“Them Boomers”—I’m making a play on the phrase “Them Bums” (which refers to the Brooklyn Dodgers and their fans)—in my neighborhood might have gone from McKinley Intermediate School in Brooklyn to living on Center Street in a suburb of this nature. (I’ll get to discussing how streets get named in New York City later.)

An important part of this theme is the development of the art forms in the period of home renovation in my local coinciding with the period in television that saw the beginning and subsequent explosion of TV shows about home renovation and decor. My location is New York City and its surrounding suburbs.

I’m pointing out at the internet to write this. It is part present-day—but for the sake of work that was established in 2007-8. This is the work I’m primarily concerned with to lay a groundwork here—to explain where all this other work builds from. I didn’t write down these lengths of thoughts and realizations and revelations then; I’m taking on the task of establishing this now.
