The Pokemon trilled happily upon the attention gotten from the mug, leaping on the boy, happily meowing as they rubbed against him, clearly enjoying the pets they were getting.

“Okay, well. Despite their best attempts, they haven’t completely ruined the surprise yet. You have three guesses as to what it is Mugs.”

The cup smirked, watching the two. Clearly, the Delcatty knew the plans already. He only caught the cat to give to Mugman.

[☕] The mug smiled as he continued to pet the cat Pokemon. The feline seemed to be enjoying the attention he was giving them. A small yelp left the child as the Delcatty leaped onto him, before he chuckled as he was nuzzled by the Normal-type. It was way too cute for him to handle.

“Of course I know what it is! It’s a Delcatty. A well-kept one too. The fur is so shiny and soft... Do they have a name yet?”

[☕] Mugman turned to Cuphead when he heard the cup call his name. He was curious, tilting his head to one side admittedly adorably. What could he want? Someone wanted to meet him? Who could it--

A gasp of surprise left the twelve-year-old as he spotted the Normal-type cat standing. His eyes lit up in childish joy as he ran over to the feline and began petting it happily.

“Aww, Cup! Did you do this?”

“I mean, if you’re sure? I can chip in a little. Really Azure, it’s fine. I had everything backed up just in case anything ever happened to it, so I’m not losing anything too important.”

He walked over to his double, pulling him into a hug, trying to calm him down, simply assuming the crash of it falling and breaking scared him.

“It’s okay. I’m not upset, I promise. It’s an innocent mistake.”

[☕] Azure sniffed as he wrapped his arms around the other mug, accepting the hug and returning it. Mug’s words did help calm him down some. He was glad that he wasn’t mad at him for breaking the laptop. He was right--it had been a mistake. He wouldn’t have broken it without there being a good reason behind it. Getting scared once had caused him to drop it, then the loud sound it made upon falling to the floor and breaking only added onto it, causing him to cower back. Then the fear of the other mug being upset with him for breaking the computer only increased what fear and panic had already been there.

“I’m sorry.. I really didn’t mean to break your laptop...” he apologized once more. His double said it was fine and that he wasn’t mad at him, but he couldn’t help it after years of dealing with everything being his fault. Being told that his whole life had done this and many other things to the preteen. “But I’ll buy you a new one. To make up for it.”

Cuphead sighed, locking the doors to the casino. Another day finished, another mound of money raked in & thankfully no souls this time. They’d been trying to teach Dice better since Lucifer had been sent running with his tail between his legs. His brother had gone home early, just enough time to help Elder Kettle finish making dinner for when they were done with their job.

& They had enough people to cover his sibling’s shift, so he saw no harm in letting him leave for the day. What he didn’t expect though, was to be bombarded by a pair of arms clinging to his waist.

“Whoa - hey, there ! ” A gentle laugh escapes his lips, scarlet hues glancing down to see a pair of familiar white gloves. Brow lifting high, the cup is careful to turn himself around within the other’s rather tight grasp. “ … Mugs ? ”

Well, it wasn’t his Mugman, but it seemed to be a younger Mugman. & From what it looked like, this one was alone & seemed frightened. “Hey, hey, you okay ? ” He can’t help it, the older brother instincts in him was coming out along with the full need to protect. “What happened ? ”

[☕] The child had yet to realize that this was not the same cup that he knew due to how panicked he was. It looked like him. It sounded like him. But this wasn’t the same Cuphead that was adopted into the family by Elder Kettle. Nor the fact that he wasn’t in his world anymore.

But at the moment, he didn’t care. All he cared about was that he wasn’t alone and was with someone. He hated his separation problems that he had due to he felt like he was much to clingy and bothered his brothers, but they never seemed to mind. They understood his problem like all his others.

It didn’t stop him from apologizing to the other cup for suddenly coming out of nowhere and latching onto him like a leech.

“N-Nothing happened...” he answered quietly. He was shaking and there were tears in his eyes. He hoped he wasn’t hurting Cuphead with how tightly he held onto him for dare life. “J-J-Just separation problems again... I couldn’t find you or Mug anywhere and started to panic an-and here we are...”
