So, I just wanted to talk about something a bit controversial for once. All of this is purely my opinion, and if you can’t respect that, then please don’t continue reading. Thank you. 

I actually take it bit personal. So sorry if this seems selfish.

When I grew up there where a lot of games for girls. The type that I like to call ‘little mommy games’. Why? Because they seem to think girls should only want to become mothers. Cooking, baby sitting, even some pet games. A lot of it had a care-taking role. (or fashion) I was not a fan of those. I alwayed sneaked into my brothers room to play this games when he wasnt around. His games often put you in the role of a hero. My parents didnt mind I played them but they never got me games like that.

I got a subscription box in the mail called ‘Pollux’. It was horse oriented. In this box you got, figurines, games, book, newspapers and few stuff for horses (brushes or things to put in their manes). Most of the games I got was the classic ‘save the farm’ not really exited but you know. Untill I got Starshine Legacy. Where you played as four girls and save the world from aliens and eldric horrors. It wasnt anything like the jak and daxter or ratchet and clank games. But just having a game that was ‘for girls’ and you  werent in a ‘mother-role’ and instead the hero and saving the world was really amazing to me. 

When my friend told me about SSO I thought it was amazing and I remember the feeling when I first play SSL. SSO have evolved a lot since SSL and it gotten so much better. And I think its important for young girls to have a game where they play as the heroine. And games where you can choose the gender isnt really the same for me. While it is good in its own way what there is little different whereever you choose boy or girl. Showing gender doesnt matter. I just ont think its the same empowerment as a girl only. There are many games where you play as a female hero now days but few are for younger girls. I think its important that SSO stay as a girl character only game. If guys like to play it than that is good. It means SSO has a story that many people find enjoyble. But to say it means SSO need to add a male character is bad. There are tons of male only character games. Like RDD2. I have seen few peope compare the two games but noone seems to complain you cant play as a girl in it. And now when there is a populare girls game it has to make room for male character because the guys feel left out?

I like Shizuka, and Rengoku for some reason. Ha.
