurately. Your body melted into his all over again.
“You forgot to kiss me here.” He mumbled against your lips, eyes twinkling mischievously.
The warm glow across your cheeks deepened. “You’re so annoying,” you whispered back, ears getting hot and lips brushing his. “Let’s get ready for bed, silly.”
In bed, your head rested on Heeseung’s chest, now clothed in pyjamas and not his hoodie and sweatpants anymore. The comfortable and warm weight of your body on his soothed him steadily to sleep.
And when it suddenly disappeared, he groggily stirred awake. “Where you goin’?” His hand lazily reached out for you though you already had slipped away from his reach.
“I’m just getting a glass of water, baby,” you whispered, leaning down to press a kiss on the arch of his eyebrow. “Go back to sleep.”
He responded with a gibberish “hurry up” before his consciousness slowly slipped away. Even though he looked dead to the world, his subconscious was still alert to every sound from you. The footsteps tapping down the stairs, the light switch clicking, the cabinet door closing.
But then there was absolute silence.
A frown appeared on Heeseung’s face. He was still way too gone to actually wake up, but his instincts couldn’t ignore your ongoing absence. Unconsciously, he purred into his pillow in distress, his face burying in it as his arm stretched towards your side of the bed.
Suddenly, hurried footsteps echoed through the house. You ripped the door open, but your boyfriend was now fast asleep.
“Oh my god! Heeseung! Wake up! You gotta see this!” You began as you crawled on the bed towards him. You shook him gently by his shoulders.
He grunted, face burying even further into his pillow.
“Baby, baby! Wake up!”
“Hm.”
“Baby, please~” You tried to lift him up, of course it was an unnecessary attempt — he didn’t budge one bit.
“Heeseung! You’re not gonna believe it! It’s snowing outside!”
“Hm?”
“It’s snowing!”
“M-hm.” He grunted in fake acknowledgment.
“Baby, please, you need to see it! It looks so beautiful!” You laid on top of him as you nestled your head next to his. “Please, please, please.”
“Mhmmm…” he grunted again, almost inaudible this time.
“Please~!” Your hands cupped his face. “Baby, please, wake up.” You pouted. Genuine hurt cracked through your voice. How could you enjoy the first snowfall of the year without your boyfriend? “You have to watch it with me…”
A quiet, frustrated whimper elicited from your throat. Defeated, you rested your head on his chest.
He was way too exhausted. He worked so much and so hard. There was no chance he would wake up after the back to back concerts he just had. For some reason, it brought tears to your eyes.
“Stupid boyfriend…” you pouted quietly, childishly, as you rubbed your face into his chest like a cat.
And somehow, his eyes fluttered open. “Hm?”
You were too lost in your tears, wetting his pyjama shirt and softly sniffling that you didn’t notice him stirring awake.
His hand flew up to your head in worry. “What’s wrong? Why are you crying, pretty?” His voice was deep and rough.
You gasped, head shooting up, “you woke up! Oh my god, Heeseung! You won’t believe this! It’s snowing outside!”
He blinked for a moment. Then a low chuckle escaped him, clearly taken by surprise, “yeah? That’s why you’re crying?” He gently pushed your hair behind your ear. His thumb swiped at the corner of your eye. You shook your head, but the stubborn tears managed to fill your eyes yet again.
“Then why is my big girl crying? Hm?”
“I- I don’t know.” You felt so silly. He’d definitely laugh at you if you told him.
He didn’t say anything at first. Just continued to stroke your cheekbone as he gazed at you with the softest eyes.
“You thought I died or something?”
You gasped a wet laugh. “What? No!” You slapped his chest.
A lazy smile spread across his face. Suddenly, he sat up and leaned against the headboard. He pulled you on his lap and cradled your head against his chest. His naked chest was peeking out of his unbuttoned shirt as he wrapped his arms around you trying to shield you from the cold world. Or anything that was making you cry. He pressed a kiss on your forehead and started rocking you slowly as if you were his baby.
“You said it’s snowing?” He asked after a while. He always talked to you very softly and cautiously, but whenever you were crying and vulnerable he became even more gentle. As if he was afraid you would break if he wasn’t careful enough.
You nodded frequently against his chest, doe and shimmery eyes glancing at him.
“Yeah?” He chuckled under his breath. He couldn’t help but find you so cute, so adorable at this moment. His heart squeezed in adoration. His hand cupped your soft cheek, stroking it gently.
For a while, he just gazed at you softly, taking his time to caress you and soak you in. He pressed a kiss on your forehead. Your eyes fluttered at his soft lips loving you, his kiss lingering on your skin even after he separated.
“You wanna watch the snowfall?” His voice was tender, as if he knew what and what not to say when you’re all vulnerable in his arms.
