His right arm was heavily bandaged and there were marks extending to his right elbow that emerged from under the bandages. His left arm was better, but his left hand had several broken fingers.

She looked up from her book when she heard his voice, excitement coloring her features until the words registered. It wasn't until she laid eyes on him, though, that her features fell and she leapt to her feet, book completely forgotten. "Oh my Titan, what happened?!"

The palisman wasn't hurt physically but was severely spooked by the same situation. Alex would hold out his left arm for Loki to rest upon and petted its head to help calm it down. "We're safe now." A portion of the bandage on his right arm was stained red.

Returning his attention to Emira. "I had to make a statement that made that island forbidden for anyone on the Isles to go to. Gave my map so they could identify the location of the island as well as had to view my memories from that."

The inquirer had neatly kept blond hair and blue eyes. Underneath the Hexside school uniform was a violet cowl, giving away his path as among the Oracle Track.

"You dash about the classes in such a frenzy it makes it hard to cross paths with you."

The new voice distracted Luz from retrieving the necessary tomes from her demonic locker. In response, she looked over her shoulder and grinned, always keen on making a new friend or acquaintance! The human flashed a thumb’s up and winked, paying no attention to the live storage creature behind her.

“Yup that’s me! My name’s Luz, and I’m…” she was curt off at the locker bit down on her backpack, snarling as she began tugging on it! “H-HEY! Give that back! Bad toothy-locker! Bad boy! Girl?! Creature?!?! Let go!” she exclaimed, placing both feet on it as she pulled with all her might! Of course, the locker then released its catch sending Luz tumbling backward into the very witch that addressed her. Now both students are on the ground in a heap!

He was going to wait for her to finish speaking before introducing himself in turn, but calm turned to panic at the sight of the locker taking advantage of the opening. Seeing her struggling with it for several moments, he started making his way over to get her backpack free.

Seeing her placing her feet on it for leverage, his eyes shot open, knowing of the potential hazard that it would pose if the locker released its grip.

"Luz, I don't think that's a good idea. If it..." His words would be cut off as the locker did just as he was about to speak and released her bag. Seeing her flying, there wasn't enough time for him to get out of the way. Even if there was, it was his fault that her backpack got caught.

Though he would attempt to dig his feet in to stop her, it wasn't that useful along the tiles of the floor. Falling backwards from the force of the impact, his right eye would clench shut, cringing from the pain of the impact.

"Everyone has different priorities after all. Focus on what's best for everyone and try to satisfy in as many ways as possible." It was no easy task to lead, which is why he could believe his mom needed a break.

She considered his words and nodded along. "I think you have a good point. It is a good exercise. Being able to use multiple magics at once is taxing but also rewarding and useful."

"Discuss whenever possible but fight only when necessary. We should never act just to stay ruling." Deception or violence to stay in power was never right. To make the people's lives as good as possible was always a balancing act.

"It opens up options, but also inspiration for things like arts and architecture."

He lets out a sigh of relief hearing that he wasn't the cause. "Thank the titan." He mutters softly. "I didn't want to distract from everything on your plate." He admits.

"You always said that the stuff that needs to get done usually isn't what people want to do. Then again, you also said not to push yourself too hard." He would playfully recite some advice that she gave him.

"Everyone has different priorities after all. Focus on what's best for everyone and try to satisfy in as many ways as possible." It was no easy task to lead, which is why he could believe his mom needed a break.

All he could do was focus on the here and now. There wasn't any way to make everyone happy, all that could be done was make most of them happy and hopefully satisfy the rest.

He was going to eventually ruling the Boiling Isles, with that position was several separate issues that he didn't put much thought into as he could only focus on preparing himself.

Still thinking that there was a lot of matters being discussed that was taking up his mom's time, he didn't think that Darius and his mom was watching.

Hearing his mom's voice, did startle him a bit, but he would keep himself mostly still, though would turn to look at his mom. "Still need to practice on the fluidity of the motion." It was hard to try and get a balance between plant magic and his natural elemental magic. The combination had to be perfectly balanced, lest one side overtakes the other.

"Wait, did I interrupt your meeting by someone bringing up my practice?" He didn't want to cause his mom more problems on top of all that she was discussing.

Lilith shook her head in response and answered, "You didn't interrupt. We were able to draw things to a close for the day. I was getting a little tired from dealing with matters of state for most of the morning and afternoon."

He lets out a sigh of relief hearing that he wasn't the cause. "Thank the titan." He mutters softly. "I didn't want to distract from everything on your plate." He admits.

"You always said that the stuff that needs to get done usually isn't what people want to do. Then again, you also said not to push yourself too hard." He would playfully recite some advice that she gave him.

With everyone being busy, Alex didn't want to burden his mom given all of her duties. That and he was getting a better handling on his magic, but didn't want to show anyone until he felt fluent with his circles.

Letting his body limber up and remain fluid, his right hand would glow a deep orange almost brown color as his left-hand glowed a deep green.

"Yes, Steve, I believe I'm done for the day." She waved a hand in dismissal to the remaining council. "I think we're at a decent spot to end proceedings for the day."

"Very well," Darius replied. He glanced at Lilith, brow furrowing a bit. "I haven't seen the prince at all today."

"He's probably busy training," Lilith answered easily. "At least, if I know him like I think I do, that's what he's doing." She got to her feet and started towards the door, with Darius falling into step beside her. Lilith glanced at him curiously and noted, "You seemed tense today."

"Just because I've heard some...concerning opinions from a certain member of the council. Someone that isn't pleased with how things are being run and think they can do better." He looked at Lilith seriously and replied, "Your family has, for the most part, been quite efficient and well-loved by the Isles. But you must know you have enemies."

"Frankly, I'd be a little worried if I didn't. Because it would mean that whoever my enemies are, they're quite gifted at hiding their motives." The pair paused just outside the courtyard and Lilith said, "Can we arrange a time to discuss this further? I'd like to spend time with my son."

"Of course. I can meet you tomorrow morning over coffee, if you have the space in your schedule." He caught a glimpse of what Alex was doing and smiled. "You were right. He's training."

"Of course I was right," Lilith responded, sounding pleased. She reached out, gently touching his arm. "Thank you for alerting me, Darius."

His gaze softened a bit more and he replied, "Anytime, Lilith."

He would wait for her to bring up the topic. Until that point, he would do his best to remember to not speak of it.

Taking a small bite. "Think it was the atmosphere if anything regarding fancy food." Mainly due to their mother and partially due to Alador.

"No offense to the butlers, but I don't think they have a sense of taste, so I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving them with the cooking. I could be wrong." He admits, somewhat afraid of seeing what may be concocted by the abomination butlers. It's not their intention, but there was only so much that can be done.

Her reaction at the mention of kids wasn't what he expected, and he felt bad about it. He knew that she would be a much better mom than her mother was to her, but he wasn't going to push the subject.

"Having someone else assigned to do it makes it feels that it's being done to maintain an appearance. Just how I feel about it. We clean it because it is our home and we're proud of it and we don't want to get sick. You work harder for the most part, so you shouldn't have to do much work when you get home." He would move and sit down beside the couch on the side of the couch closest to Emira's head.

For the time being, she was going to actively avoid the topic of kids and hopefully it would blow over. It was a difficult subject for her; she knew that it was something they'd have to discuss eventually. "I get that, it's just different. It changed after my parents split but I'm still not super good at all the domestic stuff," she noted.

Given the situation with her parents for her life, he wasn't sure how long it was going to be before she might be comfortable with the topic of kids. He thought that it might have been enough, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
