Anne looked up at Kylo. She had been crouched to work on a small med droid when he had approached. Standing, she looked up at his black helmet. It was still strange to look at and try to meet his eye.

His reply was quiet, almost unheard, as he watched her work in silence then. His whole body remained stiff during the procedure and the application of the splint, but he didn't complain. Not even about the fact that he couldn't put his gloves back on to hide the injury. A part of him couldn't care less.

He'd left the infirmary shortly after, his mind already settled on work instead of the past happenings to keep himself occupied. He felt like he'd shatter if he stopped walking. The injury made him feel angrier. He couldn't afford to be seen weak, so he hid in his quarters.

Then the painkiller left his system and he realised two things.

Those delicate bones that had been shattered started to heal indeed, but he neglected to mention he also had broken some ribs.

And secondly... he couldn't take his helmet off.

With using only one hand, he searched Anne in the database and typed her a message.

But he ended up not telling her any of it.

"Training." He didn't even process if she was really asking a question about what happened. He still was in that vulnerable state when his own distorted voice sounded even more weird and his body felt like it wasn't his. "I came as fast as my schedule allowed me."

"What kind of training were you doing?" She asked, half to him and half to herself. He was fairly secretive about that aspect and she didn't want to pry. She wanted him to trust her so when he did need help he would know she'd be there.

Knowing he had to be in pain, she was gentle as she administered medication.

He was glad he still had the helmet on because he was grimacing and sweating from the immense pain. His posture was stiff which could've been misinterpreted as anger, but Kylo Ren was far from angry now. He was, very heavily, beaten down.
