ย ย ย ย ย Once youโre pregnant long enough you start to assume that youโll always be pregnant. Or at least that had been the case Nadia Joseph Hirsch. The surprise of being with child had quickly turned into a norm of sorts. It wasnโt comfortable of course and every day brought new challenges but for all intents and purposes Nadia had gotten the hang out it. She knew what foods to avoid, how to lull herself to sleep at night despite all the aches and pains, hell sheโd even managed to get a nursery finished with only the occasional help from a reluctant Greyson. If there were a championship for being pregnant Nadia surely would have found herself in the finals but it had to come to an end eventually.ย
ย ย ย ย She just wasnโt expecting for the end to be now. Just shy of thirty three weeks into her pregnancy Nadia had decided it would be a good idea to travel to Phoenix for a client. In her defense the trip to Arizona had only meant to last the weekend and her due date wasnโt for another seven weeks. She should have been completely fine but the fetus inside of her seemed to have other plans entirely.ย The pain struck shortly before noon. In the middle of talking her clients through color swatches her water breaks. She looked down at her drenched open toe heels only to burst into uncontrollable tears.ย โNo, no, not in Arizona!โ
ย ย ย ย ย Nadia doesnโt remember getting to a hospital. Only that somehow she got to one and was rushed into a delivery room before she had the right of mind to call someone. She doesnโt have time to wallow in the loneliness that was bringing a life into this world all on her own until later. Much like giving birth by herself in Phoenix, Arizona a C-section hadnโt exactly been a part of Nadiaโs birth plan but when doctors notify her of her baby being in breech, she left with no choice but to receive one.ย
ย ย ย ย That evening when it was all over she thought she had scaled Everest, stood at its peak, exhilarated. For the first time since her water broke with her daughter wrapped in a bundle of blankets in her arms, Nadia Joseph-Hirsch didnโt feel so alone.ย โWelcome to the world Aurora Hirsch. Weโve really got to work on your timing.โย

ย ย ย ย Wails bounce from the paper thin walls of Nadiaโs studio apartment. Echoing through the halls and no doubt disturbing the neighbors who didnโt tolerated her even before the introduction of a screaming child. Rory had only been the likable one who smoothed things over with his boyish charm. In his absence came immediate shunning. It would have been comical it it werenโt also annoying as hell. Dark hues barely peel themselves open as the tired mother drags herself up from the makeshift bed of blankets. Most nights Nadia barely made it to her own room. Opting instead to sleep nestled into the plush carpeting of her daughterโs nursery in an attempt to cut down her response time altogether. If Aurora needed her, she wanted to be right there even if that meant she rarely got a good night sleep. It wasnโt like she got much sleeping done to begin with anyway.ย
ย ย ย ย โMi amor, ยฟquรฉ pasa?โ Nadia questioned the infant, scooping her up into her arms and gently swaying her. Google had said babies responded positively to rocking motions but Arieโs cries only seemed to climb in volume. โI just changed your diaper twenty minutes ago, so it canโt be that. Are you hungry?โ Except it couldnโt be because Nadia had fed her before changing her diaper. Nadia hated the guessing game, she knew her daughter couldnโt talk but why hadnโt anyone invented some other way to know what was wrong yet? It was 2015 for god sake. They could send a man to the moon and yet no one could tell her what her crying daughter wanted. โCome on, work with me here, pajarito.โ The brunette urged as the child in her arms wriggled uncontrollably. Brushing the back of her hand against Auroraโs temple Nadia checked for a fever. She breathes a sigh of relief when she finds none.
ย ย ย ย ย ย The only thing worse than a fussy child was a sick one. Auroraโs continuous shrieks pierced through Nadiaโs skin as sharply as any knife ever could. Her small arsenal of baby caring knowledge was quickly diminishing with every trick in her tool kit rendered futile the moment she used it. Her diaper was dry, she refused milk, opening the window to let some air in only made her scream louder. Nadia was beginning to lose her ever loving mind. At this point she wanted to cry along with the infant in her arms but instead she began to sing.ย โFeet on the ground, head in the sky. It's okay, I know nothing's wrong, nothing,โ Nadia wasnโt sure why the only song she could think of happened to be one of her exโs favorites but Arie was his daughter as much as hers, with any luck the song would have the same effect on their daughter as it did on Rory.
โOh! I got plenty of time Oh! You got light in your eyes.โ Nadia continued to sing in a hushed whisper, swaying her daughter along with the melody. โAnd you're standing here beside me, I love the passing of time. Never for money, always for love.โ Miraculously the familiar tune seemed to actually be working, Auroraโs wails replaced instead with happy cooing noises. Nadiaโs pause in song was immediately noticed by the fussy child but before she could begin crying again Nadia continued singing. โCover up and say goodnight, say goodnight.โ

