We were in the early ‘80s and Rome, coming out from the ‘70s, was living a time frame of big artistic ferment. I was in college and hang out the so called “tridente” (the artists neighbourhood) between Bar Canova, Caffè Greco, Rosati, you could meet the most particular and creative personalities, from Fellini and Schifano to the most poverty striken and unknown. Via Margutta was still the street where the artists were creating. Models, art dealers, lovers , pusher and art galleries owners coming and going. You could breathe that unforgettable sparkling air of the entusiasm, the passion and the expectations. In That enviroment I formed my vision of style and gusto for art, fashion and interior design. I went often to fashion and art ateliers, get to know unconventional and non-academic artist, some of them became famous, their works are on display at the modern art museum. Since then, art and fashion became an integral part of my life, one does not exclude the other. In fashion I’ve always had a personal style, and never follow the dictates of marketing because the “must have” fashion is anything that goes out of fashion. Fashion instead is communication, creativity, contamination. As well as art indicates the state of health of a nation. Unfortunately our rulers did not percieveit.
