Mitt bidrag till utställningen #penstoretalents av @penstore. Beskrivning av verket: För mig är min lyckliga plats en värld där människor kan leva i harmoni med varandra, där alla människor normaliseras och där diskriminering på grund av olikheter inte existerar. I verket som jag har skapat syns en svart man som ror en båt i stilla vatten, och jag valde detta motiv för att uttrycka vikten av mångfald och intersektionalitet. Vatten symboliserar liv och är livets källa, ett element som knyter oss till varje organism på denna planet och en viktig del av all existens i denna värld. De stora fiskarna som simmar i vattnet lever i harmoni med varandra och med människan som ror sin båt över dem. Detta för att sammanlänka människa, djur och natur som en del av en större helhet. This illustration was brought to life from a horrible incident that shook my city and it’s citizen to it’s core. I drew it to pay tribute to the city that I call my home and the people who were affected by this attack. Made on the ‎7th april 2017.

2018 has been an incredible year for me productively. I didn’t top the amount of illustrations that I drew in 2017, but this year I’m more happy with the quality of  the illustrations that I made. I also got the opportunity to work with bigger companies such as the swedish Riksteatern. I had magazines such as PAPER, Afropunk, Mvslim and VICE mention my work in their articles. I got to participate in group exhibitions such as HAVET in Konstfack, Stockholm SWE and Soomaal Houses yearly exhibition in Minneapolis, MN. I hope that next year will be even better than this year was and that I’ll more artwork to showcase to the world.

I have been honored to commission and reillustrate one of my own illustrations for a production by @riksteatern, Sweden's largest theatre and owner of the national scene. This has been a project I have been working on for the past month and it has been incredibly rewarding. The show will tour the whole country with Riksteatern spring 2020! 

This illustration is one of my latest pieces. I have always wanted to make a children’s book full of colourful and vibrant illustrations, which is something that I in this piece was aspiring to showcase. It’s illustrating a man in a boat sailing over a sea full of big and beautiful whales seen from above.
