fourth of july town america 250
The upcoming graphic novel adaptation of Disney Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas: The Hour of the Pumpkin Queen is adapted by Amanda Deibert with interior art by Alessio Petillo (with Sandra Maríe Parea on some editions). It follows Sally and Luna as they travel through the Holiday Realms, including Fourth of July Town. (Comic Book Club)
For a live-action America 250th Anniversary (1776–2026) interpretation inspired by the book's Fourth of July Town, these are fitting known and imagined locations based on the novel's descriptions and patriotic fantasy style:
Liberty Star Hall – The town's grand gathering hall, decorated with glowing stars, historic banners, and crystal chandeliers shaped like fireworks.
Tom Sparkler's Fireworks Workshop – The workshop where Tom Sparkler invents magical fireworks that paint stories across the night sky.
Glass Dome Neighborhood – Rows of rounded glass-roofed homes so residents can watch fireworks from their beds, matching the novel's description of dome-shaped houses beneath constant fireworks. (The Nightmare Before Christmas Wiki)
Founders' Square – A central plaza featuring statues inspired by the American founders, surrounded by red, white, and blue gardens.
America 250 Plaza – A commemorative square celebrating the 250th anniversary with illuminated "250" monuments and historical murals.
Freedom Flame Monument – An eternal magical flame symbolizing independence.
Stars & Stripes Promenade – A festive boulevard lined with glowing patriotic lanterns and banners.
Liberty Bell Courtyard – A fantasy version of the Liberty Bell surrounded by musical fireworks.
Patriots' Market – Shops selling enchanted flags, sparklers, ribbons, sweets, and festival souvenirs.
Fireworks Amphitheater – An outdoor performance venue where fireworks, music, and magical light shows occur nightly.
Eagle Lookout Tower – An observation tower crowned with a giant eagle overlooking the town.
Constitution Gardens – Formal gardens filled with red, white, and blue flowers, marble fountains, and patriotic topiary.
Uncle Sam's Home – The residence of Fourth of July Town's holiday leader, blending Colonial architecture with whimsical fantasy elements.
River of Reflections – A calm river that mirrors the nightly fireworks in brilliant colors.
Freedom Gate – The portal connecting Fourth of July Town to the other Holiday Realms.
In a live-action adaptation, Fourth of July Town would resemble a magical Colonial-American village fused with Tim Burton-inspired fantasy: brick streets inlaid with glowing stars, white-columned buildings, bunting that gently waves without wind, towering clockwork fireworks launchers, shimmering glass domes, and a sky filled every night with enchanted red, white, and blue fireworks that never leave smoke behind. Tom Sparkler's workshop would glow with brass machinery, colorful powders, and intricate rocket designs, while the town's architecture would combine Revolutionary-era America with whimsical gothic fantasy.

Weather town
In Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas: The Hour of the Pumpkin Queen: The Graphic Novel, adapted by Amanda Deibert with artwork by Alessio Petillo (and Sandra Maríe Parea), Weather Town is one of the many Holiday Worlds that Sally visits or encounters during her adventures through the Hinterlands. However, the graphic novel does not provide a detailed map or a complete list of named locations within Weather Town. (Simon & Schuster) Based on what is shown in the artwork, the known or identifiable places include:
Weather Town Gate – the portal entrance connecting the town to the Hinterlands. Storm Towers – tall towers that appear to channel or regulate lightning and thunderstorms. Cloud District – neighborhoods built among drifting clouds. Rainfall Streets – areas where gentle rain falls continuously. Snow Quarter – an icy district covered in snow and frost. Sunshine Plaza – a bright open square beneath clear skies. Rainbow Arch – a colorful bridge linking different weather regions. Windmill Hills – hills topped with giant windmills and weather vanes. Weather Observatory – a large building used to observe and manage the skies. Lightning Rod Spires – towering structures that safely collect bolts of lightning. At this time, no restaurants, shops, inns, houses, or other buildings in Weather Town have been officially named in the graphic novel or its accompanying material. The artwork focuses on Weather Town's changing climate and fantastical atmosphere rather than individual businesses or residences. (Simon & Schuster
Hall of time workshop
For a live-action adaptation of Hour of the Pumpkin Queen, these three Time Town residents would feel like the unsung heroes who keep the machinery of existence running. While Sally, Luna, and Scorch race across the Hinterlands solving mysteries, these are the people literally repairing the flow of time itself.
Nick O'Time – Keeper of the River of Time
The rugged figure in the first image perfectly captures how Nick O'Time is described.
A weathered Time Keeper stationed along the River of Time.
He fishes with heavy nets for inertia stones, removing them before they clog the river and disrupt the flow of time throughout the human world.
His long navy coat, worn gloves, muddy boots, and practical demeanor suggest years of difficult labor.
The large pocket watch hanging from his neck reminds viewers that every second matters.
He isn't a grand hero. He's a working man whose quiet dedication prevents catastrophe.
"Time Keepers haul them out with their nets so as to keep time flowing smoothly." (The Nightmare Before Christmas Wiki)
Father Time – Master Clockmaker of Time Town
The second image embodies Time Town's ruler.
Towering and broad like a grandfather clock.
Draped in rich burgundy robes embroidered with hourglasses.
Multiple watches hang from chains across his chest and wrists.
His clock-faced spectacles constantly tick as he monitors countless timelines.
Father Time oversees:
the Hall of Time,
the maintenance of Time Town's great clockworks,
the synchronization of holiday realms,
and repairs to temporal disturbances.
Although powerful, he's exhausted from carrying the burden of keeping existence ordered.
Sally describes him as a "bear of a man," endlessly fixing and winding clocks. (The Nightmare Before Christmas Wiki)
Noona – Apprentice of the Clockworks
The third image creates a beautiful interpretation of Noona.
Although less is revealed about Noona in the novel than Father Time or Nick, she appears among the residents of Time Town and works alongside the Time Keepers. (The Nightmare Before Christmas Wiki)
In live action, she could be imagined as:
the youngest clockwork repair specialist,
carrying lanterns powered by captured moments,
tracing fractures in timelines before they widen,
recording lost seconds and misplaced memories,
guiding travelers through Time Town's shifting corridors.
Her flowing dark attire decorated with tiny hourglasses gives her an almost ghostly elegance—like someone who walks between past and future without fully belonging to either.
Together: The Clockworks Repair Team
In a live-action film, Nick, Noona, and Father Time would form the heart of Time Town's maintenance crew:
Nick O'Time retrieves inertia stones from the River of Time.
Noona diagnoses and repairs delicate temporal mechanisms.
Father Time oversees the great clockworks governing every realm.
When Halloween Town's clock is broken, these three aren't warriors or rulers seeking glory.
They're mechanics.
Caretakers.
The people who stay awake through endless nights tightening gears, replacing springs, and stitching broken seconds back together so the rest of the Hinterlands can continue moving forward.
It makes Time Town feel wonderfully human: beneath all the magic and hourglasses, the universe survives because someone is willing to do the repair work nobody notices until time stops.