“Oh, yes!! Please, please, please!!” You nodded eagerly and quickly stood up. You took his hand to drag him towards the door and basically pulled him out of the sheets.
You were determined to share the most beautiful sight with the love of your life.
“Wait-“ he halted, tugging you back, his hair messy in the cutest and sleepiest way, “wait. Where are you going? Baby-“ he was so amused by your antics, “we have a window here, pretty.”
“Oh- No! We have to go downstairs, the view from the living room is a lot better!” You pulled him with you without any hesitation. His big and firmer hand wrapped around your smaller, soft one. His heart swelled up. He didn’t dare to protest, you were just the cutest being so he let you lead him to wherever your heart desired.
You gasped dramatically once you stood in front of the window. “Look at the view, Seungie!” You let go of his warm hand and pushed the curtains away to show him more of the view.
“Isn’t it so beautiful??” You awed with bright, sparkling eyes, hands on the cool glass as you watched the snowflakes dancing in the air.
Heeseung leaned against the big window, arms crossed as he hummed. His sleepy, sluggish demeanour was a huge contrast to your excited, giddy one. He sighed heavily, his head resting on the glass as the coolness seeped into his skin.
You whipped your head at him, “it’s so beautiful, isn’t it??” You tried again after he didn’t give an answer. He nodded lazily, barely managing to keep his eyes open. His eyes shifted to you, lingering on your bare arms and the way your body was trembling almost unnoticeably. But never unnoticed by him.
A disappointed, accusatory frown appeared on your face, “you’re not even looking, baby.”
A yawn escaped from his mouth as he lazily stretched his arms. He then pulled you into his embrace. His head rested comfortably on your shoulder as his arms wrapped around around your waist. Your hands automatically rested on his firm forearms. He pressed a soft kiss on your shoulder before rubbing his face against it, his movements were sluggish and lazy.
“ ‘m lookin” he mumbled against the crook of your neck. He looked up and kissed your cheek, arms tightening around you. One hand rubbed your chilled, naked arm, “ ‘s pretty”. He lingered a kiss on your neck. “So pretty,” he repeated before he rested his chin on your shoulder, his face half buried in your hair and neck.
You giggled excitedly, “I know!! The snow is soooo pretty.”
Heeseung chuckled under his breath and pressed himself further against your back, wrapping you even tighter in his arms.
“Really pretty,” he hummed.
He definitely wasn’t talking about the view. Matter of fact, when he had you in his arms like this, he couldn’t care less about some snow.
You let out an existed gasp, an idea striking you. You turned in his embrace. “Babe! Let’s go outside! The snow is still untouched, oh my god- this will be so fun!”
His eyebrows raised in surprised, “huh?”
“Please, please, please! A snowfall during the night is the best thing to experience!! You gotta trust me on this one!” Suddenly, you unwrapped yourself from his arms. You already made up your mind that you were going out with your boyfriend. At midnight. In the cold.
“Wait-“ his hand caught you before you were out of reach. “Baby-“ he chuckled softly, tired eyes flickering with amusement. “We can’t go outside- it’s midnight, baby.” His other hand wrapped around your waist.
“But that’s the point! You have to experience the first snowfall of the year outside. And during night it’s even more beautiful!”
“Baby-“ he pulled you closer to his chest, his hand cupping your cheek. His thumb glided over your cheek as he shook his head subtly, “it’s very late-“
“But that’s the fun part-! Look it’s even full moon-!”
He shook his head yet again, “babygirl… I gotta go to sleep…”
Your shoulders sagged visibly, “oh-“
His tired eyes continued to look at you with the fondest expression. “We gotta sleep, hm? It’s late. I have work tomorrow.” He kissed your forehead, “we can do this another time. Let’s go to bed for now.”
Your heart tightened at that. Another time.
That’s what he always told you.
Always ‘another time’.
Always ‘I have no time’.
Always ‘I’m too tired’.
Your throat tightened painfully. You always have work. The words lingered on your tongue. But you held yourself back.
He is tired. Don’t be selfish. You reminded yourself.
You blinked your eyes repeatedly before he could notice. You merely nodded, feeling already hopeless and defeated.
When you were settled back in your bed, you somehow managed to lie furthest away from him. Usually, you would always have some kind of closeness when falling asleep — hands intertwined, bodies spooning, legs tangled together, his hand on your waist, or your feet nestled between his legs — whatever it was, your bodies were always touching.
At first, he didn’t think much of it — sleep already fogging his mind as soon as his head hit the pillow.
“Love you, pretty. G’night.” He murmured sleepily. Your back was facing him, and you couldn’t bring yourself to answer him because of the painful lump forming in your throat. You couldn’t shift closer to your boyfriend. Not because you were mad at him, of course not — he never gave you a reason to be angry at him. But you couldn’t help but feel hurt. The pain in your heart was just hurting too much. And you knew that as soon as you get in his warm embrace you would start crying.
