Cooler Heads Must Prevail

During tough, stressful times between friends/family members sometimes emotions will run a muck. We need to dig deep to persevere and commit our emotions in a direction that will serve us best. Therefore, we shouldn't blow up and be overly reactive to a person’s over reaction…that leads to further decay...a downward spiral of negative emotions that will get all of us no where. When the dust settles you don’t want to see that several paths and bridges around you are left in ruins.

Part 3 - What is Your Life's Philosophy?

I don't know if it requires an explanation as it seems self-explanatory to me…but basically…the circle represents the continuum of life, the plus sign indicate things (moments, people, situations, items, work, chores, play, etc., etc.) that we like, love, enjoy, are positive, good, etc., etc., versus the minus sign that indicate all the "things" that we don't like. There is a neutral area where we neither like nor dislike and an unknown area where we all start out. The dash lines allow for the movement between quadrants...all facets of our life can go back and forth between positive to negative and neutral. Everything starts from the unknown and moves into 1 of the 3 areas. Generally speaking there is no going back to the unknown once it is known.

Things That Annoy Me - 1

...People that do not drive at least the speed limit! Why does it feel like everybody I drive behind is just learning how to drive? GO AT LEAST THE SPEED LIMIT PEOPLE! My rule is speed limit + 5%...but NEVER LESS THAN THE SPEED LIMIT FOR AN UNCONGESTED ROAD!!!!

Strange(r) Advice and Keeping an Open Mind

I was at the grocery store the other day picking out grapes in the fresh fruit section and a couple of ladies were next to me also picking out grapes. The one lady says to her friend "have you ever frozen grapes before?" and her friends says "no...and eat them frozen?"...and the other lady says "yes...great treat." I heard this and initially thought it was a bit crazy because I thought the grapes would be too hard to eat…but I tried freezing a small batch just to test it out...and the lady is right...it is a great treat!

Try it...get small to medium size sweet grapes...freeze them and enjoy (and then let me know what you think).

Part 2 - What is Your Life's Philosophy?

At first I was lost for words on what I feel is my "life's philosophy". I wasn't sure that I exactly have a "life's philosophy"...which worried me a little because I'm likely about half-way through my life and I suppose I should have a "philosophy" or at least a few coherent thoughts on the matter. I started to think about how I would describe "life" to a child and after a day or 2 I came up with "there are things that we like and things that we don't like...and that is life". After a few more days of ruminating I envisioned the following graphic to represent "my life's philosophy"…

Me: “uh...no...just alligators ”

US Border: “great...any food?”

Me: [is he even listening? I just said alligators...in the sewers...in Michigan] “my lunch”

Me: “no”

US Border: “are you sure?”

Me: [?!] “yes”

US Border: “ok...don't eat it all at once. Have a nice day”

Me: [(all synapsis firing at once...a million thoughts flood my brain instantly) what do I design?! Absolutely nothing! I don’t design things. What do I tell him? Hurry! I'm not much of an "engineer" am I? What are you doing?!?!? Tell him!!! He's waiting for answer! Shit...tell him about the shit…] “I study sewers.”
