I just saw a video title on YouTube that said something like “Why is glass transparent?” And that’s an interesting question and I’m sure it’s great that the video exists but my first thought was like “Because glass is terrible, obviously.” Because it’s unwieldy and let’s out warmth and needs to be heated to hundreds of degrees to be shaped and turns into hundreds of tiny daggers if you drop it. Why the hell would we bother with that if it didn’t have some magical quality like being totally transparent despite being solid? Glass is transparent because if it weren’t, we’d use something else.

just as a reminder to all, the real Quileute tribe was not consulted whatsoever on the twilight series and had a lot of their culture just fully lied about & made up, which is not a remotely harmless act. you should donate to fund their cultural preservation and moving of vital centers out of tsunami zones! i try to throw in a few bucks any time i watch any twilight related media.

I’m simply tired of people’s unwillingness to hold more than one thought in their heads at a time. Trump being an asshole to Italy’s PM doesn’t mean she, herself, isn’t a huge right-wing asshole. Trump launching an illegal war against Iran doesn’t mean its government isn’t an oppressive theocracy that has brutalized women, murdered its own people, and funded terrorist groups like Hezbollah and Hamas to oppress and kill other groups of people in the Middle East. The Israeli government being really terrible doesn’t mean Hezbollah and Hamas aren’t terrorist groups and that terrorism isn’t bad. You really don’t have to repost le epic memes supporting any of these people or entities. I would say that the average user on here has the mind of a child, but that’s an insult to children.
