it's not the rape game. you are horribly watering down the game's message if you think it's only about rape. yes there is a lot of symbolism related to rape but that is because it takes place in jimmy's mind as he is trying to process guilt.

yes! if jimmy was truly as awful and remorseless as people make him out to be, there would be no guilt and thus no game at all. the whole game is him trying to process the guilt of his own actions and, utterly failing at fixing things (while at the same time having deluded himself into believing he is fixing things)

people tend to focus on anya a lot due to her status as a victim, but it’s important to realize that EVERYONE in the crew was a victim in one way or another. yes, even big bad jimmy. a lot of the focus on anya also seems so performative. i genuinely saw a post one time that was confidently announcing that anya was actually the main character and focus of the story; i don’t even know how to express how incorrect that is. people put her on a pedestal and treat her as a perfect human being who should be worshipped instead of, you know, a human being who is flawed just like the rest of the crew.

it’s okay to say jimmy is the main character because he is. he is the protagonist because the story is from his point of view and told mainly by him, that is what a protagonist is. protagonists are allowed to suck.
