 Schedule includes 14 cities, starting November 2nd, 2012, to raise awareness and donate instruments to veteransâ music therapy programs
BALTIMORE - (September 13, 2012) â Music 4 Vets is proud to announce a fall fundraising tour featuring Truth & Salvage Co., with special guest Tim Brantley, sponsored by Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka. Music 4 Vets, a unique charity project that supports music therapy and programs for veterans across the country, is the latest initiative of Music 4 More, a Baltimore, MD based 501(c)3 charity founded by Deidra Stevens. The organization is dedicated to bringing joy and healing from playing music to people in hospitals, physical rehab centers, schools and other community facilities by providing new and used instruments to sustain these programs.
 Nashvilleâs Truth & Salvage Co will bring its original, southern-influenced, acoustic, twang, harmonic jam sound to 14 cities this fall to support veterans. In just a few years, the band has developed a devoted, loyal following. Rolling Stone gave their debut album 3. 5 stars and the band has  toured with mentor Chris Robinson and the Black Crowes and also appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Truth & Salvage Co. has also played for U.S. troops in Iraq and Kuwait.
 Founder and president Deidra Stevens said,  âWe are thrilled to announce this âconcertedâ program and we couldnât be more excited about our headliner, Truth & Salvage Co. Music has been found to have a profound effect on helping individuals suffering from pain, stress, illness and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. It can boost confidence, create a sense of control, and release endorphins. This fall, weâll share the power of music with our veterans. â Since Music 4 Moreâs 2009 launch, the nonprofit group has purchased/recycled over 250 instruments for local organizations between Florida and Connecticut.
 Music 4 Vets is also partnering with the Veterans Artist Program www.veteranartistprogram.org which fosters, encourages and promotes artists who are also veterans through networking, collaborations, mentorship and original productions. VAP will film the entire tour to create a documentary about the program and to illustrate the healing benefits of music.
 A portion of the tour proceeds will go directly to Music 4 Vets and patrons can bring new or used instruments to each venue to be refurbished and distributed to programs in need. The tour received a grant from The Rex Foundation, to fund the purchase of some the instruments to be donated throughout the tour. The Rex Foundation was created by The Grateful Dead and their fans to support charitable giving.
 The tourâs lead sponsor is Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka, distilled on Wadmalaw Island, SC. The company will provide the âFirefly RVâ for the band throughout the tour and host parties  & promotions at the music clubs where the concerts will be held. Firefly was founded by Charleston-native Scott Newitt who said âFirefly is proud to underwrite the Music 4 Vets fundraising tour. I worked my way through college as a drummer and I play in a band now. As a musician, I experience first-hand the happiness and excitement of performing and enjoying live music.â  In addition to the distillery in South Carolina, Scott founded Firefly Records, a state-of-the-art music studio in McClellenville. It is a creative sanctuary that is available for Fireflyâs music partners and artists. Scott adds, âI love the Music 4 Vets mission and the talent of Truth & Salvage Co. With Firefly, I feel we have a winning combination of passion, groove and resources to showcase exceptional live music and raise big money for veterans.â Â
 The tour will kick-off on Friday, November 2nd in New Orleans, LA at Tipitina's, followed quickly by stops in cities along the east coast and in a few Mid-Atlantic States, culminating at 12th & Porter in Music City, Nashville, on November 20th. The series will also include media opportunities along with visits to VA hospitals and other veteransâ programs. The schedule includes:

A Georgia boy who grew up in Loganville, near Decatur, Tim played piano as a child, but didnât get serious about music until he began composing songs and performing at local coffee shops and bars in his early 20s. Friends were so impressed with what they heard that they chipped in to help Tim buy a microphone and mixing console so he could begin recording in earnest.
 The warmth and timelessness of Timâs own songs resonated with listeners, and pretty soon he was playing bigger shows for bigger audiences in and around Atlanta.
