It’s truly bizarre that these comics that frequently come across like nobody involved ever watched an episode of Star Trek have the saucer gridlines we weren’t entirely sure existed until like, the last decade or so. The only good reference image they sent to the artist most have been a really clear photo of the ship from above.
This one in particular also appears to have the doubled up big and small running lights.

I always got the sense the greebles were to hide the fact that the ship was a kitbash and make it look like a unique build, given the out of scale parts used. Looking at just the TV screen shots, it doesn’t REALLY look like an Excelsior derivative with all those bumps and windows on it, the only thing that really jumps out at me as being the Excelsior on TV is the sensor dome, which seems somewhat anachronistic for a new build ship in the 4xxxx range. It’s worth noting that the greebles don’t appear in that bright, contrasting copper colour on screen, and I suspect they’re just painted that way to be reflective for a specific lighting pass, the same way the windows were painted in fluorescent green to glow, making it so they didn’t have to do electrical rigging.
The scale of the greebles gives the sense of a smaller ship, which is consistent with the original model’s bridge, and the size of the torpedo pod
Apparently Butch Hartman used bad meme art in the thumbnail for a video instead of drawing his own bad Timmy Turner. Like, I don't know the specifics, this isn't a video about art theft, or tracing, or referencing or whatever. But like, why do you need to do ANY of those things to draw a BAD picture? A detailed analysis of the differences between Mario 64 as it appears in Mario 3D All-Stars, and a jar of peanut butter that got left on my patio for 6 months. My apologies, most of you will probably see this after you've had a chance to play the game, and the joke about it being done before the release of the game will be diminished due to how late I am uploading this. It was entirely scripted and recorded before the release of the game, but unfortunately, life got in the way of production, and the final edit was finished moments before midnight eastern time.
