Reason #19: You don't have to be dying to be held

There is something deeply painful and beautiful about this being the self titeled album. That this is what followed The Great Depression and I Went to Hell and Back. That after the albums and times that broke the band apart as people and as a group, we get the album that dares to ask, What if we get through this?

No but what if one of your favorite bands of all time came back in its full lineup after years and years of slowly disbanding. What if after two albums centered heavily around severe depression and wanting to die they dropped an album about hope and healing and love. After all these years in the darkness what if the singer suddenly wrote lyrics about no longer wanting to die. About finding peace and wisdom even when it's hard, about love for the people around you and your friends and your partner and the random people who gave you kindness when you needed it most. What if after all these years of writing about wanting it all to end, they wrote about wanting to go on. WHAT WOULD YOU DO THEN, HUH!

Conservative beauty standards are back with a vengeance which means it's especially important to go out this summer with bellies out and bodies unshaved. Also be unapologetically disabled with mobility aids and wearable medical devices and stim toys and ear defenders and all that stuff. You need it. People need to see it. Everyone needs to be reminded that life is unquestioningly more enjoyable when you're not living inside an arbitrary set of rules created by people who are offended by all the wrong things.

Actually I DO think twelve year olds should get hrt. That’s the normal age to start puberty, so why does it have to be different for trans kids?

If you think trans kids don’t deserve the right to a timely and correct puberty – the same way cis kids already get – you are transphobic.

Every night at eleven I have to choose between enjoying the sweet embrace of slumber or staying up late to do something enriching and fun that I wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity to do. And every night at eleven I take the secret third option of “doing nothing on my phone until one in the morning.”
