And felt him take his toll

Continuing to press

Yet I remain, unbroken still

And never will say yes.

“I’m sorry that the last time I was with him, I tried to pick a fight. I’m sorry that I spent most of my life angry at him. I mean, for all I know, he died thinkin’ that I hate him. So, you’re right. What I’m doin’ right now—it is too little. It’s too late. I miss him, man. And I feel guilty as hell. [He is on the verge of tears.] And I’m not all right. Not at all. [pause] But neither are you. That much I know. I’ll let you get back to work.”

Sometimes, Sam and Dean forget they birthdays. When the situation demands too much attention and the days pass by. Adding to this, they can’t even really tell how old they actually are. All those times they died, all those days spent in other years and worlds and whatsover, plus their times in Hell… The concept of life, death and time stopped applying to them ages ago. But sometimes, Dean gets some pie for his birthday and Sam gets some especially delicious salad prepared by his brother just for this occasion.
