I like to think the whole concept of HatefulHero other than AntagonistxProtagonist or (technically) selfcest is that this is just a way for Player to cope with everything.

• With the other emotions now gone, and Hatred being the only dominant emotion (though tamed, for now) in Player's system, it sort of acts as an anchor and as well as fuel for determination.

• Hatred isn't JUST hate. It also bears resentment, rage, malice, maybe envy, and other words synonymous to hate. It also carries the emotional weight of Player's specific memories, shouldering them. Like it cares for them, in a way.

• Because of this, it can act like a double-edged sword. How? Hatred is able to actually warn or inform Player depending on the situation (heightened awareness // knowledge and previous experiences), give Player extreme determination (especially with what happened in demo 4 and 5, and maybe future demos soon), high pain tolerance or emotional endurance due to the purification, sharp focus, etc.

• HOWEVERRRRR, it can also harm Player. They may have advantages because of Hatred, but they will also have disadvantages. Such as possible apathy and lack of empathy, emotional burnout, etc. With Hatred's constant or lingering presence, it'll severely affect Player's coping mechanisms and maybe even make them worse.
