alright so. mcsm wild west au. i had a couple notes in the. well. notes. of my art pieces so just for consistency's sake:

annnnnnddd something key to note rq before i start: i never intended for this au to be accurate to an actual time era lmao. i like cowboys. im being silly with it. i also know how silly the colored text looks but i gotta break it up somehow man 🥀

the overall idea was that beacontown was kind of like. the heart of the west. a big flourishing town that was basically ran by sheriff gabriel but the actual founder/mayor would probably be like. steve or something. i dunno. not important

i had the vague idea of the witherstorm being a literal storm? one that sweeps across the country (hitting beacontown, redstonia, boomtown, champion city, etc) and it wreaks a ton of destruction and death wherever it goes.

i noted that gabriel would pass the mantle of sheriff to petra, and i figured maybe that would be because she (along with jesse but we'll get to her) was one of the few civilians who stepped up to save others during the fallout. maybe she was a bit of a mercenary before that, drifting around between towns without anywhere to really go

ellegaard i always pictured to be this proper madame with an excellent reputation for her intelligence and wit. she's an inventor and mechanic first and foremost, and mentors students second. i lowk wasn't gonna be super serious with it but im so endeared by the idea of her being married to magnus. they probably married young (maybe as a dare or just so that people would get off their tails about settling. lavender marriage perhaps,,,)

then magnus is absolutely this outlaw wanted for arson and destruction of property and thievery and probably kidnapping and. you get the idea. lmao. when people hear about him they shit bricks but when they see him. oh. its just this short bald guy okay. he probably stops by redstonia just to say hey to ellie and see how long it takes before someone recognises him and chases him out of town again. they never catch him and ellie's more just exhaused than anything lmfao

i never thought a whole lot on ivor but i thinnkkkk he would be the kinda guy who was like. sinisterly alluding to the storm. the cassandra type character who's like "hey theres?? a giant storm? we're all gonna freaking die??" and no one believes him because he's a weirdo and creepy looking and messes with 'potions' and elixirs and stuff. he kinda thinks the towns got what they deserved for ignoring him but he's good at what he does and helps people recover from it all. basically a rudimentary healer

and like i said in the notes. soren is probably this guy that just has a bunch of wares that you literally could not find anywhere else for hundreds of miles lmao. he probably killed the competition /j no but he's a very closed off kind of guy. the kids in town visit his shop a lot because he's got a lot of cool stuff but he also freaks them out a little. there's probably a rumour going around that if you actually manage to keep eye contact with him then you'll turn into a creature with long limbs and your eyes will turn purple <33

okay jesse is probably the clearest in my mind with her role. during the witherstorm she was OUT there doing shit. helping people to safety. assisting with packing away supplies and keepsakes people couldn't afford to lose. she had her life on the line 24/7 and if asked why she did it, she'd just say it was the right thing to do. maybe she was a bit of a cowpoke herself in her younger years, and that's where she met reuben? i havent really considered his role yet lmao for all her risks and sacrifices, whoever ran the town all but gave up their position to her, and from then on she became the town mayor.

jesse then appointed lukas to be her deputy mayor (the reason for which i. still dont know. i need to think about their dynamic LMAO) and he helped her out with her duties around town, especially writing all the letters that constantly got sent back and forth across the country. i don't really have much lore on lukas or the ocelots yet but i do think he had a background in construction and maybe worked on jesse's farm for a little bit when they were younger. shrug. ask me later LMAO

s2 is a whole nother can of worms that i quite frankly do not have the brainspace to open just yet but!! that is to say!! s2 will have elements along the line as i keep working at this ghjhgfg

and as a bonus for getting through all the yap: previous jesse designs :) because i got very tripped up on which jesse i wanted to use for her (far left was green suspenders inspired i just lost the image of him lmao)
