Prototype x Fem! Reader, Teen! Oliver ludwig x Teen! Fem! Reader, Fluff, childhood best friends,(both the characters are teens and above 13. Though they are 11-12 in this part)
NOTE! - Domestic Violence!, Post Trauma! Mentions of Child abuse!, Oliver is aging as time pass normally in this fiction. None of the characters who are depicted in a relationship is adult x minor.
No matter how many people have said that time itself as a concept is boring, it will always fascinate her. The most dreadful and exhausting moment of your life could feel like a year, while a moment where you wish that could go on forever would not even last a second. The days she spends at the orphanage felt similar to that.
Often times where she found her self enjoying something, like reading, it would feel like she's chasing time itself, while at moment's like where she's sitting at the small school, listening to ways about solving equations would feel like forever.
Though it felt a bit different than before, and maybe a little bit more lively ever since a little idiot thought it would be good to hangout with an edgy sixth grader. The morning's where she spent quietly and in relax were now no more.
"I can't wait until we start learning about the human anatomy and photosynthesism. I'm already learning about how to solve structural questions in maths!"
The girl simply looked up from her breakfast plate, a sad excuse for a sandwich and a hell- spawned salad with an apple for 'nutritiants'.
"Wow... When are you planning to graduate again? Next month?"
"If I could then, I'd like to do that in three months!"
She sighed, not bothering with wanting to talk about the high privilege of learning with, 'Naive Golden retriever who talks too much' as she said after a week of meeting Oliver. It wasn't a whole lie. He did found his way to talk about anything if there was even a single awkward moment. And deep inside, she really appreciated it.
_____ Has never really been social. Other than her old teddy bear who she used to cling onto at nights, she never had a proper 'best friend'. While the only time where she had children trying to be friends with her was when some adults tried to make their kids get along with her so that they can become business partners with her parents. Yes, she was a 'privileged kid'. Whatever that means.
She had a parent who was a business man and another who worked as a scientist for a toy company. She have met Ludwig once as well. Though she doesn't recall much memory since she was only a child then.
And now, she was surrounded by kids and one of them happens to have no other things to do other than 'bother her'.
"Do you really have nothing to do at all? You have been sitting here for so long yet you haven't even touched your food."
The curly haired boy looked down, and grimaced before laughing awkwardly.
"Ahaha.. yeah I don't think I'm hungry."
"fair enough. This looks like a one way trip to meet Jesus so.. I'm not judging."
The boy sighed, his biology book hanging beside his hand as he slumped down to his chair. He looked up, and saw the girl touching around her own food with a fork, all bored.
"Hey, do you want to go to the playground?"
She looked up, and sighed, giving up on acting as if she liked what's on her plate.
"Sure. I'm bored anyways."
The Playtime Co. Orphanage was small but it provided for the children. School, playground, and most importantly a safe place to call home.
The only home they'll have anyway.
The playground was a mystery of itself. At times, it would be as crowded as a grocery store on black Friday while on other times, it would be empty like school on a snowy day. The girl was absent mindedly swinging on a chair as Oliver was laying on the mat below, drawing something oh so giddly. It took a long time to realise that she was actually staring at him.
'I just zoned out. That's why i was staring at him.' She tells herself. But continues to stare at him anyway.
The moment quickly passes as a loud voice rings aloud.
"Hey look! It's Miss Trashy panda and Nerdy Nepo!"
A cluster of laughs ran around as five kids, lead by a rather tall kid with black hair, walks up to the two children. Oliver quickly gets up, sitting properly as he stares up at them with a 'here we go again' look that seems very similar to a deadpan.
The girl looked up bored, her face showing no hint of amusement.
"Good morning to you too Michael. You look kind of upset, Did you get constipated again?"
The snarky grin almost immediately fell of the kid's face as the others around him became quiet, one of them fighting a subtle smile.
"It's just that, you seem to look funnier than usual."
