Boris clones gathered in a herd, living together and helping each other survive.

Boris are mute, so they communicate through body language, writing, and even sign language and Morse code. Although not everyone can use it, it can be a significant language barrier for them. Their leader is Boris, later known as Ink Wolf in the comics. He is an anomaly that retains a human larynx and the ability to speak (Very attractive as prey for Alice clones who at the time hunt good quality cartoon wolves for food or for their own motives)

Many have survived the angels' clutches, but that doesn't mean they're safe. After all these years, they've continued to fight for the freedom and survival of their race. It turns out that the Ink Demon wasn't the only danger in this hell.
