Tbh, I don't understand the fandoms hatred of Leona's sandals. Its common to wear sandals in dry and hot areas bc they're easier to remove and they don't make your feet stink too much. My family's begging me to wear sandals nowadays bc of the heat in India xD

First tip I'd give is to stop being scared to fuck up, and to acknowledge that you can fuck up. I can fuck up too. No one is telling you to get it completely right or be perfect, because that's not possible when we grew up in a racist society and internalised racist ideas about certain groups of people. Its to just be mindful and respectful, and avoid very obvious racist, Islamophobic and orientalist stereotypes by doing your own research.
Honestly its really about being willing to take criticism and suggestions by those from the groups that these stereotypes actively cause harm to, listening to us without inserting your personal feelings into the issues of racism/islamophobia/orientalism discussed, and to use your own judgement and thinking to come to your own understanding on what you can do to avoid it moving forward, without victimising yourselves or reacting with hostility, or attempting to disprove and underestimate our realities and frustration. Truthfully speaking, its honestly not hard to just avoid putting your scarabia characters in belly-dancer outfits and overly sexualised, revealing outfits. You simply just. dont draw them with belly dancer outfits and sexualised outfits. Our ancestors weren't going round exposing their stomachs and arms and tits in desert climates lmao. We STILL don't do that.

Lastly, the responsibility to consistently educate, provide resources and links does not and should not fall on racial and ethnic minority fans, so again please make use of your search engines and google. If you can spend hours researching other things, you can go out of your way to do the same for your ocs with the intention to not misrepresent or stereotype entire groups of real people in the process.
