Dark Meta Knight paused for a few seconds as he turned around to face Logan. Normally there wasnât a lot that would cause the knight to suddenly stop in his tracks out of confusion but the way the boy was talking⌠intrigued him for some reason.
The way he talked about the warping of space time and the existence of something called the rift was rather puzzling to him to say the least. He had heard of the existence of a place called Another Dimension and since he too was from a different plain of existence he didnât doubt the whole concept of dimensional travel.
But the fact Logan had the ability to warp the fabric of space-time all by himself? That was the confusing part. He only knew of a select few individuals who had such an ability, one of those being his old master Dark Mind and the infamous Galacta Knight.
âYou speak of this rift as if you open it on a regular.â Dark Meta Knight said slowly as he began sizing up Logan only slightly. He didnât intend on fighting the sage but he wanted to make sure that Logan wasnât bluffing or telling any tall tales. The human sure didnât look like someone who was capable of opening up portals on the regular.
âAnd you say you have the ability to warp space-time⌠just⌠what are you? Are you a Halcandran?â
I have no idea what a Halcandran is. I am simply a human, who got dragged from his home world by chance and has been wandering the Intedimensional Rift for 12 years, visited other worlds and dimensions that exist out there. Once you been in it for that long, you become as very much apart of it.
It took a bit of time, but once you get the feel of how the fabric of space-time works, then being able to open a way to the place is easy. Then again, where I am from using Black Magic that manipulates time and space is a given. Like the spell I used on myself, Hastaga, speeds up the actions one can do in battle, but outside of it I commonly used it to increase my movement speed for a limited time, before I need to cast it again.
I been practicing the art of White and Black Magic since I was a child, considering how dangerous my world was at the time with monsters being the majority of the wildlife across the planet. Father trained me with a sword while mother trained me in healing and defensive magic, though learning to use elemental spells in Black Magic was something I had to learn the hard way.
It is what we call a Red Mage, who are jack-of-all-trades but a master at none. Skilled in swordplay and capable of using both Black and White Magic to a degree. Training further you can be known as a Red Wizard, which are more skilled in magic but still arenât masters like that of a Devout or Magus.
Training beyond that though, one can become a Sage, who are masters in all fields of magic; White, Black, even summoning powerful creatures known as Eidolons to aid in battle, but they are more focused with magic that they no longer use physical attack as a means for battle.
That is where I split and became a Crimson Sage, which is similar, but I am mastered in sword and magic. Though I am still trying to understand summoning magic since only two people in my world are actual Summoners that can use it since it is in their blood, but with proper training and knowledge anyone could potentially be able to use summons.
Anyway, the point is I am not from this universe, but from another one entirely. Youâd be surprised at the places you can end up if you are a Rift Traveler like me. It is something I can just do, but it disappointing when something can interfere with that sort of magic and not let me open a means for leaving easily.
So, this is why we need to figure out what the source of this powerful energy is coming from if we have any hope for you to return to your own realm and me being able to return to the Rift.
âHm, I will keep that in mind for later. Thank you for answering my questions.â Dark Meta Knight said with a slot nod of his head before his eyes flashed purple for only a few brief seconds. In the midst of the entire conversation he had almost allowed Logan and himself to fall victim to an enemies preemptive strike!
The knight quickly unsheathed his blade and spun around, his sword gripped firmly in his hands as he delivered a powerful spiral slice to his opponent. Though his attack wasnât powerful enough to knock the enemy down right away it was enough to create some distance between the two heroes and the opponent that stood before them.
Sporting a much darker and obsidian looking color scheme appeared to be a giant beetle that was all too native to dreamland and the surrounding planets. Itâs jaws were overly exaggerated at its pupils were blood red. The wings of the beast would occasionally buzz every few seconds in an attempt to intimidate its chosen prey:
Enter Bugzy! The suplex mini boss!
âHrm. Of all the enemies to face upon our arrival I was hoping this wouldnât be one of them.â Dark Meta Knight growled to himself as he got into a defensive position and shot a glance over to Logan.
He wasnât sure about the sage but the masked warrior was ready to counter at a moments notice, he just hoped that Logan would be able to provide a sufficient amount of backup for this battle.
âTell me boy, you know how to fight right? Do you know any long ranged spells? That would be beneficial right now.â
He was surprised when the two of them were nearly taken by a preemptive strike from Bugzy. Logan was just as swift to unsheath his blade as well. Being the first time the young sage has seen the enemy, he didnât know what to expect.
Being asked if there was a way to attack from a distance using spells, he just smirked.Â
Oh sure. A good number. I dunno how much of an effect my spells would have on these guys, but either way they are going to feel something.
Wait for when he is caught off guard from this, and then strike.
Pulling out the Mace of Zeus, a powerful rod created by an ancient mage in the past back in his world, it didnât take long before a green aura surrounds Logan before shouting out the spell.
He then strikes the ground on the butt end of the staff, causing the very earth around them to shake violently. Before Bugzy knew it, spires of rock and earth erupted beneath him end up knocking the insect enemy straight into the air, before being bounced around by several more spires like a ragdoll.
When he thought it was done, a large rocky spire just shoots out and strikes Bugzy in the back, sending him up into the air. He then looks toward Dark Meta, still clutching the rod.
There is your window to strike, take it!