Suddenly, his strong arm wrapped around your waist and swiftly pulled you across the bed to his chest. He buried his face in your hair, “I said I Iove you, baby.” He repeated in a low tone.
Your lips began to tremble. A single teardrop slid down your temple. He pressed a gentle kiss on your shoulder, “why’re you not answerin’? My princess ‘s already sleepin’?” His hand splayed across your stomach, your back resting warmly against his chest. “Hm?” You shook your head.
“What’s the matter, baby? Are you mad at me?” Your heart ached at his soft tone. It hurt you even more to hear that he thought you were mad at him.
You shook your head again, mumbling a wet, “‘course not.”
“Then tell me what’s wrong. Why’s my pretty princess not answering me?”
And that’s all that it took. You turned around in his embrace and just started sobbing. His warmth and gentle way with you were enough for you to break.
His doe eyes widened, “why, why, why??” His arms tightened immediately in a protective manner as you buried your face in his chest, your shoulders shaking.
“What- baby, baby. What’s wrong?? Why are you crying??” That made you cry even more. Causing his heart to ache even more. “What’s wrong??”
“I- I hate your j-job.” You choked on your tears, he couldn’t even understand it.
“What?” The crease between his eyebrows intensified.
“I hate your job!” You repeated louder, though it was muffled by his chest.
“What-?” He laughed softly, his hand came up to caress your head as the other spread out on your back protectively. “You hate my job? Why?”
“Cause- cause-“ you hesitated, “you’re constantly tired and sleepy!”
His heart melted in real time. “Awww~ baby…” he laid his cheek on your head. “Is this why you were crying earlier too?”
You nodded against his chest, pouting. “I saw the snow and came to tell you because I wanted to watch the snowfall with you, but- but you weren’t waking up no matter how much I tried. And it- it makes me so sad to see you so exhausted, and- and work so hard that- that you’re too tired to do stuff like that with me. We-we already spent so little time together and whenever we’re together you’re just too tired and just sleeping. I- I hate that job of y-yours. I- I hate seeing you so- so tired and exhausted.” You hiccuped, your tears stained his shirt as you clutched onto it tightly.
He caressed your hair, trying to calm you down. He cooed, “I’m sorry, baby.” He kissed your forehead. You snuggled further into him in response. “I’m sorry for not waking up. I didn’t know you loved the snow this much.” You shook your head at that, “no, Heeseung. It’s not about the snow- it’s- it’s about-“ you couldn’t explain any further, not finding the words as you sobbed loudly.
His arms tightened around, wanting to ground your trembling body. “Baby…” he murmured worriedly.
“Shh…” he hushed in your ear, “it’s okey, it’s okey. Let it out, hm?” He patted your back soothingly. His heart ached so painfully seeing you so upset. He had never seen you this distraught, he knew that there must another reason — you were hiding something else from him.
“Baby…” he kissed your temple, mumbling against it, “it’s okey, I’m here. Hm? I’m here.” He didn’t understand why but somehow that made you cry even harder, your tears didn’t seem to have an end. He couldn’t bear to listen to it any longer, his heart was tearing at every sob.
He cupped your cheek to tilt your face to him. “Hey, hey, hey, baby. What’s wrong? Why are you crying so much…? You’re breaking my heart, babygirl.” He kissed your swollen eyelids, one by one. Then your reddish nose, followed by a kiss on your forehead. “Don’t cry… please.” You sniffled softly, slowly calming down due to his gentle kisses and soft tone. He always spoke so gently with you.
“What’s wrong, princess? Did something else happen?” He tried, his hand caressing your cheek as the other held you close to him. You hiccuped under your breath, trying to calm down. You shook your head in denial, but he saw right through you. He tilted his head softly, doe eyes waiting patiently for you. Your lower lip jutted out as the corners of your lips went down.
“Come on, princess. Tell me. You need to tell me what’s making you upset.” He pecked the corner of your sad lips.
You hesitated for a moment. “A few days ago…” you started, he nodded immediately, his bambi eyes encouraging you, “I mean- a few nights ago, I had a dream-“ your eyes filled with tears, “I dreamed that you- that you left- left me.” A sob left your mouth, the tears blurred your vision again. His eyebrows furrowed instantly.
“I dreamed that you left- left me. Out of nowhere. It was so sudden and unexpected. In my dream, I woke up to text messages from you where you said that you had other dreams and that being with me was getting in your way of achieving them.” You hiccuped, the pain resurfaced saying it out loud like that. Your voice became timid: “You told me that our relationship was holding you back from chasing your dreams.”
