The completed custom Britney outfit✨

For the fishnets I decided to use a light weight semi stretch tulle. I originally was thinking about using a micro mesh fabric which is super stretchy and easier to work with, but the mesh size was too thick were the fishnet pattern looked to big and distorted for a 12” doll. The tulle was the perfect weight and size to recreate the perfect fishnet stockings look. I also used a 3mm black elastic for the waist band. The rhinestones are stone size 3 and they are the smallest on the market.

Close ups of the finished product. The mic set was made using flat and rounded wire. The microphone was made out of mesh fabric wrapped around a 3mm rhinestone. After that I applied black glitter to give it that stage affect.

Working on the hair right now. First I washed the doll’s hair to get out any dirt or previous hair gel. The bari was. A little dry and brittle so I soaked the hair in warm water with fabric softener to help smooth out and soften the hair. After that I braided the whole head and soaked it in hot water to make the waves permanent.

Just finished the doll’s outfit. Here is a sneak peak for tomorrow. Next, hair and makeup!💇🏼‍♀️💄

Now I am just hot fixing the black top layer onto the white under layer so they don’t move around. I am doing this by placing the fabric adhesive onto the fabric and conjoining them using the heat from the iron. Next up with be the shoulder straps, attaching the side straps, and glitter!🤣💕

I got all of the pieces sewed together. Right now I am hemming the white body suit with a hem tape so the outside will be seam less and have no stitches visible, then the glitter will be applied.

This is the cut out pattern of both layers of the body suit. The bottom one will have glitter on it. Can’t wait🤣

Getting started on the upper half of the outfit. A while back ago I found this vintage chunky glitter at an estate sale, I thought it would be perfect to emulate for the glitter parts. I tested some fabric mod podge glue out on some stretch chiffon fabric that I will be using and it worked out nicely! The necklace is hand made and molded out of translucent polymer clay. I added a rhinestone and some translucent glitter to give it more of a crystal shine.

Recently got back to work on my poison ivy doll. Her hair is completely rerooted now! The leaves and mask are not completely put on yet, they are just a test run. As for the bodice, it is almost done I just need to put in the zipper closure for the back and hem the edges!

The finished product of rerooted Poision ivy! I have to glue it the hair and boil bath the water to tame it down. So much fun rerooting!

I just received the poison ivy doll hair that I ordered from the Etsy shop CustomDollHairAU! I got the ruby red, and the carrot orange and strawberry red for the highlights. This is my first time rerooting and so far the hardest part was taking out the original hair the doll had. I guess Barbie Basics have a lot of glue inside the head so when I pulled out the center part it ripped the seam but luckily I was able to glue it back together. The hair i ordered is super soft and silky, the length is perfect for the half fold method running about 18” long. The shop is located in Australia and took about 10 days to arrive in the US but was definitely worth the wait. The seller is really nice, she has great prices and products. If you guys are looking to reroot your dolls I would recommend this shop, I will leave the link above check it out 💕

So my next doll project will be Uma Thurman’s poison ivy from the 1998 Batman movie. Uma is the perfect depiction of what poison ivy would be like so I will be basing the doll’s look on her. For the doll I chose the Barbie Basics model 09 collection 01. Her sculpt closely resembled uma although I will be repainting her eyes green and rerooting her hair red. I also found this mini ivy shape paper puncher. The size is perfect for the ivy leaves on a doll. I used real leaves by preserving them in a glycerin water bath mixed with green dye to help keep their color and flexibility.
