I really liked your post saying Harry becomes child-like with Sirius, it made me look out for moments like that in canon, like in Order of the phoenix when Harry is about to ask Sirius to accompany him to his trial: "Harry looked over at Sirius, but before he could ask the question, Mrs. Weasley had answered it." It's like when Dumbledore let Sirius be the only person to stay with Harry at the end of Goblet of fire, when Harry was telling them about what happened with Voldemort at the graveyard
ah, i love when Harry instinctively turns to Sirius for support! We see this in Occlumency chapter as well:
Extra lessons with Snape — what on earth had he done to deserve this? He looked quickly around at Sirius for support.
Or when he doesn't want Sirius to leave, and he doesn't actively say it, but Sirius addresses it:
He wanted Sirius to stay. He did not want to have to say goodbye again so quickly.
“You’ll see me very soon, Harry,” said Sirius, turning to him. “I promise you. But I must do what I can, you understand, don’t you?”
“Yeah,” said Harry. “Yeah ... of course I do.”
He knows he has Sirius always in his corner <3