The black haired boy stepped up, his face crumpling to an annoyed face than a mocking one. But the girl held his stare, not backing down.
"Please do tell an adult if you begin to feel even funny, yeah? Don't want you making a mess everywhere.."
The kids in the back laughed more obviously, finally pushing him over as he kicked the stash of pencils and the art book Oliver was working with. Making him softly gasp.
"Hey!" He made a desperate yell, face falling at the sight of his work crumpled and pushed over.
The girl, placed her hand down on her lap, her jaw Clenching at the boy's action. Knowing that he did it purposely to piss her off.
"look here, Miss Trashy", He said with a sneer,
"If I hear you speaking to me like that again, his stupid, fugly art isn't the only thing that's going to be kicked." He made a distasteful face at her, before giving a mocking laugh at her unresponsiveness.
Oliver only glared harder with an upset look. Holding onto his book.
As he turned to leave, his foot glided on another as he fell straight down towards the fake grass, the kids around gasping and running to help him as the girl stood up. a sudden force stopped her, trying to tug her back by the bottom of her dress. Oliver looked up, pleading with his eyes silently. She didn't spare him a look, Only going forward as Michael stood up. The middle of his eyebrows now having a cut with a red splint.
"You!- you stupid rat!"
"Next time you try to bother me or him again, I'll make sure it's not just your face that has a cut."
The call out made him even more angry, as he grunted and pushed her down, making them both fall as he tried to punch at her face, making her glasses fall down and get forgotten as the kids rushed, some of them pulling Michael and some along with Oliver trying to take her away from the obvious, angered kid.
It wasn't long before one of the teachers of the school inside Playcare came and stopped the childish brawl. giving a handful of scolding along with a detention to Michael. The teacher dragged him off as she didn't spare the two children a look. The other kids also slowly went back to the school as Oliver took her hand, trying to make her stand. She had a small cut on her lower lip and a small tear on her dress.
The boy visibly pouted, taking her appearance in a guilty look before he sat her down in a bench near the ground.
"M-my glasses.."
He immediately snapped his head around, walking towards the place where they were as soon as he saw the familiar black frame. Only, there was now a crack on the left eye as he frowned, bringing it to her as he sat beside her. Holding it up as the girl only sighed.
"don't worry. It needed to be replaced anyway."
"but still..."
"Hey. I told you already, It doesn't matter. I'll just get a new one."
Even as the girl insisted, he could see the way she bit down the inside of her cheek. The usual bite of her words were not present, only showing the brimming tears that made her eyes shine under the light. It softened his gaze, as he lowered his hand and looked down to the ground. Their feet hanging defeatedly.
"Thank you."
The girl looked up, now seeing a soft, sincere smile on his face. He opened his mouth, before closing it again as his cheeks picked up a rosy tint that made him tilt his head down. The girl however, gave him a skeptical look, as he elaborated.
"Thank you for standing up to me, you didn't had to.. But you did anyway."
The words itself was said very preciously. Like he meant it with his heart. It made the ___ Girl slowly focus on him, her glossy eyes that were filling with tears now pausing.
"I just did what anyone should have done. Don't praise me for a simple thing."
"I'm not. I'm appreciating that you defended me. Even when i couldn't defend myself, you decided to stand up to him..."
His eyes kept going to her face for a fraction of a second before going back down while saying it. He then smiled to himself almost, And confidently looked towards her.
"Even though you seem distant and cold.. I think deep down, you care so much about the people who are around you."
He gently took her hand, the girl's eyes following toward his actions as he placed the broken glasses slowly.
"Even though you might be mean sometimes, you have good intentions with you..."
Oliver snapped out of his rambling, as he finally looked straight forwardly at her eyes. His eyes checking every detail on her face. The slightly clenched jaw now relaxed, her mouth open a bit, with a hint of unexpectency and shock displayed on her face.
