Hi everyone! Just call me Aether! I'll be your writer and host of this blog. I hope you can enjoy your time here and the content I produce as well as reblog.

A few ground rules for your time here: 1. No hateful comments allowed. This includes, but is not limited to, homophobia, racism, ableism, or general bigotry of any kind.

2. If you do not like something that I have posted for one reason or another, please just move on. It's not worth the energy you will enevitably expend trying to prove whatever point you may have.

3. This blog is multi-ship which means that I do not stick to one set pair. You are welcome to drop requests for ships and prompts too for things you'd like to see on the blog! 4. All are welcome here! That being said, I do not want to see discourse or fighting in the reblogs or replies of my posts. Any fighting will be met with a block to the responsible parties. This blog is meant to be a fun and safe space for all.

Warnings: None Prompt: Kaeya awakens from a vivid nightmare pertaining to the events leading up to his receiving of his vision

It was dark, cold, silent. The rain was the only thing he could discern in the vast void of this memory. Then it started again, he was still but a child as he witnessed the last few moments between father and son that was his brother putting their father out of his brutal misery. Tears welled in his eyes as found himself standing in front of his brother once more, the rain soaking them both through and the blood of their father on Diluc’s clothes. He felt the lump in his throat rising once more as he was faced with telling his brother the truth for the umpteenth time in this hellscape that was his own mind.

The clashing of their blades, the searing pain in his right eye, the burst of Cryo energy that surged from the tip of his sword. It was all happening again so fast. The next thing he knew was he saw Diluc walking away, growing distant from him. Kaeya fought against an unseen force to reach out for his brother, wanting to say so many things but unable to make a single sound. He felt like he was drowning, being pulled deeper and deeper into the abyss, into the cold and unfeeling void.

Kaeya gasped as he opened his eyes, his body drenched in sweat and his lover no longer sleeping in the bed next to him. Albedo was wide awake and holding Kaeya’s hand in his own as concern creased his features. “My love, was it another night terror?” he asked gently, frowning when Kaeya’s eyes filled with tears. Albedo sat up so he could prop himself against the pillows as he pulled Kaeya closer, bringing the captain’s head to rest on his chest. “It’s alright my love, it’s okay.. it was just some bad memories, what matters is that you’re here with me, that you’re safe in my arms..” 

Kaeya held onto the alchemist, sobbing silently into his shoulder, the motion causing his body to tremble. He whimpered gently as he spoke through his tears. “It felt so real.. it felt like I was there again, just a scared little kid..” Kaeya felt Albedo’s hand in his hair as he brushed through it a few times as a gesture of comfort. “I know it does, Kaeya. You are not in any danger here with me, you are my sweet loving captain. You are not that scared little boy any more.” Albedo placed a few gentle kisses to Kaeya’s tear stained face. Kaeya eventually managed to get his breathing under control again, sighing softly as he held onto his lover. “Albedo, I’m sorry for always waking you with my nightmares..” Albedo gently shushed Kaeya, kissing his forehead. “Nonsense my sweet songbird.. it’s important to me that you feel safe and comforted in your times of utter distress.. I wouldn’t make for a very good boyfriend if I didn’t care now would I?” Kaeya gave a soft chuckle and he nodded. “Yeah, you’re right..” Albedo soothed Kaeya until the captain was starting to drift off again.
