The Olympians
The twelve (or sometimes thirteen) Olympian Gods resided on Mount Olympus (except for Hades, whose realm was the underworld).
Aphrodite - She is the goddess of love, beauty and sexuality.
Apollo - He is the god of oracles, healing, archery, music and arts, sunlight, knowledge, herds and flocks, and protection of the young.
Ares - He is the god of war, and often represents the physical or violent and untamed aspect of war and is the personification of sheer brutality.Â
Artemis - She is the goddess of the hunt, the wilderness, wild animals, the Moon, and chastity.
Athena - She is the goddess of wisdom, olives, weaving, and battle strategy.
Demeter - She is the goddess of the harvest, agriculture, fertility and sacred law.
Dionysus - He is the god of the vine, grape-harvest, wine-making, wine, fertility, ritual madness, religious ecstasy, and theatre.
Hephaestus - He is the god of fire, metalworking, stone masonry, forges, the art of sculpture, technology and blacksmiths.
Hera - She is the goddess of marriage, women, childbirth, and family.
Hermes - He is the god of boundaries, roads and travelers, commerce, thieves, athletes, shepherds. He is a psychopomp and divine messenger.
Hestia - She is the goddess of the hearth, home, domesticity, virginity, family, and the state.
Poseidon - He is the god of the sea, storms, earthquakes, and horses.
Zeus - He is the King of the Gods, and god of the sky, lightning, thunder, law, order, and justice.
