They feel oddly nervous despite the fact that Jackie made it seem like no big deal. However, Amanita hadn't been invited to any kind of party that wasn't work related in almost seven years. And it was nice to be included, especially after dropping off the face of the earth for weeks on end.

Irrational fears

“Amanita it’s just a rabbit, you can’t honestly tell me you’re afraid of this wittle face.” Scarlett booped her nose with the creature’s then held the small black rabbit towards them.

“Keep that monster away from me,” Amanita backed away slowly, holding out their arms, “That thing is a killing machine. Have you ever seen what they can do to a garden?”

Scarlett rolled her eyes, but pulled the furball away, “No, but I think you’re being ridiculous! You own a skunk, they are basically the same thing.”

Cannibalism

Amanita was drunk? At least the closest a creature like them could be to the term. They were at a small gathering at The Don’s home and she had been nice enough to procure a fermenting pumpkin for them. 

Their head felt sluggish, but the grin had not left their face all night. That is until someone handed them a dish that appeared to be a burger. As soon as they started to decompose it, they realized it wasn’t meat.

Amanita pulled a cloak around them, hoping the green shade would help them blend into the foliage. Eros said they couldn’t get the jump on them, but Amanita had a plan.

“Hey Amanita, you came to join me?” Eros called from the shore.

Someone or something they must pretend to like

“Oh yes. She is beautiful,” Amanita strained through the lie. 

Their most recent service had ended and the deceased’s family was following their tradition of celebration; baby pass. They believed their dead came back as babies, and so whoever had had a child the latest got the honor. The chubby cheeked bundle had finished making its rounds when the mother brought her to Amanita for inspection.
