You are showing a dictionary, but I am showing a poll. Polls are better evidence than dictionaries. Polls, not dictionaries, are what linguists use to measure popularity. Dictionaries aspire to describe conventional usage, but the dictionary you are showing has not kept up with a change in common usage. I elaborate in an article here.

Dictionaries are great. I use them daily. But when a word’s conventional meaning is contested, as here, polls provide better evidence. I understand TERFs do not care about reality. The words “man” and “woman” conventionally refer to sex assigned at birth (not gender or identity):

Sex assigned at birth is self-evidently binary and immutable (unchangeable).

One’s biological sex and birth-assigned sex are the same in almost all cases, but in cases where they differ, it is birth-assigned sex which determines whether one is a “man” or “woman”.

Imane Khelif is a biological male who was assigned “female” at birth. Therefore:

his pronouns are “he/him”, since pronouns refer to biological sex; and

he is a woman, since he was assigned “female” at birth.

Here women fought long and hard for rights that were denied them. A right to vote, separate public facilities like toilets and changing rooms, a right to attend university and earn degrees. Laws that recognised rape in marriage. The removal of laws that meant women on marriage had no property of their own as it became their husband's property.

Historically, females were deprived of voting, education, and property, but presently the rights to voting, education, and property are shared equally by males and females, and so I would not call them “women’s” rights.

You say that women were denied separate toilets and changing rooms, but I do not understand what you mean. There were men’s rooms but no women’s rooms? I cannot believe that, so I must be misunderstanding you.

Current laws against rape are discriminatory against males and thus ethically indefensible. Current laws against rape penalize males for their biology. Ethical laws against rape would be framed in terms of sexual consent, penalizing anyone who violates others’ consent. If a male and female are both too drunk to consent but have sex anyway, the law should punish them equally (or not at all). Current laws against rape punish the male but not the female, which is discrimination. The right to protection from non-consensual sex should be held by males and females equally. It should not be a right belonging to females only.

The word feminism became popular again towards the end of the Seventies when much had been achieved, such as refuges for victims of domestic violence, single sex centres where women could find female support and empowerment..., and free counselling.

Domestic violence is perpetrated by females and victimizes males more than the other way around:

in nonreciprocally violent relationships, women are the perpetrators in more than 70% of cases;
