The event has been coordinated by the archi depot foundation, an organization established to conserve the scale models and designs of japanese architectural culture. the primary objective of the foundation is to preserve and present the scale models that still play an important role in the transmission of the architects’ visions to the general public.

These unsettling, expressionless masks were actually a fashion staple for wealthy women in Elizabethan England (c. mid to late 1500s). They were called visards, and were used by women of status to protect their fair skin from the sun, given that tanned, browned skin was seen as a sign of poverty (women with sun-tanned skin were usually poor laborers). Today, however, one can perceive from these artifacts only a bizarre, nightmarish appearance.

When Allen Parton was hit by a car, his service dog Endal dragged him into the recovery position, found his cell phone and pushed it into his hand, fetched him a blanket from under his wheelchair, then ran to a nearby hotel and barked at the door until someone helped. Source
