Hard to sit here and be close to you, and not kiss you.

My heartbeat starts growing, My blood stops flowing, Your presence is clear, It turns my love for you into fear.   The wind stops it’s wicked singing, The sun stops it’s strong stinging, Your magnificent scent, Strong enough to make a straight man bent.   You are heading right towards me, Each step sounds like a death-bell’s chiming I look for your face but I see, Nothing but small rays of blonde light shining.   I can almost tell you what I feel for you, Ah, no, the school bell rings, You leave me stuck with all my feelings. Tomorrow, ‘cause today theres nothing left to do.

Your children are not your children. They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself. They come through you but not from you, And though they are with you, they belong not to you. You may give them your love but not your thoughts, For they have their own thoughts. You may house their bodies but not their souls, For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams. You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you. For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.

Take a shower, wash off the day. Drink a glass of water. Make the room dark. Lie down and close your eyes. Notice the silence. Notice your heart. Still beating. Still fighting. You made it, after all. You made it, another day. And you can make it one more. You’re doing just fine.

I know now that we never get over great losses; we absorb them, and they carve us into different, often kinder, creatures.

Scared is what you’re feeling. Brave is what you’re doing.
