“Oh no… no, no, it’s nothing, don’t worry…” Vesper put on a smile. Emotions were complicated. Flashes of emotion over something she otherwise felt little connection to. It must have meant something to her. On some subconscious level. She picked up the book on vampires from the shop’s shelf.
“Terrible creatures,” She gave an unsteady chuckle, showing her companion the book. Perhaps some explanation for the sudden sway of dread she had felt spotting it.
“are you, honestly sure that youre okay?” They ask, leaning on the bookcase to maybe even get lower to her level. Their height, something They had from their father, was just a bit of a curse when talking with vesper. She was short, they were tall. Not a good match.
“Im sure of it.” She states at the off topic remark. “Had fought one before. they put up a hard fight.”
“Have you?” Vesper sounded possibly more hopeful than a simple normal amount of curiosity for adventure would have suggested. Vesper was secretive, there was no real secret about that. She rarely talked much of herself and never of her past. Perhaps it was wearing thin. It was to Vesper anyway. Muse had been nothing but kind to her since inviting her backstage to meet her.
“I’m alright, thank you…” Vesper continued to look at the shelf of books, glancing over to Timon, her tiefling cleric friend who insisted on sticking around, flirting with the shopkeeper.
“Would you tell me about that? Fighting vampires?”
“It was a rather long time ago, I would have to consult my journal..” they state, looking around at the books, especially the blank ones. They had always journaled after a big fight. It was hard to remember the specifics, and their mind was a swampy mass full of trauma already so they had to notate their travels just for it to be let go.
“Vesper, Dove, is there anything else you’re curious of? Other than vampires?”
