BAD & BOUJEE.

Ross stiffened the instant he felt he hand on his arm, his heart racing as he turned to face the other person. He was trained to respond to emergencies - that had been, after all, his job for the past ten years - but these days, surprises weren’t exactly high on his list of favourite things and a thousand awful scenarios flashed through his mind until her words processed. “Are you – are you serious?” he asked, letting out a sigh, somewhere between relief and irritation. “An emergency for your earring?”

"As a heart attack.” Nadia replied without even an ounce of lightness in her tone to indicate she indeed viewed this as an emergency on par with having a stroke. “Not just an earring, those earrings were Cartier and probably worth more than a small child, definitely worth more than you.” She explained hastily before resorting to getting down on her hands and knees to search the ground for anything that glinted in the light. In the thirty seconds she’d been searching, she had collected two dimes, a gum wrapper and yet, no diamond in sight. The earrings had been an anniversary present from her husband which, she supposed, held more weight than the everyday presents he gave her. Either way, the last thing she felt like hearing in the luxurious comfort of her own home was his complaints when she showed up with one earring, rather than two. “Are you gonna stand there or help? Keep in mind, if I don’t find it I may actually have a heart attack and, I’m not sure how those laws work, but I’m pretty that would be on you.”

Kez barely glanced up from the dishrag and glass she was cleaning with it, though it was plain to see from her expression that she was unimpressed by one of the patrons at the bar. She was no stranger to rowdy customers, those who tried to pick fights and those who got a little too loud - she just wasn’t in the mood for it. “Cuttin’ you off after the next drink. ”

"Keezzyyy.” Nadia’s high pitch whine earned her an eye roll from a fellow patron to the left of her. She tossed a chunk of bleached blonde hair over an exposed shoulder before leaning towards Kez and flashing what could only be described as puppy dog eyes. They had gotten her not one but two Buccellati bracelets before, so she figured she would at least attempt it for snagging another Long Island iced tea. “C’mon, just a shot. How about you drink with me? Pleeaseee?” Cue the puppy dog eyes, once more. “No one’s even in here, it’s like the middle of day; all the alcohol’s gonna go to waste. One shot, on me. Literally.... Not literally....Up to you.” She teased with a lip gloss coated smile.
