okay so naam grew up in thailand, where her family’s from, until she was about 16 years old. when she was 16, she followed a relative to study in nyc.

while studying in the usa, she began to miss the prismatic beauty of her hometown. she always loved how chalong mixed older architecture and culture with contemporary, urban elements. she cobbled together designs for a video game world that blended her experiences back home, her experiences in her new home within new york, and her imagination.

in her mid-twenties, after obsessively studying coding and game design, she earned a spot in an american video game company.

she also posts songs on youtube. some are covers, others are originals. she’s not a bona fide Recording Artist, she’s more independent and does it for her own pleasure, but her music is rarely ever sloppy! semi-inspired by youtube singer raon lee. i headcanon her singing voice sounds pretty similar to raon’s.

she realized she was a woman in her late teens. she’s faced tons of fetishization, racism, and transphobia; at the same time, she recognizes she’s privileged in a way, having had a generally supportive and well-to-do family who could easily afford and were willing to help her transition. 

her race and gender identity are axes of her identity that compound a natural unease towards attention. she just wants to exist! she just wants to be creative! but people slap unnecessary labels on her, they exert unnecessary pressure on her that she never asked for. a lot of her fans, or so-called fans, fawn over her beauty, but to them it’s like a competition. ‘she’s the most beautiful Of Her Type.’ she’s like... fuck, i just want to... exist! and some days she’s not going to be picture-perfect. she wants to have that right. she’s not here to be looked at.

often gets lost in whatever she’s fixated upon at the moment. (often music, video games, or both.) very passionate. burns out frequently. please please please give her some plots, especially bc it’s amusing to write her interacting with Real Human People. she unwittingly rubs shoulders with socialites, but she’s so unsocial herself. she tends to be pretty unaware of others’ existence. like...... sure. she knows other people exist. but social interaction has never been her priority or forte? so pls give me everything. friends (best friends, frenemies, unlikely friends, fwb, etc.); enemies (though she’d probably be clueless as to whatever enmity is there); exes; someone to fall in love with? hehe ty can’t wait to write with yallz
