This shit was no joke.
5 minutes after you took your position at the front as the hostess and the open sign had been flipped by the ‘Peach’ girl (she wished you good luck with a warm smile and handed you a box of earbuds to put in, whatever they were for…), the thunder of footsteps approaching the place was almost cinematic.
You couldn’t even finish your blink before tens, maybe even a hundred people entered at once, begging for a table, admiring the place, excitedly chattering amongst themselves.
And you fucking loved it.
You quickly divided people into the numerous, available seats with swiftness.
Each manager was assigned certain areas in the club: you had the front, left area as you were the main hostess, although positions could easily be rotated depending on who was available.
Aria was in charge of the front right position, since she was the bartender of her drink station, Rocky Road, or Raina when you overheard Mr. Sakamoto speaking with her, had the center seats, Peach girl, Mina as she introduced to you, had the back right, and Vanilla–Nelle (you honestly didn’t remember how you discovered her name) had the back left.
The atmosphere felt extremely energetic.
As time passed, you worked on autopilot, handing menus and other slips to the upcoming customers that you hadn’t realized was the unusually large shadow that blocked your sight from the overhead light.
“Welcome to Sundae’s Teen Club! What can I do for you?”
Ita. “Excuse me, young miss. I have a reservation for 8pm.”
“Sounds good. Let me see…”
You searched the computer for the 8pm attendees, but frowned at the results.
There were six names that you clearly didn’t recognize, and then you realized you never got his name.
“Sorry sir, but may I ask for your name–”
As you looked up to what force stripped your figure from the glowy shine the overhead light had given you, it became harder to hold in your gasp.
The man—no—the giant in front of you looked nothing less than perfect; he adorned spotless, white khaki pants with a slightly unbuttoned black shirt, and a brown watch to top it off.
He looked down at you with a kind smile, and a generally laid back attitude with his hands tucked into his pockets.
His hair, which was ivory, laid nicely groomed; this guy was really well put together…and behind him…!
7 MORE GIANTS.
These guys had to easily be 6 feet and above!
Besides that, you noticed that they were also dressed pretty formally, which you thought was a bit odd considering this was a hangout place.
Then for a second, you could also see a tiny tuft of black hair peeking out amongst the tree trunks–so there’s a midget too?
7 giants and a midget?? Was this real life?
The man in front of you cleared his throat, causing you to rapidly blink out of the intense, gawking stare you were probably giving him.
A scoff came behind him.
“O-Oh yes sorry!”
Ita.“The name should be under Marc Snuffy.”
“Ah yes…please follow me.”
You quickly grabbed about 10 menus and scurried to the table with the ‘Ubers’ label on it, face burning in embarrassment, and you hoped that they’d all forget the moment from 5 seconds ago.
While the giants (and the midget) seemed to seat themselves, you dished out the menus, trying not to make accidental eye contact, and pulled out the assigned manager keychain-phone and clicked Vanilla’s icon for the table.
You had helped to design an electronic server pad, which could also alert the waitresses of which table they’d be assigned to in order to avoid forgetting tables.
“Your waitress will be here in a minute or two, so please settle in and take a look at our plentiful menu! Welcome again!”
Before they could react or look up to thank you (if they even would), you swiftly bowed and scurried away back to the front.
At least your hands didn’t get clammy this time, that’s gotta count for a boost in your social skills! Plus 10000 aura fr.
Timeskip.
It wasn’t long before the trend of groups invited became obvious to you and one thing was for sure, they always made some sort of loud arrival.
“HOW MARVELOUS THIS PLACE IS!”
Oh brother…
A quite eccentric British man practically burst through the doors, throwing his arms open as he did.
His attire reminded you of the man, Snuffy, who came in earlier: He wore an off-white polo shirt with tan slacks and a brown watch–also hold up, this guy was mega fine too!
Similarly, there seemed to be some teens trailing behind him, all adorning a very disappointed face (though expecting this very extra display of boisterousness). He then looked behind him at the boys, and gave them a large smile.
“Remember Blue Lock boys, this is a day of relaxation! Even pros, such as myself of course, need this to regenerate our energy for PEAK performance! So take it easy and just have fun, okay?”
The man exclaimed, even making you wince at the volume despite his voice facing the boys.
A chorus of dull “okay’s” and “sure’s” from them was heard before he turned to face you.
“Hello, young lady! We have a table here set for 8!”
“Welcome sir, and yes I see…may I please have your name?”