She had their day planned to a T. Sierra had spent the morning milling around the kitchen preparing their picnic. A freshly made berry smoothie, a flask of coffee. She had taken the time to make some brownie cookies along with an array of other treats. Nadia was the ultimate chef. She was incredible compared to Sierra. But she wanted to treat her, she wanted to go out and enjoy the sunshine with her dear friend. She filled the basket along with a blanket or two and sent off the text.ย โMe, you, Ripley, Park in twenty five minutes.โย Packing some food for Ripley, she attached his lead and headed out on her way. Fingers intertwined with the lead, the other carrying the basket, she made her way her way to the park.ย
The warm sun hitting her skin as she walked. Filling her with a happiness that couldnโt compare. Twenty minutes later she tapped her chin.ย โWhereโs the perfect spot, Rip?โ she quipped, wandering around until she found a patch of grass, half hidden in shade, half lit by the sunshine. She laid out her assortment of blankets, pulling the food out of the basket along with the prepared drinks. Nodding to herself as looked at it all. Offering Ripley a bone before sitting down next to him.ย โHello pretty lady,โ Hollering as her hand waved in the air, watching as Nadia approached.ย โWhat dโya think? I thought I would make us. picnic with some alcohol free beverages, fruit and baked goods. Thoughโโ we know why you usually cook,โ Sierra bluffed sheepishly. Though she had been overly anal whilst she was in the kitchen. Making sure it was all as perfect as it could be.
ย ย ย It wasn't often that Nadia got a Saturday morning to herselfย but with Aurora left in the care of Greyson and her mother collecting easter eggs at the beach, she was free to do anything she pleased this morning. Whether Sierra knew of this information or had just gotten lucky when she decided to invite Nadia out was beyond her but she was glad for the excuse to leave the house. She doesnโt bother responding to Sierraโs text as she exits the bathroom in a cloud of steam. Bare feet leaving a trail of water droplets along the path to her bedroom. Twenty minutes hardly seemed like enough time to get through the entirety of her morning routine, so for the sake of not keeping Sierra waiting she rushed through the majority of it.ย
ย ย ย Normally Nadia walked to the park in an effort to be more environmentally friendly but since throwing together a suitable outfit had taken longer than expected she drove to make up for some of the lost time. It doesnโt take her long to find Sierra in the sea of strangers once she wanders out of the parking lot. Her friendโs familiar voice unmistakable even among the symphony of background noise. Chocolate hues drink in the sight of her friend underneath a tree a few feet away with a smile. Nadia jogs the rest of the way, effortlessly weaving through the hyperactive children separating them.ย โYouโre too cute and I donโt deserve you,โ the brunette countered as her gaze swept over the unexpected feast before her.ย
ย ย She certainly hadnโt been expecting Sierra to surprise her with a picnic and couldnโt help but feel touched by the effort. โIf the goal was to make me cry, congrats youโve done it. Shit Sierra, this is the most romantic thing anyoneโs done for me in...โ Nadia trailed as she pretended to do the math by counting her fingers.ย โlike five years. Are you about to propose to me or something? Cause I definitely would have worn a different outfit today if I knew Iโd be proposed to.โ

Sheโs always wanted to see the pyramids. Thereโs something about them in particular that has always fascinated her. They are so ancient and have seen so much that she feels like thereโs no way anyone can go see them without being changed at least a little. Itโs silly theory that she often gets teased since her mother often tells her that itโs just a tourist trap and they arenโt magical or anything but hey, everyoneโs allowed to hold a silly belief or two.

Every January Nadia says this will be the year that she officially goes vegan but thatโs a lot harder to do than she thinks. Sometimes she can go weeks without meat but she likes too big a fan of diary products to go long without accidentally eating cheese or grabbing a pint of ice cream to share with her daughter.ย

Ronnieโs photography skills definitely come in handy for Nadia from time to time. Most of her Instagram feed is thanks to the work of Ronnie and she also takes a lot of Nadiaโs before and after photos for her interior designing business as well! She also likes how ambitious the blonde is and the way sheโs always down to do anything. Nadiaโs decidedly not as down to do things and can be very frigid and inflexible but Ronnie helps to bring out a more playful/childish side of her. They have a very sisterly like relationship and as such they bump heads quite frequently. Sometimes that willingness to do whatever can always be a headache for Nadia who thinks Ronnie can be a little reckless.ย

Nadiaโs pretty vain whether she admits it or not so her biggest guilty pleasure is definitely the hundreds of dollars she tends to spend on beauty products, mostly skin care. Sheโs never had any work done but sheโs definitely been accused of it because of her sharp angled features but weirdly she doesnโt find being accused of plastic surgery as an insult.ย
Sunday services - what is your typical Sunday like?
Sundays when she lived in Los Angeles usually consisted of brunch with the girls and then a self-care pamper day with her daughter at home. Itโs the one day of the week Nadia allowed herself to completely unplug and not worry about work but now that she business is at risk of failing and sheโs back at home with her mother, she works Sundays too. Though sheโs still dragged to church before she can escape to get to Los Angeles where her office is located.ย