For some reason Oliver couldn't stop staring at her. It was like he was reading one of his story books. But it went away as soon as his gaze lifted up to her eyes, seeing her teared up eyes now almost spilling, as if she herself didn't realise it was happening.
He quickly took his hand away, his cheeks burning as he apologized.
"Sorry! I- I didn't mean to make you sad! I just wanted you to know that-"
A small sniffle escaped from her. She took her hand back, before wiping her cheek.
"Thank you, Ollie. It means so much to me."
The boy couldn't move a muscle, he didn't know how to react. Whether to be concerned at the fact that she is trying to hide herself away into a shell, or to be happy because she called him by his nickname. he could only stare as the girl got up, slowly walking towards the orphanage shelter.
He bit the inside of his cheek, thinking he might've made the exchange worse than it was.
The retrieving form of her made him sigh, as he slumped down his shoulders. His heart felt heavy. And he didn't knew whether it was a pleasant feeling or not. For one thing that he is sure of however, is that being around her gives him feelings that confuses him.
The sound of foot steps echoed through the hollow space as the little girl looked up, seeing a familiar hallway as she took in her surroundings. the dimly lit lights in the hallway flickered as the sound of a radio static became loud.
"And in exactly at five thirty this afternoon, the local police has made a report of an unexpected accident on ____, followed by the death of a businessman in the name of Mr. ____ and his wife, Mrs.____."
The more she tried to make the moment make sense, the more she felt as if the walls beside her were suffocating her mind. Closing in through every corner. She tried to walk forward, seeing the small light in the very end of the hallway.
"The report shows that the tragedy took place after an unexpected accident of a collision of two vehicles."
The radio static became a faint sound in the distance as she walked towards the end. The Hallway felt as if it was getting more longer the more she tried to walk. The sound of a familiar pair of a couple began to come louder through the end of the narrow hallway.
Her slow, gentle footsteps began to start becoming fast, as the rushed voices began to grow even louder. Her breathing shifted to a suffocated one as she tried to get towards the end of the hall, the voices becoming louder and more clearer.
"You know damn well I don't like these type of plans and I told you so many times! Is it too hard for you to open your ears and listen?!"
The sound of her dad's voice rang loud inside her ear, almost as if he's yelling beside her ear.
"I-i know you have worl but... Her Birthday was coming up and, and I thought she would love to have a special gift-"
"For what?! So she'll get even more spoiled? Become a Harlot like you?!"
Her footsteps now became rushed ones, as she began to run towards towards the nearing end, the light becoming bigger and bigger as she tried to reach it.
"How dare you! Not even my parents has ever spoken to me like that!"
Right as she neared the end, she saw the glowing light inside the room in the end of the hallway. The light of a television and two figures standing. A sudden crack rang aloud that made the girl flinch. the woman gasped, her hand holding her cheek as the sound of her ragged breaths began to fill in the silence as the man spoke again.
"Do I look like your daddy? I don't care if no body spoke to you that way, you listen to me!"
The small sniffles made by the woman began to grow louder as she fell down to the floor, the hallways disappearing into a dark, hollow void. The young girl's hands shook, as she looked around.
"Mommy?"
She began to pant, her breaths ragged and her heart jumping as she tried to call out other mother.
"Mom!"
The dark void swallowed her screams, as her eyes watered, tears spilling out with pitiful sobs.
"This is your fault."
A monotonous voice called out from behind her, as she turned around, relief filling her confused, terrified heart. She began to run to her, trying to seek the comfort and warmth of her dearest mother.
"Mom-"
"I didn't have to marry him."
The girl's relief began to wash away as she tried to get closer to her mother. Her footsteps getting smaller as her mother continued to speak without looking down at her. Her face darkened with a shadow.
"I didn't have to stay with him.. I-i could've pursued my dreams.. I didn't had to stay in this shitty life.. but-"
Her gaze then sharply snapped down to her, making her breath hitch at the sight of her mother.
