This felt like a punch to the throat

it’s very funny working on a game that deals pretty heavily with political systems that mostly parallel the real world’s but is also unabashedly a fantasy rpg-ass fantasy rpg. so it’s like, here’s this thoughtful plot about how capitalist nations require imperialist expansion and exploitation to sustain themselves while taking advantage of socioeconomic precarity at home to dissuade their own citizens from challenging the status quo. okay now here’s a miniboss who uses a big anchor as a flail. he’s with the dockworkers’ union. he is going to point out how your civilian occupation has materially supported the government’s campaign of imperial conquest. and then he’s going to attack you with the aforementioned anchor flail for 12 damage. and meanwhile the battle music is just going crazy like absolutely shredding with guitars and horns and organ and drums

Well meaning mutuals that you disagree with on specific things are actually so important to your dashboard microbiome because they'll introduce new blocklist entries in a safe and controlled manner. Like a vaccine against absolutely rancid discourse.

The hottest high voltage nuclear waste discourse could be going on in some fandom/political circle right next door to you, but you have no clue because you blocked everyone involved years ago after your vaccine mutual reblogged something mildly stinky from each of them.
