Time is really flying fast, it was just like yesterday, i was pushing her around the hospital on a wheelchair, post surgery, and how our discussion was always about growth, dreams and life itself. I remember telling her all my dreams and aspirations, and how i wanted her to be there and witness all of it when it happens.
Hajia was always encouraging and assuring me that life will always be good to me as long as i keep pushing and striving hard, and that i should make the best of everything and to always face my problems head on.
She was a proud woman who believed that there was no obstacle that couldn’t be overcome. I am not there yet, but i am closer than i was yesterday.
Hajia was a vibrant soul, one who literally lit up the room whenever she entered, she had a wonderful sense of humor, coupled with her glow and smile. Her generosity with her time, her energy, her advice, and in so many other ways provided invaluable support to so many people, and that alone endeared her the love and admiration of all those she came in contact with; and it is a great testament to her nature that she formed so many long lasting friendships during her time in this world, some of which we’re still benefiting from.
Everybody thinks they have a great mom, but as her own, we KNEW we had a great mom because everyone else told us so. She mothered us and all our friends who came into the house, even those with perfectly good mothers of their own.
My lasting memories of Hajia are simple: a hard-working, passionate figure of strength who never waned in her support or love of her family, and who soldiered on even when times were tough. There was a lot of love in her life, even though she is not here now I know that her legacy will live on in all of us. She was an incredible Mother. May her departed soul rest in PEACE.