Blood running down the side of her forehead, with her left eye pierced by a metal that seemed like a piece of a car door. her mouth and hands all bloody as she suddenly grabbed the small child's shoulders. Her once, warm, motherly face now distorted into a rageful disaster. Making the girl gasp and cry out.
"Mommy? Please-"
"But because of you!- I had to give everything up!"
The little girl sobbed as she tried to look away from the horrific sight of her lovely mother.
"My dreams! My career! My body!... It's all Your fault! your fault.. your fault!-Your fault!-Your fault!-YOUR FAULT-"
A Loud gasp escaped from her as her eyes opened. she stood up, her muscles tightening around her body, her hands running around, feeling the soft fabric of sheet and trying to make sense of her surroundings.
She blinked rapidly, her eyes being wet and her sight being blurry made her panic. as She hurriedly touched around her pillow, taking her glasses as she wore them, placing her hands on her knees as she tried to breath, her mind breaking at the sight of her panicking mess. She took off her glasses, the sweaty skin under her eyes being rubbed off by her hands as she tired to gasp for air.
She tried to take deep breaths, to calm down the fast pumping of her heart. But nothing seems to work out as she got up, her legs shaking and going numb as she tried to reach the room door quietly as possible without waking up the other children.
She hurriedly closed it, walking down towards the entrance as she inhaled and exhaled, her body spasming quietly.
As soon as she got outside, she walked to the very end of the playground, sitting down near a pillar and leaning her head towards it. Hoping that the air outside would help her calm down. Nightmares were an occuring theme to her ever since her parents death.
Her self guilt of knowing that her mother had to take care of her despite not wanting to marry her father was carried by her ever since she could understand the yelling and mutterings of her mother.
She held her hands together, keeping it close to her heart as she felt the beating of her own heart.
"_____?"
Her name was muttered from behind, as she flinched, looking behind as her eyes fell on the short boy, who was wearing a blanket around his head that was falling off as his attention fell on her.
"hey.. wha- what happened? Are you okay?"
She breathed heavily, looking away and giving him the cold shoulder.
"I'm fine!. I'm fine.. j-just leave!"
The boy frowned before taking small steps towards the girl, his movements so slow like he was approaching a wild animal.
She began to hyperventilate, her chest falling up and down.
"hey? _____?!"
Oliver quickly rushed, taking a ahold of her shoulders as she tried to breath through her panic attack.
He immediately realised what was happening as she began to hyperventilate, knowing how it can be caused by panic attacks and such.
"Hey, hey look now, you have to listen to me alright?"
She only lifted her eyes up slightly as he placed his hand on her back, patting her in a sense to comfort her.
"Take a long deep breath, come on.."
He held her hand, and proceeded to make her breath gently as possible, as he proceeded to demonstrate. his hold on her never flattering away.
"Good, good.. now, out.."
He managed to make her follow his exact actions, making the little trembling girl slightly steady as she began to properly breath again. The loud thumping of her heart slowing down in a matter of seconds.
"Try to hold your breath for awhile.. that's right.."
The air became less intense as the children accompanied each other near the cold pillar. _____ inhaled way more slower than before, the shaken feeling fading away as time passed.
Oliver kept his hand on her back, keeping a soothing silence as she calmed herself.
He knew something must've bothered her so much to the point of making her get a panic attack. But he knew better than to not pry into the girl's thoughts and wait until she opens up herself.
The two figures sat down while silently enjoying the calming soft breeze of the playground wind. Even as he averted his gaze, he could see the soft breaths that released from her. The little trembles, and even the smallest movement catches his eyes.
He then gazed out towards the floor as she huddled herself towards the blanket he had placed around her not long ago.
"I had a nightmare."
The boy looked up, seeing the girl looking towards the ground, talking without looking at him. He tilted his head, bringing his knees together as he placed his hand neatly folded above them. Waiting for her to continue.
