Varna Chameleon: Varna restaurant, Arhus by Verner Panton-

Panton was known for his psychedelic designs and the Arhus restaurant was no exception. Designed in 1971 at the pinnacle of his career the Varna restaurant was a visual feast of colour, pattern and texture. In the corridor he used his ‘curve’ design for not only the floor and walls but also the ceiling, creating a tunnel of colour lit by plastic ball lights. The wire Pantonova furniture was designed especially for the Varna restaurant. Every last detail was taken into consideration and even the toilets were given the Panton makeover!
