I’m moving this blog from Tumblr to Wordpress. Big thanks to anyone who has liked or shared anything that I’ve been posting on here. I’ll keep everything on Tumblr as it is but there won’t be any more updates.

‘Rayvn Lanae - Free Room’

- Oh hey there! Yes, it has been a while since I last blogged about any tunes. Truth be told I’ve not been keeping up on things. Other projects have been taking up my time. That was until this little doozy cropped up on a random Spotify ramble.

‘Free Room’ actually dates back to 2016 but for me it’s a new find and it’s the first thing I’ve heard in a while that made me want to get it on the blog ASAP.

‘Deadmau5 - Legendary (feat. Shotty Horroh)’

- At last! It looks like Tumblr may have finally fixed their mobile app! I can post songs again! I’ve been sat on this hip hop jam by Deadmau5 since I think before the summer. It’s good stuff, looking forward to hearing what else he’s got lined up.

'Oliver - Heart Attack feat. De La Soul'

- The bouncy electronic funk going on here is irresistible. Oliver are an L.A. based duo who have drafted in De La Soul for this killer track. Look out for their debut album 'Full Circle' at the end of August.

‘Andrew James - Mary (Demo)’

 - I bookmarked this little beauty months ago but thanks to the less than stellar tumblr app I haven’t been able to post it. ‘Mary’ is a beautiful track performed here as a demo by Andrew James.

‘Tora - Another Case (Radio Edit)’

 - I hope you’ve got some good speakers for this one. You’re gonna need them for that sublime bass wobble. Tora hail from Australia (that now makes three posts in row starring Australian talent) and have released a new album called ‘Take A Rest’. ‘Another Case’ is an intricately crafted electronic track that refuses to sit in a pigeonhole. 

‘Sensible J feat REMI & Sampa The Great - Fire Sign’

 - Australian based hip hop producer Sensible J drops the fire with his first official release. Two of hip hops rising stars, Remi and Sampa The Great join the fray to deliver a killer hip hop cut with a soulful edge.

‘The Ninjas - Morphine’

 - The Ninjas are a four-piece band hailing from Australia. ‘Morphine’ is a blissed out indie track that despite being released a year ago appears to be constantly building a steady stream of hype and new fans. You can count me among them. 

‘Jordan Alexander - Take Me Out Tonight’

 - From what I can tell, this wonderfully upbeat pop song has not yet taken hold of the charts here in the UK which is somewhat criminal. ‘Take Me Out Tonight’ is an instant ear-worm of a pop track that whilst uplifting also skillfully avoids tripping headlong into a schmaltzy cheese-fest. Love it!

‘The Underachievers - Saint Paul (feat. Mello)’

 - The Underachievers are a new find for me yet they have been hard at it since 2011. ‘Saint Paul’ is a timeless hip hop track which strongly suggests that I need to dive into their back catalogue on Spotify.  

‘Sigrid - Don’t Kill My Vibe’

 - I’m a few months behind on this one. There has been a groundswell of hype surrounding Sigrid for the last few months but it’s only recently that she has appeared under my radar. ‘Don’t Kill My Vibe’ is the kind of pop song that gets under your skin in no time at all. 

‘Flapo - Ghost feat. Layna’

 - This one has been sat in my ‘bookmarks’ folder for a while (thanks to the ongoing Tumblr app issues). At last this post is now online for you to check out.

‘Joy Crookes - Bad Feeling’ 

 - Aww yeah, this tune starts off superbly with a lovely funky shuffle and it doesn’t let up until it’s all over. Joy Crookes is an 18 year old singer/songwriter from South London. Bad Feeling is in her own words ‘The Beginning’ of what’s to come. Bring it on! 

'Beastie Boys - Get It Together (feat. Q-Tip)

- It hit me today that it has been five years since we lost Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys. With that in mind let's stick some Beasties on the blog as a nod of respect. R.I.P. Adam.

‘Panama - Hope For Something’

 - Since starting this blog the one overriding rule that I have found is that Sydney is a constant source for belting synth pop. Another example is this excellent summery track from Panama. 

‘Close Counters - Just Friends ft. James Berkeley’

 - Oh man this is so good! Close Counters are a duo hailing from Tasmania, here they have bought UK vocalist James Berkeley on board for a cover of Musiq Soulchild’s ‘Just Friends’. The results are a bonafide sonic treat. Be sure to hit the Soundcloud link to grab a free download.