The girl saw that he didn't pry or ask questions. And she appreciated him silently for that. Even if someone tells you that you can open up to them, telling them what happened instead of keeping it to yourself seems harder.
"I saw my mom. In the day she got in to the accident."
She didn't want to stop, now that she have started to tell him, she wanted to give everything away, even if it's ugly, even if it might seem like it would break her. Because she knew he would be there. He would always be there to hold her through it.
"My parents, they didn't really like eachother that much. And- they would argue all the time."
Her breath stuttered as Oliver leaned his head closer, listening more intently with frowned eyebrows.
"And- and sometimes he would even hit her. And then she would cry.. "
"I- I didn't want her to cry so I tried to make her feel better every time.."
Her voice waveverd as she continued, her head hung low to avoid his face, she didn't want to see him pity her. Or worse, look at her like she was the problem all along.
"But, she just yelled at me. She said it was because of me that she had to stay with dad... That I took away her dreams, and that i shouldn't have been-"
She was startled when she felt a warm touch on top of her shaking hand. She looked down to see him holding her hand so tight that she forgot she was crying.
"It's not true. None of that is true."
His voice was like a soft cord snapping through the wind as he made her look up at him, she didn't saw pity, or disappointment, she only saw a face with so much care left to spend on.
"What she said isn't true. It wasn't your fault. None of it is. She was just sad, and angry at someone else, while taking it out of you."
She could only stare as he continued, she was only eleven. She didn't had anyone to tell anything that happened in her life expect a boy her age. And surprisingly, a boy in her age could understand her better than any adult.
"And even if she did meant them,"
He smiled warmly while keeping his tight hold on her hand.
"None of them matter to me. Because I don't care what anyone says about you."
"Not the children at the Orphanage, not your mother.. no one."
Her breathing stopped as she continued to look at him wordlessly. 'why did he care so much? Why did he trusted her and comforted her? '
"I- I know what it feels like.. having your parents argue and feeling like everything would break at some point.."
He nervously looked away, before pulling his bottom lip, and looked to the ground.
"My parents- the ones who I was taken from, they- they also argued a lot. But, they were so.. so much more violent whenever they argued. They would even hit me sometimes.."
The girl was now taken back, she didn't expect him to open up, or let alone expect that such an innocent, kind boy had gone through something like that. And still managed to be happy and full of life at all times.
"But- then my dad, he came and took me from them.. he teached me, raised me.. I-i never felt so happy with anyone like that before.. not my parents.. My dad showed me that a person can you love you so much that even seeing them make you feel better!"
He smiled so bright that it hurts to watch. It was no question that Oliver loved his father very much. From the day the man took him in to his humble house, the boy never felt any less of a love any kid deserves. It drove him to give Elliot the best results. To show him how much he meant to Oliver.
"How did you- how did you get over it so quickly?"
The girl meekly asked, she didn't want to upset the kid or make him get awful memories, but she wanted to know how to forget hers.
Oliver then looked up, noticing how she wasn't covering her self away like before, feeling more comfortable enough to ask him questions. His smile turned softer at the edges as he kept his hold on her.
"I didn't. I just made new memories of good things and decided to keep the ones that bothered me in the past."
For once, the girl didn't replied or made a remark at the very positive aspects he always proposed.
She simply looked towards the floor. Holding a tight grip on the blanket he had placed.
"I- Thank you ollie-"
"Ooooh.."
Both of their heads snapped back towards the voice of a little girl Their age, wearing her normal clothing and her short brown hair down while she swooned over them from behind.
"uh- who are you? A-and when did you get here?"
"I have been in here for some time now, But you two-"
She suddenly came closer and leaned over to their heads and began to look at both of them with a mischievous smile.
"Were so focused on your little bubble to notice me."
The two flinched and visibly inches away from each other with a stammering of speech. Oliver's hand that was in her's left as he looked away, and for some reason, she wished he kept it as it was.