Having learned from the last encounter, you felt proud that you remembered to ask, to hopefully save yourself from more embarrassment, however, you realized that for the first time since he’d been there, the man was unusually quiet.
You looked up to see his bewildered and blank stare (how is that facial expression even possible??), and subconsciously shrunk down.
Did I do something wrong?
“You don’t know who I am?”
He asked, actually sounding astounded that you didn’t recognize him, almost like family friends that were shocked that you didn’t remember them holding you at 10 months old.
“Erm…no?”
The redhead let out a snicker, but quickly stopped after the man looked back to, what you assumed to be a glare directed at the boy poking fun at his misery.
Sighing, he ran his hands through his hair, “Well, I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt…not everyone has gotten to witness the gloriousness of I, CHRIS PRINCE!”
Once again, he exclaimed extremely loudly, dramatically posing in one of those muscle flexing poses (where they pull their arms behind their back and flex).
Some people waiting behind them gave him a weird look, while others looked mesmerized.
Okay, weirdo.
But he was a fine weirdo so maybe you’d let this one slide (just a little bit).
“Reo, I’m tired…”
Mood.
A boy with white hair slumped his head on the shoulder of the purple haired boy, who simply patted his head, sighing.
“Nagi, we just got here. Didn’t you sleep on the way here?” The purple head questioned, narrowing his eyes at the boy resting on his shoulder.
“At least get to your seat first, Nagi. How are you even going to enjoy this break if you’re sleeping the whole time?”
The red-haired boy piped up, seemingly annoyed at the display.
“Fine…”
The white haired boy, or Nagi, grumbled, but finally lifted his head.
As he did that, you noticed another boy looking boredly at his phone before looking up, and gawd damn! He was tall asf too, and wait…is he black too??
Too many questions and weird occurrences were happening all at once, so you just decided to store them for later.
“Well!” You clapped your hands before grabbing a couple menus. “Right this way, Mr. Prince! And the ‘Manshine Team.’”
As you walked towards their table, you could feel someone staring, so you turned to see Chris Prince next to you, seeming like he wanted to ask you a question.
You raised your eyebrow in response to silently question his grin.
“First, please just call me Chris, or at least have the ‘Mr.’ with my first rather than the last. ‘Mr’ makes me seem far too old, and I’m still in my prime, as you can see!”
He smirked, sparkles radiating off of his smile (maybe you imagined it).
“And if I may ask, do you do any sports or physical activities?”
…
Huh??
“Your physique, while soft appearing by your waist and vibe, has some athletic components, although I can’t exactly tell what from.”
He scratched his chin to think while scanning you head to toe, seemingly missing the dumbfounded look on your face as his boldness.
“May I have your free hand for a second?”
Oh my god.
“Err, I guess?” You shuffled the menus around to cautiously offer your left hand before he grabbed it and rapidly began feeling the veins and pressing the joints in your fingers.
Letting go, he paused for a moment.
“Let me guess…volleyball! Or simply highly exceptional athletic abilities, though no actual participation in a sport outside of gym. How was that?”
How the fuck did he know?!
“The…latter…” you murmured, visibly confused while handing out the menus in their designated seats, to which Chris Prince simply gleamed at your reaction as he and the others sat.
“I’m simply an expert on this matter!”
Finally seeing how things calmed down as each person picked up their menus, you went to select someone for their table, however the stupid screen started lagging!
Who even built this crap, you grumbled to yourself, repeatedly trying to take the screen aggressively, before giving up.
It seems like you’ll have this (weirdo) table to serve.
Someone else will just have to fill your position at the front for the time being.
As you looked up, you realized that the purple head (who you assume was ‘Reo’) was staring, waiting for you to be done.
“Ah sorry, did you have a question about the menu?”
“Yes I did. I was wondering if you guys had lemon tea? It’s not specifically on the menu, but I wanted to order it for him,” he jutted his finger towards the semi-sleeping boy next to him, (apparently who was Nagi).
“It can definitely be made for him. We have all the ingredients, so I’ll simply put in a request for it,” you said, to which he smiled and nodded his head in thanks.
“Thank you, and for myself, I would like the Tropical Banana and Strawberry smoothie, please.”
“Sounds good…what would the rest of you all like?”
“Melon soda for me.” The red head piped up plainly.
Looking at Chris Prince, he pointed to an item while showing you the drinks side.
“Just this passionfruit special with beer on the side would be nice.”
“I’m fine with just water,” the quiet boy said.
“Alright! I’ll be back with your drinks shortly!”
Time to start the waitress arc!