“Oh princess…” he buried your wet face in his neck. But you continued: “And then you told me that you’re too tired to balance a career and a relationship and that- that you love your career… more than me-“ you sobbed louder towards the end.
He patted your trembling body, “hey… it was just a dream. Hm? Just a dream, my princess. I’m here. I’m not going anywhere.” His eyes became glassy, he couldn’t bear the imagination of leaving you. Hearing you talk about it ripped his heart apart into million pieces.
He kissed the top of your head as you wetted his neck, sobbing and sobbing. “I’m not leaving you, princess. Never.” His hand smoothed over your trembling back, the other never leaving the back of your head, “it was just a dream...”
“But- but it felt so real.” You sobbed.
“I know. I know.” He murmured against your temple, lips lingering there to soothe you. “But I’m here. You’re in my arms. I’m never leaving you.” He pulled away a little to look at your tear streaked face. “I hate seeing you cry like this.” He spoke as he wiped the tears away. “That Heeseung in your dream? He is stupid, okey? He is not me,” he kissed your forehead, “never will be me. He is just a foolish idiot who doesn’t know how precious you are.” He kissed your flushed cheeks.
“You mean it?” Your small voice trembled. Doubt evident.
“Of course.” He answered firmly. “You’re my beautiful princess, alright? The most precious possession I own. I could never be so stupid and leave you behind, do you understand?” You nodded against his neck. “I love you so much, my angel.” He caressed your hair, “I will never leave you. I promise. You have no idea how much I depend on you. I can’t imagine a life without you. Never.”
His throat tightened, “I know it gets exhausting to date me. I know it’s not easy. I don’t have an ordinary life. But if I tell you you’re all I have, then I’m begging you to believe me. I promise it will get better. Our relationship will not stay like this forever. There are better days ahead. Days where I won’t be as busy anymore. And I’m truly, truly grateful that I have such a patient and understanding partner. I truly am.”
He grasped your hand and kissed your knuckles one after another. He then rested your intertwined hands on his chest, right above his heart.
“And I want you to know one thing: There are many things I want to achieve in life. Many dreams that have yet to be fulfilled. But there is not a single dream of mine that doesn’t have you in it. There’s no future for me without you. A future without you simply doesn’t exist.”
The lump in your throat appeared once again. Your eyes met his though your vision was blurry, yet again.
“Promise?” Your voice was rough from crying so much.
“I promise, angel.” He hook your pinky with his own and pressed a kiss on it. “Pinky promise,” he whispered.
You nodded, blinking your teary eyes as you settled on his chest again, seeking comfort.
“I love you so much, princess. More than you can ever imagine.”
You nodded against his chest, tightening your own arms around his torso, afraid he might disappear.
“I love you too, Heeseungie.” You rapsed, exhaustion now catching up to you.
Heeseung’s heartbeat underneath you lulled you steadily and quickly into sleep, your eyes fluttered shut.
His hand rested on your cheek, thumb drawing circles on it before he pressed a good night kiss on your forehead. After a while of caressing your cheek and patting your back, he spoke again:
“I promise, tomorrow, before I leave for work we will play in the snow, okey? We can build a snowman together.”
Silence answered him.
When he glanced down, he realized that you were already knocked out on his chest. He chuckled under his breath.
“Look at you, princess. Knocked out in under a minute. You were fighting your sleep, hm? My tired baby…”
He pulled the cover over your shoulders, making sure you were snuggled in so that no cold could reach you.
“Sweet dreams, princess.”
It didn’t take long for him to quickly follow you into the world of dreams.
Sooo… i started writing this in September last year after they finished the Walk the line tour. It somehow feels off to post this now because… yk… he’s not that busy anymore with touring/high demanding schedules so it feels kinda off and not suitable anymore. But I’m cleaning up my drafts so I had to force myself to finish this. Tbh I don’t like the ending, it feels forced and unrealistic — what do you guys think? I put some elements from our current situation… ts hurt like hell, but I had this urge to put it in the fic for some reason. I was about to make a sad ending bc I’m not feeling a happy ending with what’s going on irl but idk… I thought maybe this will comfort someone. Perhaps I don’t like this happy ending because irl we will be stuck in this nightmare forever and will never wake up from it and will never be told that this was all a dream, that he never left us, that he’s still in enhypen, and we are still engenes to him… we will never have this kinda happy ending, yeah maybe that’s the reason why I don’t like it 🫠 dang…
I would have gone in the snow alone and make a snowball and would have gone back to make him feel the cold snow when he would have been asleep... Nvm on second thought, I would feel too bad to do anything beside agreeing with him cuz he really works himself to the point beyond.
And thank you for making it a happy ending. It comforted me so much. A softness I needed. He may not be in Enhypen now but he still works the same. I miss him fuxk...