"N-no! We- we were just-"
"Well no, you see-"
They spoke over each other, as the girl only smirked and sat down beside Oliver who was a stuttering mess.
"Wait- who are you? And I feel like you shouldn't be here, you know.. This late?"
"Well correct me if I'm wrong but aren't we all not supposed to be here? And for your question, I'm penny."
Oliver tilted his head, he have had heard of a similar name like that.
"wait- are you, Miller? I'm sorry I don't remember your first name but, was it really penny?"
"Penelope actually. The short form is penny."
"Ooh.."
"I'm Oliver, and this is _____."
"I know."
"Oh"
"yeah."
They then became very silent, it was a very odd situation while having an awkward tension as they tried to ignore each others presence.
"So, what made you two come out to the playground at midight?"
This made Oliver immediately drive into a short panic as he struggled to give a proper answer.
"No we- we were just enjoying the night sky!"
He tried to put up a convincing act, as girl only kept her face blank.
"But there's no sky above here though."
"Ah! Well- what I meant is that we came to enjoy the night- .. air! Hehe.."
The girl only hummed before leaning towards the opposite and looked up.
"Hm. The atmosphere is very good."
"yeah."
During that whole conversation, _____ just stared as the both tried to be impossibly awkward. Her lips curving a little bit at the two of them trying their best to socialise without socialising.
The night however slowly passed, leaving only the memories of good and bad things all together. And for once, she couldn't remember the memories that haunted her mind as nightmares.
The morning right after was livid. As the events from last night felt like a fever dream. It made _____ stand Infront of the hall room door and reminisce. It was a very weird experience.
"Hey."
She snapped her head towards the presence. And there she was, standing in all her glory.
"Good morning to you too Penny."
The brown haired girl leaned forward, as if she was an inspector and leaned even closer to her. _____ leaned back, her face eyebrows furrowing as the former girl hummed.
"So... How long have you two know each other?"
"Who are you talking about.."
"You know who I am talking about. It's not like you have a whole lot of other friends."
The two girls then stared in silence. Realising how she worded her accusation, penny spoke up.
"Sorry."
"It's fine."
"So...?"
"So?"
"...."
"...."
"You like him don't you."
"WHAT?!"
The nearby children looked over as _____ quickly fixed her posture. Trying to look unfazed as possible.
"What the hell are you talking about?"
The other girl only smirked, looking behind her before averting her gaze with a very proud smile.
"Thanks for answering my question."
"Hey- what? I didn't answer anything!"
"Yeah, you just answered yourself. Anyways, have fun! You boyfriend is coming!"
Penny quickly rushed away as the ___ girl stared in shock, trying to mumble out words, before someone called out to her.
"Hey!"
She looked over, seeing Oliver with a warm smile and a hand full of books he huddled closer.
Hey.."
He grinned softly, staring before his eyes widened, as he instantly went back to ask questions.
"How are you? Are you- are you feeling alright? Any headaches? No nausea or any ouchies-"
"Ollie, I'm fine."
The girl only smiled softly as he quieted down. There it was again. That weird feeling whenever she calls him by his silly little nickname. It wasn't like how other say it. It felt, special.
"Well, then I'm glad. You, really had me worried last night!..."
He laughed nervously, before averting his gaze down. The girl only looked at him fondly, even if she wanted to say a lot of things, she couldn't find a way to tell them. So the least she could do was show him gratitude was with her eyes.
"I think breakfast is going to be served soon. We should get there early to get the corner table.."
Oliver then took her hand and began to rush towards the main hall where all the children had their breakfast, lunch and dinner. _____ let out a soft gasp of laughter as he dragged her through everyone, making him turn around and grin at her, as he continued his little mission. It felt much lighter like this. The life she expected to have felt more comforting when she was with him.
The smell of food flooded their noses as they took their food and sat down. Laughing as they began to eat.
"Hey."
The duo turned their heads towards the voice, seeing the same grumpy boy from yesterday. This time, Oliver straight up glared at him, and held the boy's stare as he got closed to their table.
Micheal stood a step closer to the table, his eyes locked on the ___ girl as he kept this, neutral yet aggravated face while speaking.
"Yesterday, I had to listen to my uncle yell at me and embarrass me Infront of everyone for getting detention. I had to make such bad impression to him because of you."
The girl who was confidently holding her ground slightly waveverd, her eyes widening so little that you could've barely noticed it.
"Because of you.. I got ridiculed. Because of you.. I had to stand outside that pathetic hallway as every kid walked passed me, and mocked me. It should've been you. A Trashy girl like you were the one that should've been out in detention. You have no idea what you've done to yourself Trashy, just wait till i-"
His voice died with a sudden crack as the hall grew quiet. The boy's head titled to the side as his eyes slowly widened. Standing Infront of him was the brunette, with a frown on her voice.
"Can you shut up? You just keep yapping and it's really annoying.."
Penny then sat down on the same table where Oliver and _____ sat. Both of them with their jaw open and eyes wide as the other kids in the hall.
Michael slowly raised his head, his gaze turning towards the girl who is now devouring her food without a care in the world.
'Did- did she just slap me?.. '
The other kids then started slowly filling in the silence. Who on earth decides to wake up and randomly slap the nephew of one of the directors of playtime co?
Penelope Miller of course.
Michael couldn't avert his eyes away from the girl who didn't even spare a glance at him. His mind was only replaying the scene of her slapping him over, and over again.
"Hey look! Penny slapped him so hard to the point of turning his cheek red!"
Laughter ran around the hall as children giggled and pointed at him.
"He face is like a tomato, look!"
The said boy only snapped away from his trance, his cheeks getting even pinker as he stumbled his way out the hall with an embarrassed face.
Oliver watched as Michael ran out, his face confused as to why Michael didn't ran his mouth at penny or try to do something about her embarrassing him.
But his focus was suddenly grabbed by a pleasant sound of complete, childish laughter.
Beside him was the girl who made him feel weird whenever she said his name, the girl who was now into a fit of giggling laughter as she bowed her head down to the table, her hands holding her head as she looked up, grinning with a glowing beam in her eyes that took his breath away.
And in an instant, Oliver could feel the warmth radiating off of her. Literally as he felt his cheeks growing warmer. Not having a very different look from the boy who just left.
"Did you see the way he ran? He was about to fall into the cleaner on the way out..."
She laughed as he smiled softly, seeing her all crumpled and trembling yesterday made him more upset than failing test. And that meant a lot to him.
The girl then looked at penny, who wasn't even bothered.
"You're very funny penny, do you want to be our friend?"
Seeing her with a new refound confidence, by asking penny to be friends with them, Oliver smiled even brighter. And looked at penny as well.
"Yeah! You can hangout with us! If you want to, I mean.."
Penny simply looked up and grinned sheepishly.
"Hell yeah."
They laughed again as the hall began to fill and get loud with the voices of children laughing, yelling and enjoying themselves with their friends.
And above the glass window of a separate section from the orphanage, sat a man, holding a cigarette in his hand and watching the children run around and play.
He then took out a picture from his pocket, it was a beautiful young girl with red ginger hair, her smile so bright yet faded with time. He tilted his head, looking into the picture as if he is wishing to bring it to life.
"My dear daughter, I'm sorry for not being there with you when you needed me..."
He then stared down towards the file of documents on his desk, with a letter titled 'Expirement Consultation of Rats.'
"Soon, you and I can be together like we were before."
"And I, as your father, would do Anything, for it."
Andddd I've finished the second chapter! Honestly I feel embarrassed like wdym I took more than two weeks to upload a small ass chapter. No but like I was so busy that I felt like I was gonna explode this week. Oof. Anyways, I was thinking of an oc when I first wrote this fic. Should I keep it as a X reader or make it an oc? Let me know! As always, thank you for reading!
